PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Carson Wentz put all his skills on display against the Washington Redskins last season. He showed off his strong arm https://www.theredskinslockerroom.com/authentic-terry-mclaurin-jersey , his accuracy, his running skills, ability to escape and toughness in two double-digit wins, helping the Philadelphia Eagles to the No. 1 seed in the NFC before a knee injury ended his season. The Eagles (5-6) need Wentz to play at that level Monday night when they host the Redskins (6-5) in an important division game. The Cowboys (7-5) lead the NFC East and the defending Super Bowl champions are a victory away from heading to Dallas for a first-place showdown.First, the Eagles must beat Washington. It starts with Wentz. The Redskins expect to see him at his best even though he’s still less than a year removed from surgery to repair two torn knee ligaments.“He’s a big-frame guy,” Redskins defensive coordinator Greg Manusky said. “Andrew Luck is very similar, Ben (Roethlisberger) same thing. Just guys that can (be difficult to) actually get them down physically. But overall on the back end, you have to be able to plaster. The first game we didn’t plaster. I think on the first possession then they got a score.“But overall on the back end, we have to make sure to plaster because he can extend plays, get out of the pocket and break some tackles that you see that he does a lot. We have to make sure we plaster on the backside.”On Philadelphia’s opening drive of the 2017 season, Wentz made a spectacular play on a 58-yard TD pass to Nelson Agholor that kicked off a victory at Washington. He spun away from a defender and eluded another in the pocket before scrambling away and heaving a deep pass to Agholor. He did it again to the Redskins on a Monday night a month later. In the third quarter of that game, Wentz somehow escaped a sack, stayed upright, took a hit and tossed a TD pass while falling forward. Then early in the fourth quarter, Wentz appeared to be sacked — television and radio announcers both called one — but he ducked under a mass of bodies and escaped for a long run.All three plays came on third downs. That type of magic has been missing from Philadelphia’s offense this season. Part of the reason is Wentz hasn’t been able to extend plays with his legs.“If there are opportunities to take off and get a first down Montez Sweat Jersey , protect yourself, slide, then we need that to stay on the field,” coach Doug Pederson said. “I think that’s one area that we can, on third down, particularly, to make sure we do stay on the field, is utilize his ability to run.”But Pederson doesn’t believe Wentz is reluctant to run because of his knee.“No, he just hasn’t had as many opportunities yet this year,” Pederson said.Wentz has only run for 100 yards in nine games. Last season, he rushed for 299 in 13. He also doesn’t blame it on his recovery from knee surgery.“There’s no kind of just get back into it, feel your way into it,” he said. “I was trying to take this thing full speed and run with it. So I never want it to be one of those excuses.”Wentz has put up similar passing numbers to last season when he finished third in NFL MVP voting. His completion rate is a career-best 69.7 percent and his passer rating is 100.8, down from 101.9. He has 16 TD passes and six interceptions, including three in a 48-7 loss at New Orleans.“He’s just taking it in stride and kind of knows the system a little bit better of course Dwayne Haskins Redskins Jersey ,” Manusky said. “He’s having a lot of success and he’s playing good.”On the opposite side, the Redskins are trying to imitate Philadelphia’s success with a backup quarterback. Nick Foles stepped in for Wentz and led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl title.Colt McCoy threw three picks in his first start since replacing the injured Alex Smith. McCoy is 7-19 as a starter since Cleveland selected him in the third round of the 2010 draft.“Nobody gave them a chance last year and they went out and lost their starting quarterback and ended up winning a Super Bowl,” Redskins coach Jay Gruden said.“You can learn a lot from that. It’s about how the team rallies around certain people and it’s not about one guy. That defense stepped it up, that offensive line stepped it up, the running game stepped it up and of course Nick Foles did a great job in critical moments. That’s what we’re trying to do.” Is He A Red Zone Weapon We Just Can’t Pass Up?"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Looks Like Someone Has A Sixpack Of The MondaysDaily SlopRedskins RecapsIs A Dream Of A Sleeper TENew,45commentsIs He A Red Zone Weapon We Just Can’t Pass Up?EDTShareTweetShareShareDonald Parham Is A Dream Of A Sleeper TEDonald Parham, TESchool: Stetson | Conference: Pioneer (FCS)College Experience: Senior | Age: 21Height / Weight: 6-8 / 243 lbsProjected Draft Status: 7th Round or UDFANFL Comparison: Ifeanyi MomahCollege StatisticsStetson StatsYearTeamGRecYdsYd/RecTDsYearTeamGRecYdsYd/RecTDsPlayer OverviewHailing from Lakeland, FL, Donald Parham chose Stetson University in central Florida to play his college ball, where he absolutely dominated the FCS competition. In 2018, he was the top receiving tight end in all of college football, averaging 146.6 yards on 9.4 receptions per game. His 2018 performance earned him consensus first team All American recognition and he was selected to play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl. At 6’8”, Parham looks like a man among boys in most of his film clips, evidencing a deceptive speed (4.67-4.75 40yd), masked by his gazelle-like strides. Parham projects as a late round pick with potentially a very high ceiling who could play both the slot and TE. Unfortunately, he doesn’t appear to have a lot of value in the context of special teams. However, with 36” arms, Parham has an unparalleled catch radius and the potential to be a quarterback’s best friend in the red zone. An injury that prevented Parham from playing at the Senior Bowl may help dampen his pre-draft exposure a bit, but make no mistake, he’s unlikely to be available after the final draft pick is made.

Former Bills running back Karlos Williams James Conner Jersey , who hasn’t played since his rookie year in 2015, has taken a big step toward getting back on the field.Williams has been conditionally reinstated by the NFL after serving a lengthy substance abuse suspension, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Typically a conditional reinstatement means a player will be able to sign with a team and play during the upcoming season as long as he meets certain conditions regarding substance abuse treatment. The 25-year-old Williams showed a lot of promise as a rookie, carrying the ball 93 times for 517 yards and seven touchdowns and adding 11 catches for 96 yards and two more touchdowns. But the Bills cut him during training camp the next year after he showed up out of shape, and although he briefly signed with the Steelers https://www.thesteelerslockerroom.com/authentic-terrell-edmunds-jersey , he never got on the field for them amid repeated substance abuse problems.Given his success as a rookie, it won’t be surprising if some team decides to give him another chance. And if his addiction problems are behind him, it won’t be surprising if he becomes a contributor again. Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick Devin Bush isn’t going to be the biggest inside linebacker to ever set foot on an NFL field. At 5-foot-11 and 234 pounds, Bush is a bit undersized compared to some of his compatriots across the league. However, Bush believes he’s plenty big enough to be effective in the NFL.“I’m a grown man as much as anyone else in this locker room. I’m here to play football. Nothing changes Womens Terrell Edmunds Jersey ,” Bush said, via Tim Benz of the .While Bush may have been too small to play the position a decade ago, he may ultimately be the perfect size to handle the modern NFL game. With the proliferation of spread offenses and pass-heavy attacks, Bush’s speed and athleticism could prove to be the ideal counter to the trends of the NFL. in Pittsburgh’s defense as well. He’ll be called upon as a blitzer in Keith Butler’s 3-4 defensive scheme in addition to covering quick receivers and tight ends over the middle of the field, and tracking down running backs out of the backfield. With fewer and fewer teams looking to run the ball T. J. Watt Jersey White , he’s not going to have to worry about being blocked by guards or tackles as frequently. But when he does have to take on bigger players, he believes he’s built to handle it.“I’m low to the ground. Very quick. Explosive off the first step,” Bush said. “I can generate a lot of power with my legs and my arms. Being able to use my athleticism in the middle to have that quick burst — that strength — to withstand the bigger guys, I think that’s the biggest advantage when I rush inside.”Bush had 161 tackles with 18.5 for loss with 10 sacks, 11 passes defended and an interception during his final two seasons at the University of Michigan.

The Raiders will be fine without Antonio Brown. Unless they won’t be.Coach Jon Gruden is singing a far different tune after three games without Brown Antonio Brown Raiders Jersey , who was cut at his request eight days before the start of the regular season.“We were good in the preseason without him,” Gruden said after the Raiders won their first game of the regular season without Brown. “We’re going to be fine without him.”Two games — both losses by 18 or more points– later, Gruden now blames a sluggish offense on the departure of Brown.“It’s caused us a little bit of . . . rethinking,” Gruden said Wednesday regarding the decision to cut Brown, via Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com. “When you lose your starting ‘Z,’ who arguably is a great player, I don’t think anyone’s going to dispute that you have to replace him. And we’re making an effort to move Tyrell [Williams] around, we’re bringing on some younger guys. J.J. Nelson also got hurt Womens Bo Jackson Jersey , don’t forget that. He was hurt. Dwayne Harris got hurt, so we’ve had some multiple things to deal with, and we’re dealing with them.”They’re also dealing with the fact that quarterback Derek Carr isn’t getting the ball down the field the way that Gruden would like, but Gruden continues to love the one he’s with.“I think he’s done some good things,” Gruden said regarding Carr’s performance this season. “I’m not going to put it all on Derek. We take responsibility as a playcaller. I’m calling the plays and designing some of this stuff, so I put it on myself. He’s done a good job.“Getting stuffed on fourth and a foot isn’t his fault. He didn’t miss the blitz pickup in the red zone. We had a ball that could have been caught, could have set up points at the end of the half. He’s doing some good things. I’m not going to sit here and say that we’re a finished product yet. We’ve gone through a lot of change through the first three weeks, and we played two really good teams Bo Jackson Jersey , actually, three really good defenses in back-to-back weeks.”Carr has completed 73.5-percent of his passes, but he has three interceptions against four touchdown passes. putting him 24th among all quarterbacks. It gets no easier this week with a trip to Indianapolis, but Gruden surely will continue to have excuses and explanations if things continue to go not as well as expected, defending his starting quarterback right up until the point when Gruden can find a potentially better one in the offseason. Today’s edition of featured an amusing (but obviously somewhat serious) anecdote regarding the inability of Raiders receiver Antonio Brown to practice due to what has been characterized as blisters on his feet.On Monday, co-host Chris Simms said that the photos posted by Brown don’t reveal blisters but the peeling of layers of of skins from the bottom of his feet. Simms said that he once had a condition like that, thanks to what he called an “unidentified Buc fungus” in Tampa. After Monday’s show https://www.raiderslockerroom.com/authentic-antonio-brown-jersey , Simms got word from someone with knowledge of the situation that Brown burned his feet by entering a cryotherapy machine without the proper footwear, and his feet were frostbitten.Brown’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, did not respond to a request for comment. The former Steeler started training camp on the non-football injury list. He exited NFI, practiced for a few days, and then was unable to practice. He has seen a specialist, and is regarded as day to day.

Denver Broncos star cornerback Chris Harris Jr. wants a new contract or he wants to be traded. Your move, John Elway. Report: Chris Harris Jr. has requested the Broncos to give him a new contract or trade himAccording to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Broncos All-Pro cornerback Chris Harris Jr. has requested to the Broncos that they sign him to a new contract or trade him. Here we go. As we know, cornerback Chris Harris Jr. has been sitting out the voluntary workouts so far in hopes of getting a contract extension from the Broncos. However, General Manager John Elway continues to insist that he is tabling this matter until after the draft. Well, it appears that Elway threw some gasoline on the fire with his comments about Harris’s situation during the Broncos pre-draft press conference earlier today. Elway told reporters that just because they are going to talk about a potential deal, doesn’t mean that a deal will happen.Elway was also asked if he has considered trading Harris because of these demands. He told reporters that “he hasn’t thought about that” and that he will talk to Harris after the draft. So will Elway start thinking about trading Harris now? I think he very well may.Elway is notorious for “his way or the highway” negotiating. He even asked GOAT Peyton Manning to take a pay cut, so I do not see him paying Harris who is entering his age 30 year. Also keep in mind that they signed slot corner Bryce Callahan who basically replaced what Harris already did well. I just don’t see Elway budging here and likely we see a trade by the end of the week. Ideally, the Broncos could get a premium pick in return, but it likely will be a 3rd or 4th round selection if a trade does go down.Could he still be re-signed and I am just being a negative nancy? It’s possible, but I don’t see this ending without him being traded. Update: Chris Harris is asking for $15 million per year from the Broncos. If these demands are true, Harris is gone. Update number two: 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis is saying that Harris is NOT getting $15 million per year from the Broncos and that a trade is likely best for both sides.Yeah, he’s not coming back. Patrick Mahomes has led the Kansas City Chiefs to another strong start, setting records along the way.The reigning NFL MVP is the first player in league history to have at least 350 yards passing and three touchdown passes without an interception in three straight games. In his first 20 starts, he has another league record with 13 300-yard passing games. And if the 24-year-old superstar quarterback throws at least two TD passes for a 15th straight game against Detroit, he will match one of Peyton Manning's league records set during the 2013 and 2014 seasons with the Denver Broncos."The way Pat's going, he's going to break every record in NFL history if he keeps this up," Lions safety Quandre Diggs said.Mahomes, though Womens Royce Freeman Jersey , is not coming to the Motor City cocky about his chances to match the mark after watching Detroit's defense force three fumbles, recovering two, and allowing Philadelphia's Carson Wentz to barely complete half his passes in a 27-24 win over the Eagles in Week 3."They played physical football," Mahomes said. "They played a lot of man coverage. They really get up in everyone's face and they stopped the run. I think with the Eagles, they really capitalized on turnovers. That's the big thing they focus on. We're going to try to protect the ball."Here are some other things to watch when Kansas City (3-0) plays the Lions (2-0-1) on Sunday:MAKING A MARK Detroit is the first NFL team with four players to have 100 yards receiving and a TD in a game through Week 3. Receiver Danny Amendola and rookie tight end T.J. Hockenson did it in the season-opening tie at Arizona. Receiver Kenny Golladay followed suit in the Week 2 win over the Chargers. In last week's victory at Philadelphia, Marvin Jones became the fourth player on the team with 100 yards receiving and a score."Anytime we can spread the ball around and give the defense a lot to think about, I think it's a positive for us," quarterback Matthew Stafford said. "It's a credit to those guys going out there and making plays. I'm happy for all of those guys that have done it and hopefully we'll get more of it."SPREADING THE LOVEMahomes has also found a different receiver to target each week.Sammy Watkins had 198 yards receiving and three TDs in the season-opening, 40-26 victory at Jacksonville. Demarcus Robinson had 174 and two scores in Week 2, a 28-10 win at Oakland. Mecole Hardman had the 83-yard TD reception in a 33-28 win against Baltimore last Sunday." of this stature and players on this team, it's about spreading the ball around," Watkins said. "Nobody has to go out there and struggle or try to do something don't have to do."MEASURING UPDetroit is unbeaten through Week 3 for the first time since 2011. Of course, few outside of the Lions' locker room expect them to upset the Kansas City to extend the solid start."It'll be a good test for us," Stafford acknowledged.GROWING PAINSThe Chiefs' new defense under coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has gone through some growing pains, getting beaten through the air by Jacksonville in Week 1 and dominated on the ground by everyone else. Kansas City is giving up a league-high 6.2 yards per carry and allowing nearly 140 yards rushing per game."We play well in stretches," safety Tyrann Mathieu said. "The first drive of every game hasn't been a great drive for us defensively. I think we've given up a touchdown every time. Then, in the fourth quarter we get lax as well. End of the day that falls on me."STAFFORD'S SACKSThe previous five seasons, Detroit allowed Stafford to get sacked nearly three times a game on average. After seeing Stafford to get sacked three times in Week 1, the Lions have not surrendered a sack.AP Sports Writer Dave Skretta contributed to this report.

Hogs Haven takes a look at 2019 NFL Draft prospects who could contribute to the Redskins"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Looks Like Someone Has A Sixpack Of The MondaysDaily SlopRedskins RecapsEDTShareTweetShareShareIf Jonah Williams Falls Should The Redskins Select One Of The Safest Picks In The Draft?Jason Getz-USA TODAY SportsJonah Williams Montez Sweat Jersey , OT/OGSchool: Alabama | Conference: SECCollege Experience: Junior | Age: 21?Height / Weight: 6-4 / 302 lbsProjected Draft Status: 1st or 2nd RoundNFL Comparison: Jake MatthewsCollege StatisticsN/APlayer OverviewJonah Williams was 4-star recruit from Folsom, California when he committed to Alabama back in 2015. Williams is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and had wanted to play for the Crimson Tide and did just that by turning down offers from Florida, Georgia, Michigan, and USC among many others. Williams got to work immediately and played right tackle his freshman season as was named as a freshman All-American as well and a the SEC All-Freshman team. He moved to left tackle his sophomore season and had a very successful season where he was named to the All-SEC team again. This past season Williams really took a step forward and was regard as one of the top offensive linemen in the country and one of the top offensive linemen in the draft. He was named as a consensus 1st team All-American and was a finalist for the Outland and Lombardi trophies as a junior. Williams is considered an advanced technician and some scouts believe he can play any position along the offensive line. Tackle prospects usually are expected to have better size especially concerning arm length but Williams just may be the guy who bucks that trend in the league. The upside with him though is that if he doesn’t work at tackle due to physical limitations he can slide into the interior OL and still be a day 1 starter. StrengthsTechnically sound with decent size and good strength. A technician, gets out of his stance quickly, very measured and controlled kick slide and footwork which lets him get good depth off the snap. Has good hand placement and can strike forcefully when engaging rushers. Keeps with at bay with good strength, arm extension Dwayne Haskins Jersey , and his able to anchor and hold his ground as he absorbs speed and power. Has moves to counter rushers including a powerful punch and a nice swat to prevent defenders from getting their hands on him. Has the lower body strength quickness and balance to make recoveries other guys simply can’t. Has great instincts, feel, and awareness for the position and can read defenses and recognize blitzes and stunts. Adjusts accordingly and pivots blocking attention to nearest rusher. Can also be a force as a run blocker with a bit of a mauler type style as he latches on and drives his assignment back. Moves well in space and takes good angles to targets in the second level. He can wipe them out and has sprung some big runs doing just that.WeaknessesI hope you’ll get the reference but he reminds me of the Pillsbury Doughboy out there. Get your hands on him with some power below his chest and into his core and he moves backwards off balance with arms flailing. Doubt he does the ‘hmmmhmm!’ though. He needs to play with more consistently with pad level and really make sure he’s using that swat with longer opponents. Undersized with short arms for a tackle can have trouble with longer edge players who can generate power as described above.Better pass protector than run blocker because he can struggle with his lower half keeping up as he tends to lunge. Needs to show better footwork in this area. Let’s see his work:More Jonah Williams videosHow Would He Fit On The Redskins?I certainly am not advocating for a 1st round tackle unless the Redskins know something we don’t about either Morgan Moses or Trent Williams but I would always advocate for a 2nd round guard if Williams does drop outside of the first round. He’s still being talked about in the top 20 so a fall to the second round is unlikely but not impossible. I’m going to entertain the thought for the sake of this profile and wager that Williams would be a day one starter at LG and a pretty good one. He has Pro Bowl caliber skills and already is much more proficient technically than a lot of his peers at tackle or guard. Scouts seem to believe he has the technique and smarts to play any position on the OL so that added versatility ought to peek the Redskins interest if he were to slide into the second round. Measurement thresholds are fickle things. Logically if he were an inch taller 15-20 lbs heavier and his arms were 2 inched longer he would be a sure top 10 pick. The NFL is also a fickle place and some teams have really strict boxes they want to check at certain positions and Williams size and arm length may just not cut it for some teams looking for a tackle which may push him down. He would solidify pass protection for the Redskins offensive line and be a good contributor in the run game. His technique, toughness, and finishing ability would certainly help the Redskins OL claim the Hogs 2.0 mantra they have been trying to promote the past couple of seasons. If a 1st round talent drops to the second I hope the Redskins have the card ready. Trent Williams wants out of Washington, but the team wants him to stay. fines out of him will do the trick.Despite an earlier report from TheAthletic.com that the team was engaged in trade discussions for the star left tackle, Les Carpenter of the reports that the team’s “not actively shopping him.”Instead, the team hopes that as fines for not coming to camp while under contract will eventually pressure him to get over whatever issues he has with the team and report.By missing a week of training camp already Dwayne Haskins Redskins Jersey , the amount the team could fine Williams is up to $280,000, and it could grow to over $1 million if he stays away all preseason.Williams appears to be unhappy with the organization over the number of things, beginning but not limited to their handling of his offseason health scare. He had a benign tumor removed from his scalp, but he has other concerns.According to the report, Williams asked to be traded on June 1, and then when that didn’t work, asked for more money (figuring that might scare them into action).

Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders‘ recovery from a torn Achilles has passed a milestone.Sanders declared himself way ahead of schedule in his rehab last month and showed how far he’s come on Friday. I merely said this all apart of my destiny. The makeup of the group should leave Sanders with a major role on offense if all continues to be well with his Achilles. The XFL continues its search for football players, and some former NFL players are searching for another chance to play football.Former NFL tight end Fred Davis (pictured) and former NFL safety Rahim Moore were among those who tried out fo the XFL at a Friday showcase at Long Beach City College in California.Davis, who last played for the NFL in 2013, flew across the country and arrived just in time for the start of drills.“Wish I got here earlier,” Davis told Jack Harris of the . “But it feels good to be out here, running around, catching balls.”Davis made the trip for one simple reason: He wants to play football.“For me, that’s what it’s really about — having the chance to still be able to play the game you love to play, that you’ve played for a long time,” Davis said. “Even though you take a break off, it doesn’t mean you can’t play it now.”Davis isn’t sure that the XFL will work, but he welcomes the chance to get to work.“It is easy to be skeptical, because it’s just now getting started,” Davis said. “You’re fighting the big giant — the NFL.”Moore agrees with Davis: The goal is simply to play some football.“It’s still football, you know?” Moore said. “There’s a risk in everything you do. But if you love something Joe Flacco Jersey , man, just go do it.”Moore played earlier this year in the Alliance of American Football, which went belly up after only eight of 10 planned regular-season weeks.“It was a little bittersweet, a little emotional,” Moore said. “ it was the best team I’ve ever been on, as far as the camaraderie. … It was different.”The XFL realizes that there’s reason to wonder if the latest spring football league is legitimate.“They really should be skeptical,” Commissioner Oliver Luck said. “Maybe not cynical, but they should be at least skeptical. So putting an invitation-only thing together with good facilities . . . I think leaves an impression on these young men that, ‘Oh, this league, it is going to be a little bit different.'”There’s that word again: Different. Whether different is better remains to be seen. For now, different gives guys like Davis and Moore, both of whom have been forgotten by the NFL, an opportunity to play football again. While that may not be enough to sustain spring football, which has consistently failed despite how different anyone tries to make it, it’s enough to attract guys who simply want something the NFL used to give them, but no longer does.

Hawaii was the only division I school that offered him a scholarship though Tavai has interest in USC, Washington, and Arizona. He started his career as a freshman at outside linebacker for the Rainbow Warriors and quickly because one of their most prolific players on defense in recent memory. He broke out his sophomore season when he moved to inside linebacker and was awarded All-Mountain West first team honors. He continued that production and success in his junior season and was named the team’s defensive MVP for the year. During the offseason before his senior year he was arrested along with a teammate for getting into a fight at a nightclub. It is alleged that Tavai and his teammate went after a man in the club who had punched a former Hawaii football player and then who pushed his girlfriend down on the floor. It would have been a misdemeanor assault charge (I don’t know if they were formally charged or not). As a consequence Tavai was held out of team offseason activities and suspended for the 2018 season opener. Still he was able to put together another solid season where he played both SAM linebacker and inside. He was invited to the combine but was unable to fully participate because of a shoulder injury he was recovering from that he sustained earlier on in the season. Still its evident on film that Tavai has just about all the athleticism you need to be successful at the next level. He is considered to be a highly underrated linebacker prospect who could work in several types of defensive schemes in the NFL.StrengthsGreat size, speed, and athleticism for the position.Highly productive player with some versatility. He can play outside or inside, play the run or rush the passer, and stick with athletic TE’s and RB’s in coverage as well. Will fit best in some 4-3 schemes as a SAM who primary responsibility is covering the TE and stopping the run. Will also fit best as a MIKE ILB in a 3-4 where can so those same things and he also wouldn’t come off the field in sub packages.Shows good laterally speed, agility and overall range of motion. Sideline to sideline ability is there. Prolific and textbook tackler. Has some pass rush ability playing inside or outside and can create pressure with his speed. Has some pass rush moves from his time outside and makes use of his swat and swim so that OL can’t get their hands on him.Natural feel for both positions and instincts serve him well in the middle as he knows how to navigate and get to his spot in the scrum. Read and react ability is good. Awareness is good and looks like he has a strong football IQ as he seems to know whats going on beyond his position. Knows how to diagnose play action Dwayne Haskins Jersey White , knows when the QB is thinking of taking off, knows when he needs to bail in coverage etc.WeaknessesRehabbing from shoulder injury for a while now and hasn’t been able to log hard numbers to confirm whats on tape. Missed the opportunity to do so at the Senior Bowl, Combine, and his Pro Day. Past arrest will likely have come up in the interview process for him. Needs to assure teams of no more club fights.Needs more attention to detail with his overall technique when rushing the passer, tackling, in coverage etc. You can see certain things like him going for the strip, or turning his head to locate the ball but he needs to take next steps to convert those things into big plays otherwise he might have a clear ceiling in the league. Let’s see his work: The RedskinsNow that the Reuben Foster situation has entered a stage of clarity if everything goes well the Redskins have less of a need for an immediate starting linebacker. Based on whispers the Redskins would like Shaun Dion-Hamilton to take a step forward. The team also has Mason Foster for some reason. While the need for an immediate starter may have been lessened the Redskins still need an influx of youth and athleticism at the position as a lot could change based on injury or other circumstance. This is a great draft to add middle linebacker talent to the team and I think Tavai would be a good addition to the group and pretty good insurance against any unfortunate circumstances with the players already on the roster. I really want Mason Foster off the team, that’s no secret, the Redskins can get a better athlete, a younger player, a cheaper player, and a player with a higher ceiling at the position and make him find work elsewhere. Tavai has the skill set to stay on the field for all 3 downs and can offer improvement at the position.

The Steelers have yet to officially acknowledge Adeniyi’s injury James Conner Jersey White , so the details of his surgery are speculative" Latest NewsCommentaryA possible theory behind Steelers OLB Ola Adeniyi’s recent surgical procedureNew,23commentsThe Steelers have yet to officially acknowledge Adeniyi’s injury, so the details of his surgery are speculativeEDTOn Friday morning, it was reported that Steelers’ outside linebacker Olasunkanmi Adeniyi underwent an undisclosed surgery. In a social media post which was quickly removed, Adeniyi thanked the Steelers organization for showing him so much support. With no acknowledgement from the Steelers as to the extent of Adeniyi’s injury or a timetable to return, there is a lot of room for speculation with little room for facts. Although it has been reported it was a procedure for a torn meniscus with a time frame to return of two to four weeks at best, no other credible information has emerged about the situation. Where there is a lack of information, questions usually begin to multiply. Was this an immediate need? Without surgery, would Adeniyi’s long-term health be at risk? Will he have to go on injured reserve? How long has Ola known he would need surgery? What was the cause for the specific timing of the procedure?Until we get answers, all Steelers fans can do is guess. So let’s take a guess! I’m going to offer one possible THEORY behind the circumstances dealing with the timing of Adeniyi’s surgery. Please remember that I have no more inside information than any of you reading this article, but this is a hypothesis I formed based in the limited information given at the time. I’m going to have to outline a few things in order to shape this theory Womens Jerome Bettis Jersey , but I’ll do my best to explain it thoroughly. So here we go...

The NFL life of the Undrafted Free AgentAlthough Adeniyi was on the Steelers roster in 2018 after returning from the Injured Reserve list, his status for 2019 was anything but guaranteed. Almost all undrafted players come in to each season having to earn their spot on the roster. Once an undrafted player has proven their worth over several seasons and earned a second contract, then their status with the team is more secure. This can also be true with many drafted players, but is not necessarily at the same level.Let’s look at Ramon Foster as an example. Signed as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2009, Foster earned his spot on the team. Battling for a starting position in 2010, if Foster would have been unavailable during training camp, there is no guarantee the Steelers would have kept him on the team. In 2012 Foster received a one-year restricted free agent tender, followed by signing a three-year deal in 2013. Not playing nearly as often as Foster did his rookie season, Adeniyi needed to earn his way onto the Steelers roster for 2019. Had Ola not been available throughout the preseason, he would have run the risk of being waived/injured. There were other options the Steelers could have used such as the PUP list, but an unproven player may not want to run the risk of finding themselves out of the league.Considering the uncertainty of his future with the Steelers entering training camp Jerome Bettis Jersey , Adeniyi made have been fully aware surgery was in his future at some point. Not wanting to miss his chance in the NFL, Ola may have chose to play through the pain in order to help secure his roster position with the Steelers.
The best time to missHaving a good training camp and first preseason game, if Adeniyi had made the Steelers aware of his meniscus they may have suggested getting the surgery now. If he is to miss four weeks, the time frame for his return would be just before the home opener at Heinz Field against Seattle in Week 2. came to an agreement that now was the best time.
The theory in a nutshellHere’s the simple version of what I believe could have been the way things played out with Adeniyi having his surgery last Friday:He knew he would eventually need surgery, but Andeiyi needed to earn a roster spot in training campAdeniyi made the Steelers aware of the need for surgery at some point, but was playing through it the best he couldAfter Week 1 of the preseason, the Steelers had seen enough to know they wanted Ola for 2019The Steelers and Adeniyi agreed for him to get the problem fixed now so the impact of time missed during the regular season would be minimal
I’m sure this theory could turn out to be way off, but when Ola thanked the Steelers’ coaches for being so supportive it gives an indication the decision for surgery was a mutual decision. For all we know, Adeniyi could have hurt his knee last week making all of these speculations invalid. Hopefully we’ll know more of the story sometime soon. But until then, feel free to give your thoughts in the comments below. With the Super Bowl behind them, the NFL is already looking forward to the next big event on their schedule with the release of the official list of players who will participate in the 2019 Scouting Combine on Thursday. to Indianapolis for this intensive job interview James Conner Jersey , with most of the top prospects in the country expected to perform. The participants should include Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray after he was extended an invitation to attend. However, despite announcing his intention to enter the NFL draft earlier in the year, he has not yet confirmed if he intends pursuing a career in baseball or football. Murray was drafted by the Oakland Athletics with the ninth pick of the 2018 MLB Draft.Held at Lucas Oil Field from February 26 through March 4, the on-field portions of the event will run from March 1 to March 4 and will be televised live on the NFL Network. Fittingly, no college team had more players invited to take part this year than the two teams that competed for the National Championship in 2018, with Clemson and Alabama both sending 11 players each. The Pittsburgh Steelers will have a wide array of scouts and coaches on hand to watch the all the draft prospects go through their paces and to conduct interviews, a group that will include Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert. The full list of the invited names arranged by position can be found here, or via the NFL’s combine database.

Teams have a couple of days left to host draft prospects for visits at their facilities and the Raiders will be spending some of that time with one of the top defensive players in this year’s class.Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that former LSU linebacker Devin White will meet with the team on Tuesday and Wednesday. That puts him at the tail end of a process that’s seen the Raiders spend time with many of the players expected to come off the board in the first round. That makes sense as Oakland will have three first-round picks at their disposal later this month. The additional reps could help these guys stand out while Todd Davis recovers from a partially torn calf." Denver Broncos Training CampDenver Broncos NewsBroncos who could step up in Todd Davis’ absenceNew Womens Dre'Mont Jones Jersey ,23commentsThe additional reps could help these guys stand out while Todd Davis recovers from a partially torn calf.MDTThere’s a reason the mantra in the NFL has always been “Next Man Up” and with Todd Davis expected to miss 3-4 weeks as he recovers from a partially torn calf, Vic Fangio and the Broncos coaching staff will have ample opportunity to evaluate the depth behind him. Here are three off ball backers who could make an impression with the additional reps. Josey JewellSince the day he was drafted in the 4th round of the 2018 draft Josey Jewell has brought with him a lot of fanfare. A standout defender out of Iowa renowned for his tackling and coverage prowess, the expectations were really high in last year’s training camp. So when Jewell found his way to playing time, some were disappointed to see Jewell make rookie mistakes. Coverage was often an issue for the 6’2” 235 lb Jewell, specifically play actin where he lacked the hip fluidity and foot speed to recover after biting.Since Fangio’s arrival, Brandon Marshall’s departure, and the decision to pass on Devin Bush in the 2019 Draft it has looked like Jewell has a huge opportunity to stand out in year 2. Now he’ll have even more chances to do just that. Josey Jewell will have more opportunities to prove he’s poised for a breakout campaign. Joseph JonesIt seems notable that Joseph Jones did replace Todd Davis with the first team defense when Davis missed practice for the birth of his daughter back during OTAs. After Jewell, the Broncos linebacker depth chart is a mix of unproven veterans and rookies. Jones has had the most time playing D among them: a grand total of 25 snaps, all but one of them in place of Jewell against the Bengals last season. After studying him this summer https://www.broncoslockerroom.com/authentic-drew-lock-jersey , I thought enough of Jones tape to mention him as a dark horse contender for playing time this season. He brings something Davis and Jewell don’t: real speed. He’s a good athlete and could bring range to the second level this preseason.Jones’ speed and lateral mobility could help him stand out from all of the other linebackers. Justin HollinsI’ll admit I already expected a lot out of the rookie fifth round pick. He was my favorite selection in the 2019 year’s draft and I expected him to eventually earn playing time as the third edge rusher behind Von Miller and Bradley Chubb.Coming out of Oregon most (myself included) thought he projected to the next level as an edge player. His versatility to rush the passer, chase, or drop into coverage made him an ideal fit for Fangio’s scheme. So what was peculiar after the draft is hearing the Broncos head coach mention his plans to see Hollins play off the ball. Broncos Inside Andrew Mason already mentioned that Hollins spent a majority of his snaps on the first day of camp playing inside backer. Now with Davis out he’s even likelier to play a significant portion of his snaps off the ball. Look for him to be well versed in both roles by the time Denver head to Oakland. The Broncos coaching staff seems sky high on Hollins’ potential. So am I. Beyond the Big 3One of the things that makes it a bit of a fool’s errand betting on this group is how inexperienced they are. After Jewell and Davis, the Broncos linebacker’s bring 43 defensive snaps into camp. Keishawn Bierria did contribute a lot to special teams last season and could outplay his athletic limitations if the game’s begun to slow down for him. the first practice of the year, and has his believers in Broncos Country. Rookie Josh Watson brings intriguing athleticism, while fellow rookie Joe Dineen stands out as a PFF darling. It should be interesting once the pads come on.Broncos NewsNFL News The Broncos only received Chris Harris‘ “pay me or trade me” ultimatum yesterday, and they may already be at an impasse.According to Mike Klis of KUSA, the star cornerback’s agent told the team he was looking for a new deal that exceeds $15 million per year Citing a source, Klis also reports the Broncos aren’t prepared to go to that level for Harris Dalton Risner Jersey , so things could turn ugly in a hurry.Harris just received a $1 million option bonus in March, and is due to make $7.9 million this year on the final year of the deal he signed in 2014. He hasn’t shown up for the offseason program yet. The Broncos gave cornerback Kareem Jackson a three-year deal worth $11 million a year this offseason, which can’t help Harris’ mood when he’s looking for a raise.Elway has said he would talk to Harris’ agent after the draft.“I don’t have time right now,” Elway said Tuesday. “I’m busy with the draft. We’ll talk about Chris. He’s under contract, so we’ll talk about that when the draft is over.“When I say this, I said we’re going to talk about it. It doesn’t mean we’re going to do it.”If they were going to move Harris, this would be the time, so the draft pick compensation they get could go toward filling a rather sizable hole on their depth chart.

Champ Bailey will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame tomorrow night https://www.theredskinslockerroom.com/authentic-dwayne-haskins-jersey , and one of the teams he played for has done a lot to honor him. The other team he played for has not.Bailey played his first five seasons in Washington and then played 10 seasons in Denver, but he said today that only the Broncos congratulated him when he was voted in.“Nobody from Washington had called me until three days ago. Nobody,” Bailey said.Bailey loved spending a decade in Denver and is thrilled to be enshrined in Canton alongside longtime Broncos owner Pat Bowlen.“I’m traded and I get to Denver, great organization,” Bailey said. “I think my Hall of Fame career really started with the Bowlens. To have Pat go in with me is unbelievable.”Bailey appears to have much warmer memories of his time in Denver than of his time in Washington. Colt McCoy silenced his phone knowing he was coming back to his home state for his first NFL start in four years, in the stadium where he helped lead the Texas Longhorns to a shot at a national title as their star quarterback and where he last won a game as a pro.The longtime Washington backup also knows what’s most important as he takes over following Alex Smith’s season-ending leg injury . The Redskins (6-4) can control the NFC East by beating the rival Dallas Cowboys (5-5) in the most traditional of Thanksgiving games Thursday.“I’m thankful for the opportunity, but I think it’s even more than that,” McCoy said. “It’s time to just go play and put everything else aside. We have a huge game this week. It’s a huge game.”McCoy is 2-0 at AT&T Stadium, beating Nebraska for the 2009 Big 12 championship and a spot in the BCS championship game, which Texas lost to Alabama when McCoy got hurt early. The small-town Texas kid beat the Cowboys five years later, completing 25 of 30 passes for 299 yards in a 20-17 overtime win for the Redskins. He’s 32 now, and hasn’t started since the last of three straight defeats late in the 2014 season, a little more than a month removed from that win over the Cowboys. McCoy, a third-round pick by Cleveland in 2010 after that title-game loss to the Crimson Tide, has a career record of 7-18.McCoy is in his fifth year as Washington’s backup and has played just four games over four seasons, including when he replaced Smith in the third quarter of Sunday’s 23-21 loss to Houston. A potential winning drive stalled near midfield, and Dustin Hopkins‘ 63-yard field goal try fell short with 3 seconds left.“It’s been a while since he’s played in a significant game. That’ll be the challenge,” coach Jay Gruden said.“I know he’s excited as heck, man. He hated to get the opportunity the way he got it with Alex getting hurt. I understand that. But deep down inside, he’s been waiting for this.”Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott has been waiting for another Thanksgiving game since he had to miss last year on his six-game suspension over domestic violence allegations. In his Thanksgiving debut against the Redskins two years ago as a rookie, he jumped into the giant Salvation Army red kettle after a touchdown in a 31-26 Dallas win.The Cowboys have a chance to tie the Redskins for the division lead thanks to their first winning streak of the season Womens Dwayne Haskins Jersey , a pair of victories on the road after they were winless in their first four away from home.“We said this a couple weeks ago, though; we knew that the division was still in front of us,” quarterback Dak Prescott said. “Our backs are still against the wall. We know what this game means. We know how important this game is.”BIG RETURNSWashington could get a major boost if any combination of left tackle Trent Williams, running back Chris Thompson, wide receiver Jamison Crowder and cornerback Quinton Dunbar can return from lengthy injury absences.Williams just needs to feel comfortable blocking after surgery for a dislocated right thumb, and Thompson said his injured ribs feel markedly better this week. Dunbar, who’s dealing with nerve damage as part of a shin injury, feels “pretty close” but isn’t sure if he’ll make the problem worse.ELLIOTT’S WORKLOADIt just so happens that Elliott’s season high in touches — 30 in a 22-19 win over Atlanta — came on the Cowboys’ annual short week. In road wins over the NFC’s past two Super Bowl participants in Philadelphia and Atlanta, Elliott had 55 touches (42 carries, 13 catches) for 388 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns.“If that’s what it has to be then that’s what it’s going to be,” said Elliott, who needs 91 yards rushing to overtake idle NFL rushing leader and MVP contender Todd Gurley. “I’m definitely not afraid of that.”BALANCING ACTPart of the Redskins’ challenge in helping McCoy succeed is getting Adrian Peterson going on the ground. Peterson had just 16 carries for 51 yards in the loss to Houston, but ran for two touchdowns and is looking forward to playing back in his home state of Texas. of Washington’s running backs to produce in the running and passing games. The former Oklahoma standout had 99 yards in the earlier win over the Cowboys.GALLUP BACKDallas rookie receiver Michael Gallup is expected to play after rejoining the team Wednesday. He stayed behind with his family after getting the news following the win over the Falcons that his brother died by suicide.“The situation’s unique, the individual’s unique, the circumstances,” coach Jason Garrett said. “I do think for all of us as we go through challenging things, I do think getting back to routine and structure typically can help us.”STARTS WITH DEFENSEThe Redskins, who haven’t allowed a 100-yard rusher, held Elliott to 33 yards in a 20-17 win in the first meeting. It’s the second-lowest total of his career. Both teams are in the top five in scoring defense and in the top six in rushing defense.

That way I don’t waste my time and their’s.”I hear you loud and clear, Coach. With the Pittsburgh Steelers seeking redemption from 2017 in Jacksonville on Sunday, Coach Tomlin is only concerned about the players in the locker room who are available to him moving forward. He began by addressing James Conner’s injury.“James Conner is still in the concussion protocol, not that that’s a negative. Part of getting out of the protocol is physical labor. We haven’t worked. He’ll be given an opportunity to work tomorrow and I think it will lay all these discussions to bed.”When asked about depth at the running back position behind Conner, Tomlin reminded everyone the position has been stable all season.“The running back room is the group that we’ve been working with since the day we checked into Latrobe. So there is no adjustment鈥?addressing the challenges that our schedule holds moving forward”Coach Tomlin was specifically asked about Jaylen Samuels and his recent production.“I like his arrow. It’s been continually pointed up. But we expect that from him. He’s met that element of the challenge. He’s been a positive contributor for our efforts. It’s shown on (special) teams, it needs to continue to show on teams. And, obviously, in recent weeks when given an opportunity to touch the ball, it’s shown some on offense as well.”Tomlin was also asked about the benefits from being able to use all three running back‘s in Thursday night’s game.“We intended to utilize all backs. We said that prior to the game. We did prior to James’ injury. So there was no adjustment or nothing to that. That was part of our plan.”Coach Tomlin followed up by addressing how much work the other running backs received due to Conner’s injury. “I don’t know how much James would have played beyond what he played anyway.”While Mike Tomlin continually had to address questions about a certain player who is not available to him Womens James Conner Jersey , one Le’Veon Bell, but he did manage to find a way to praise James Conner’s production.“I’m proud of what James is doing and has done, and all the work he’s put in.”Conner and company will get their next chance to show their rushing abilities on Sunday at 1 PM in Jacksonville. PITTSBURGH (AP) — Ben Roethlisberger didn’t want to get into hypotheticals.Maybe because doing so would only make the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ painful late swoon all the more painful.“Would’ve, could’ve, should’ve,” Roethlisberger said after Pittsburgh’s season ended a half-game shy of a fifth straight postseason berth. “I can sit here and say ‘Yeah, we’d be dangerous in the playoffs.’ But we didn’t make it, so it doesn’t matter.”Roethlisberger’s tone was a mixture of pragmatism and disappointment with a dash of resolve. As difficult and occasionally weird as 2018 was — from the season-long absence of running back Le’Veon Bell to the occasionally erratic behavior by star wide receiver Antonio Brown to a series of losses in November and December in which the Steelers let second-half leads slip away — the longtime quarterback remains adamant the Steelers are on the right path.“Anytime you can kind of keep that core group, keep people together T. J. Watt Jersey , the less turnover the better usually,” Roethlisberger said. “So, from the top down I think that is important.”Maybe, but there is bound to be some level of change over the next few months as a team that featured the NFL’s passing leader and six Pro Bowlers tries to reconcile all that talent with an inability to lock up a third consecutive AFC North title.Offensive line coach Mike Munchak could be a hot property for one of the head coaching vacancies. Defensive coordinator Keith Butler’s unit tied for the league lead with 52 sacks but produced just 15 turnovers, third-fewest in the NFL.The special teams were erratic, penalty-riddled and largely ineffective under Danny Smith. And still the Steelers appeared to be in good shape after a six-game midseason winning streak pushed them to 7-2-1 by Thanksgiving.Four losses over the final six weeks followed, each setback coming in a game Pittsburgh led after halftime.“There were plenty of opportunities to be made and we didn’t capitalize on them,” defensive end Cam Heyward said.Four turnovers in Denver , the last a pick in the end zone by Roethlisberger. A slow Jerome Bettis Jersey White , methodical meltdown over the final 30 minutes against the Los Angeles Chargers, when the Steelers lost a 16-point home lead for the first time in franchise history.Another in an increasingly long line of pratfalls in Oakland, this one coming when the Raiders went the length of the field twice in the fourth quarter . A wrenching 31-28 setback in New Orleans two days before Christmas that featured a couple of questionable calls against cornerback Joe Haden and a gutsy but ill-fated fake punt attempt in the final minutes that came up a half-yard short of a first down.“I don’t know what the problem is,” guard David DeCastro said. “Football is an honest sport. That’s why I love the game. It’s honest. It lets you know exactly how it feels about you, what you get in and what you get out. The record is what it is.”And what does 9-6-1 mean?“Wasn’t good enough, that’s for sure,” DeCastro said. The issue, Heyward insisted, wasn’t coaching or the steady trickle of off-the-field headlines James Conner Jersey White , be it Bell’s refusal to sign his $14.4 million franchise tender or Brown’s series of missteps. The only player in NFL history with six straight 100-catch seasons suggested he wouldn’t mind getting traded after a former team employee tweaked him on Twitter and threatened to harm a reporter who attempted to do an in-depth piece on Brown’s personal life.Multiple reports on Monday — citing sources — said Brown sat out Sunday’s 16-13 win over Cincinnati as punishment for skipping meetings and getting into a heated disagreement with a teammate.“There’s plenty of circuses that go around and everybody likes to make a big deal about my team,” Heyward said. “But you know, that doesn’t mean we shy away from it. When we were winning, (the questions were) ‘How do you guys keep doing it with the wins?’ I don’t really follow that as something that deters me or distracts me. Everybody in this locker room wants to win. When we don’t win, it hurts us bad.”Pittsburgh did win — extending its streak of non-losing seasons to 15 — just not when it absolutely mattered. A play here or there and the Steelers are in the postseason and a threat to play into February.Instead, a year that got off to a weird start with the offensive line publicly venting about Bell opting not to end his standoff with the team ahead of Week 1 followed immediately by a six-turnover tie in Cleveland and never really seemed to get to some semblance of “normal” ended with Pittsburgh watching the videoboard at Heinz Field hoping Cleveland could knock off Baltimore. It was strange, momentarily exhilarating and ultimately futile.“It’s tough but that’s the bed we made,” Heyward said. “It’s something we have to live with. We put ourselves in this situation and we can’t look at anybody’s fault but ours.”

Yesterday the Raiders kept three quarterbacks on their active roster. Today they’ve added a fourth.DeShone Kizer Womens Antonio Brown Jersey , waived by the Packers on Saturday, was claimed by the Raiders on Sunday.Presumably that means one of the backups kept on the Raiders’ initial 53-man roster, Mike Glennon or Nathan Peterman, is on the way out.Raiders coach Jon Gruden, then an ESPN analyst, interviewed Kizer for a pre-draft feature in 2017 and said at the time that he didn’t think Kizer was worth a first-round draft pick.“I did like his obvious size and the strength of his arm is impressive,” Gruden said of Kizer. “Would I use a first round pick on him? Probably not. I don’t think the body of work is complete. There are some things that he’s got to resolve in terms of end-of-game situations, winning, there’s some things he’s still a little rough around the edges. From a talent standpoint he’s got a lot of ability. He’s athletic, he’s tough and he’s got a cannon for an arm. I do think I would probably have a hard time taking him in the first round this year.”Now Gruden likes Kizer enough to think he’s worth a roster spot, as one of the backups behind Derek Carr. On the fifth leg of the Raiders road trip away from Oakland, Jon Gruden’s squad is set to face off against the Houston Texans. The Texans are looking to redeem themselves coming off of a disappointing loss to division rival Indianapolis Colts. Deshaun Watson and the Houston offense has been dangerous and capable of keeping their team in every game. The Raiders defense is coming off a drubbing at the hands of another talented quarterback Antonio Brown Jersey White , and they will have their hands full corralling Watson. The Raiders offense, however, should be able to move the ball against a Texans defense that has been average in most areas at the end of 7 weeks of football. Here’s a look at what the Raiders are up against.Containing Deshaun WatsonLook closely at how Watson wags his finger in the linebacker’s face before crossing the goal-line. The Texans signal-caller is an extraordinarily confident and talented football player who is a threat throwing and running the football. The Texans have hit quite a few explosive plays due to Watson scrambling, waiting for the coverage to break down, and heaving a pass downfield to speedy wide-receivers like Will Fuller, Kenny Stills or Keke Coutee.Watson is also qualified to handle the situation himself in short-yardage situations. He has proven over and over again this season he can run the ball for first downs or even touchdowns when the ball is in the red-zone. The Raiders have done a good job bottling up most running backs this season, but a running threat the caliber of Watson puts extreme stress on a defense to play assignment sound football. What makes the Texans so tough to defend is the presence of DeAndre Hopkins at wide-receiver. Hopkins is Watson’s security blanket and chain mover. He is currently 3rd in the NFL for first downs gained by a wide-receiver with 32. The passing offense is built around Hopkins, who is a physical player capable of making tough catches in tight windows. The clip above shows Kansas City doubling the former Clemson WR, with the safety responsible for vertical and outside breaking routes, while the slot corner will take inside breaking routes. Hopkins runs an option route where he reads the leverage of the defender and breaks in the opposite direction at the first down marker. Even when two defenders are on him, the Texans receiver can move the chains. The Raiders haven’t played much bracket coverage this season. If they don’t do it in Houston—put Hopkins on your fantasy team.Houston’s greatest gift can also be their greatest curse—Watson’s mobility. Many other scrambling quarterbacks are prone to holding the ball too long, opening up themselves to take sacks. The Raiders pass rush isn’t great Bo Jackson Jersey White , but they will have much longer to get home due to how long Watson will wait to throw in 3rd and long situations.Watson takes, on average, three sacks a game. With sacks come the potential for turnover worthy plays.they will have a chance to capitalize on mistakes.Distributing the football through the airAfter giving up a decent chunk of rushing yards in the first two weeks, the Texans defense has clamped down in the run game. Through the last three weeks, the Texans haven’t allowed more than 62 yards in a game. The Texans front 7 is a formidable group, but their secondary isn’t quite as scary. One way offenses have been able to hurt the Texans’ defense is by throwing to backs out of the backfield. Taking advantage of an aggressive defense and calling screens should be in the game-plan.The Texans have given up big passing yard totals every game because of breakdowns in their coverage. Take this play, for example, where three defenders cover one receiver while no one is even close to Eric Ebron streaking across the field.Jon Gruden’s gameplan will put stress on these defenders and see if they can be put in conflict. Big plays should come for this Raiders offense.Like mentioned before the Houston Front 7 is a talented group. Led by JJ Watt, they have sacked opposing quarterbacks 17 times this season. The Raiders offensive line should be up for the challenge, but a heavy dose of play-action passes like the one above will slow down the Texans pass rush while picking on their lesser players in the secondary.

While the Broncos will hold a voluntary minicamp this week Courtland Sutton Jersey , cornerback Chris Harris will remain in Dallas working with his personal trainer. Harris is making it clear he wants his contract reworked.Harris, though, told Mike Klis of Denver’s 9News that his holdout won’t affect his play.“I’m ready,’’ Harris said. “This is easily going to be my best year this year. These next three years, I’m about to go crazy. If they want me to be here, I’ll go crazy these next three years; I’ll guarantee it.’’Harris has one year left on his current contract, paying him $7.9 million. Kareem Jackson Royce Freeman Jersey White , who has four fewer Pro Bowls, signed a contract with the Broncos that will pay him $12 million in 2019.All-Pro in 2016. He made 49 tackles, three interceptions and 10 pass breakups in 12 games last season and has 471 tackles, 19 interceptions and 80 pass breakups in his eight seasons. X-rays on the injured hand of Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Drew Lock came back negative, according to Mike Klis of 9News.Lock left Monday night’s preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers in the third quarter after seemingly jamming his right thumb into the turf attempting a desperation shovel pass to avoid a sack. Lock was tripped up by 49ers safety Marcell Harris and he attempted to toss the ball in the vicinity of tight end Bug Howard only to have his hand slam into the turf after releasing the ball.Lock was supposed to play into the fourth quarter of the game. Instead Courtland Sutton Jersey White , Kevin Hogan returned to the lineup to close out the contest for Denver. He was listed as questionable to return to the game but there’s no reason to push things in the preseason. The X-rays coming back clean is obviously good news for Lock and the Broncos. Unless any ligaments were significantly affected, Lock could avoid missing much, if any, time altogether.

Washington senior vice president of player personnel Doug Williams said earlier this year that the team needs a quarterback to join Case Keenum and Colt McCoy on the depth chart.Given that view and the uncertainty about Alex Smith‘s future after last season’s leg injury Montez Sweat Jersey , some have wondered if the team might go after a quarterback in the first round of this year’s draft. If they do, Williams suggests it won’t come after a trade up the draft board.Williams held his pre-draft press conference on Monday and said that taking a quarterback is on the table with the No. 15 pick. He also said that the chance of making a trade that pushes them higher than No. 15 is “a lot slimmer” than one that gives them a later selection. If there’s a quarterback the team loves, trading back would seem to be an unlikely development but we’ll likely have to wait until Thursday to find out for sure. PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers have reiterated repeatedly during an eventful offseason that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger remains the team’s unquestioned leader. They have handed him a new deal to prove it.The Steelers and the two-time Super Bowl winner agreed to terms on a contract extension Wednesday that will keep Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh through the 2021 season. Roethlisberger had been set to enter the final year of a contract he signed in 2015. Financial terms were not disclosed Womens JuJu Smith-Schuster Jersey , but Roethlisberger figures to get a significant pay bump over the $12 million he was due (with a $23 million cap hit) in 2019.“It has always been a goal to play my entire career in Pittsburgh,” Roethlisberger said in a statement. “This is home for me and my family, and we love this city. I am as excited to be a Steeler in Year 16 as I was when they drafted me. They will get my absolute best.”The deal gives Pittsburgh some stability going forward after the high-profile departures of wide receiver Antonio Brown and running back Le’Veon Bell. Brown pouted his way into a trade with the Oakland Raiders in March while Bell signed with the New York Jets as a free agent after sitting out all of 2018 when he opted not to sign his franchise tender.Roethlisberger, who turned 37 last month, is coming off the finest statistical season of his 15-year career. His 5,129 yards passing led the NFL and his 34 touchdown passes broke his own franchise mark. Yet his once-solid relationship with Brown appeared to deteriorate during a late slide that culminated in a 9-6-1 finish, a swoon that caused the Steelers to miss the playoffs for the first time since 2013.Brown sat out a crucial Week 17 game against Cincinnati and in the aftermath lashed out on social media, blaming Roethlisberger for having an “owner mentality .”Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert went out of his way to defend the quarterback, saying that in a way, Roethlisberger was dealing with “52 kids” on the roster , a challenge for some of Roethlisberger’s teammates to take on a greater role in the locker room. Not that Roethlisberger minds the responsibility. He has been unapologetic in his approach and unafraid to call out himself and others when the team fails to play to the standard it has set for itself during his largely successful tenure.Roethlisberger flirted with retirement after the 2016 season but has found a renewed sense of energy in his mid-30s. Having an offensive line that has kept him upright has certainly helped. Roethlisberger has been sacked an average of 20½ times over the last four years — compared with an average of 42 times per season between 2006-13 — due in part to stellar play in front of him and an approach predicated on getting the ball out faster while shying away from the “Ben being Ben” stuff that led to a mix of big plays and big mistakes earlier in his career. The announcement of the extension came on the 15th anniversary of the Steelers making Roethlisberger the seventh overall pick in the 2004 draft. After taking over the starting job in Week 2 of the 2004 season following an injury to veteran Tommy Maddox, Roethlisberger has led the Steelers to three Super Bowls, along with seven AFC North titles and 10 total playoff berths.“Ben is one of the most productive quarterbacks in NFL history, and he continued to climb the lists among the all-time passing leaders in the league last season,” team president Art Rooney II said. “But I know Ben’s focus is on only one goal — to bring another Lombardi trophy back to Pittsburgh.”Roethlisberger will lead an offense in the midst of a generational shift at other skill positions. JuJu Smith-Schuster replaces Brown as Pittsburgh’s top receiver and the running back combination of James Conner and Jaylen Samuels combined to put up numbers in 2018 similar to Bell’s at his peak. There is stability, however, along the offensive line. Four of five starters return and there are plenty of potential in-house replacements for right tackle Marcus Gilbert Womens T. J. Watt Jersey , who was traded to Arizona in March.Pittsburgh has toyed with finding Roethlisberger’s eventual successor, drafting Josh Dobbs in the fourth round in 2017 and Mason Rudolph in the third round last year. Dobbs won the backup job last summer over Rudolph and veteran Landry Jones, who was cut on the eve of the 2018 season. Having them in place means the Steelers are likely to avoid drafting a quarterback with one of their 10 selections in the draft that starts Thursday.Inside linebacker, cornerback and wide receiver figure to be Pittsburgh’s biggest needs early.Quarterback, for the 15th straight year, will not. Not with Roethlisberger still very much in charge early into the next decade. DENVER (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers can unnerve plenty of defenses with the NFL’s best pair of pass catchers and the league’s top tight end tandem. Not Denver’s.“We’ve had a tough game every week,” Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. said. “We haven’t had any easy games. So, this is just another top offense that we get to see, another great challenge and we’re up for it.”The Steelers (7-2-1), bursting with playmakers in wide receivers Antonio Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, tight ends Vance McDonald and Jesse James and running back James Connor, are the third consecutive opponent to bring a winning streak of at least five games into their matchup against the Broncos (4-6).The 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the last team to face that sort of gantlet, wrapping up an 0-14 season with losses to the Raiders, Steelers and Patriots by an average of 40-10.The Broncos snapped the Chargers‘ six-game roll with a stirring comeback last week capped by Brandon McManus‘ field goal as time expired — one game after his errant kick as time expired allowed the Texans to escape with their sixth straight win.“We’ve seen it all already,” Harris said. “Now, it’s just another challenge JuJu Smith-Schuster Jersey White , another great offense, another great quarterback and receivers. We’ve had some success this year playing the top offenses.”In addition to letting Deshaun Watson and the Texans duck out of Denver with a win, the Broncos had their chances against Jared Goff and the Rams and twice against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. They lost those four games by a combined 12 points.“Close calls against really good football teams,” Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said. “This is definitely a team that is much better than their record shows. They’re a team that’s kind of sitting there.”Ready to pounce.“They got a big win last week and need to get this win,” Roethlisberger said. “We don’t look at records. We look at going on the road to a tough place to play against a really good football team.”Other subplots in the Steelers’ first trip to Denver since the playoffs following the 2015 season:ORANGE CRUNCHThe Broncos counter Pittsburgh’s dynamite duos with the league’s most prolific pass-rushing pair in Von Miller and rookie Bradley Chubb, both of whom are riding five-game sack streaks.Miller and Chubb have combined for 19 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, 29 QB hits, five forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one interception.“It’s unbelievable, maybe the best one in the game right now, those two guys,” Roethlisberger said.MAD SCIENCEMiller is coming off his 100th sack and a key interception that was a game-changer and maybe a season-turner, and he certainly has the attention of the Steelers.“I’ve got nothing but crazy respect for him,” Roethlisberger said. “Such a good football player and he really takes pride in his craft. He’s almost scientific about it.”Miller was the MVP of the Pro Bowl last year, where he was coached by Mike Tomlin in the Steelers staff.“I thought he was an alien,” Tomlin said. “He was a special player among a group of special players. He went by me in the fourth quarter and said https://www.thesteelerslockerroom.com/authentic-juju-smith-schuster-jersey , ‘Coach, I got this.’ I watched him take over a Pro Bowl and change the climate inside that stadium.”“An alien?” replied Miller. “Like, which one? There’s Martians with the big head or is it like ‘Alien’ the movie?”ROAD WARRIORSThe Steelers are 15-1-1 in their last 17 road games, though the going has typically been difficult in Denver. Pittsburgh has dropped four of its last five visits to the Mile High City, including a pair of playoff setbacks in 2012 and 2016.“” defensive end Cam Heyward said. “I know I’ve never won a game there and I’ve been around a while. It’s one of those places where, no matter how hot you might think you are, things can change in a minute.”JUJU’S MOJOWhile Brown has caught at least one touchdown in eight consecutive games, it’s the development of Smith-Schuster that’s helped keep Pittsburgh’s offense humming even with running back Le’Veon Bell sitting out the season.Smith-Schuster has 64 receptions for 866 yards and has developed a rapport with Roethlisberger that is paying off in the clutch. He caught four passes in Pittsburgh’s final frenetic two drives last week against Jacksonville, including a leaping 35-yard grab that helped set up the winning touchdown.REPLAY OR REDEMPTION“It’s the best of the best,” Harris said of his matchup with Brown, who got the best of him the last time they lined up against each other three years ago.Brown caught 16 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns, snapping Harris’ streak of 35 games without allowing a score.“I didn’t play well that night,” Harris said. “But I’m ready for Sunday.”

The Schutt AiR Advantage helmet has gotten plenty of free publicity this week. Too bad they quit making it eight years ago.Agent Drew Rosenhaus tells PFT that Raiders receiver Antonio Brown has located “a few” Schutt AiR Advantage helmets made in 2010. Those helmets will be reconditioned and submitted for approval by the NOCSAE. Because the NOCSAE will not certify helmets that are more than 10 years old Bo Jackson Jersey , Brown will get at least one year of use — and possibly two — out of helmets made in 2010.Rosenhaus said that Brown is still searching for helmets made in 2011, the year the Schutt AiR Advantage was discontinued. As explained earlier today, the AiR Advantage was discontinued in 2009, but it’s possible that “maybe a couple thousand” additional helmets were made after 2009 for certain specific college and professional teams. As of 2011, Schutt stopped making the helmet. The NFL has not affirmatively banned the Schutt AiR Advantage, possibly due to the fact that it was discontinued. That loophole has provided an unlikely ending to an unlikely story, giving Brown a chance to wear his helmet of choice for at least one season with the Raiders, and possibly up to two more. Josh McDaniels and the Denver Broncos in the 2009 NFL Draft. He took a year or so to get going Womens Courtland Sutton Jersey , but first with Tim Tebow and then Peyton Manning, Thomas exploded onto the NFL scene and remained there. He finishes his career in Denver with 665 receptions for 9,055 yards and 60 touchdowns. All marks among the all-time leaders in Broncos history. He went to the Pro Bowl four times in nine seasons.Today, the Broncos traded Thomas to the Houston Texans for a fourth-round pick. What happens next, is Thomas completely embarrassing one defender before powering his way into the end zone for the score. Thomas went on to make plenty more big time plays and is a surefire lock for the Broncos Ring of Fame when he finally does retire. - Tim LynchMaking history with the G.O.A.T.My favorite moment from DT is all the amazing moments he gave us as fans, and the special connection he shared with Peyton Manning during their time together in Denver.Peyton Manning’s first ever touchdown pass for the Denver Broncos was a 71 yard house call to Demaryius Thomas.Peyton Manning’s 7th touchdown pass in a game, tying an NFL record, was to Demaryius Thomas.Peyton Manning’s 54th and 55th touchdowns of the 2013 season, which is an NFL record, were to Demaryius Thomas.Peyton Manning’s 509th touchdown to move past Brett Favre for most all-time was caught by Demaryius Thomas. And my favorite, when Peyton Manning retired, he said this in his farewell speech. “I’ll miss Demaryius Thomas telling me that he loved me and thanking me for coming to Denver after every touchdown I threw to him.”Well from the fans, we love you DT, and thank you for coming to Denver. - Jeff EssaryA championship attitudeI never wanted to trade Demaryius Thomas - not even for a second, despite any of the good “business reasons” we should do so.I am nostalgic for the days when teams had loyalty on both ends of that “business” equation, and I think DT gave the Broncos his best and deserved the right to start and finish his career a Denver Bronco.I don’t want to hear about his “drops.” He had five consecutive seasons of 90+ catches and 1,000 yards. He was one of the few Broncos to keep fighting through the debacle that was SB48. He has 60 received TDs, second in team history. His 36 100-yard games are the best in Broncos history. Getting to 600 catches in 112 games is the fastest in team history. So don’t tell me this guy didn’t produce. And I don’t want to hear that he gave up on this team. While he did benefit from future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, he also put up with Tim Tebow, Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch and Case Keenum without ever complaining. He spent a lot of time this offseason mentoring the guy who will replace him - Courtland Sutton.I loved DT’s quiet demeanor, his positive talk no matter the circumstances, his loyalty to the franchise, Mr. B and his teammates.DT is a pro’s pro, and the Broncos will miss him. I will miss him more. - Laurie Lattimore-VolkmannConsummate teammateFor me it’s not a single moment so much as it’s the player DT chose to be throughout his career in orange & blue. 114 consecutive games started, playoffs included. He was always out there forcing the other team to adjust how they played defense just to deal with him, no matter how tired or banged up he was. When the team fell apart vs the Seahawks in the Super Bowl, DT was the guy out there trying his hardest no matter what. He owns the most productive season ever played by a Denver Broncos receiver, plus two others in the top 5. And throughout all that he was a dependable, solid player and an excellent teammate. No matter the circumstances. Go back to 2018 training camp and you’ll find examples of him coaching up Sutton & Hamilton, doing everything he could to help two young guys succeed even though he fully realized that they were there to do what they did today: to take his job from him. There are plenty of people out there with a bad word to say about DT Womens Von Miller Jersey , but I’m not one of them. He wasn’t, and isn’t, a flawless player, but he was and is an incredible teammate and a quiet, steady leader. The Texans are getting a good one. And with Houston poised to likely win the AFC South this season, I can’t help but be happy for DT on one level, as he’ll get at least one last shot at a bit more NFL postseason glory before he hopefully signs the one-day contract that will put him back in orange & blue for good. - Taylor KotheAll of the aboveThere are so many people in Broncos Country that seemed to turn on Demaryius Thomas with the departure of Peyton Manning. I don’t know that I get it. He has always been one of the leaders on this team. He battled through injuries for much of his time in Denver, and made huge played. He was approaching many of the numbers put up by Rod Smith, and headed toward a spot in the Ring of Fame. I don’t have any one moment that I want to write about. I’d rather just be thankful for the time and effort he gave to the Denver Broncos, the community, and Broncos Country. I wish him well in the future, and I know he always has a place in Broncos Country. - Adam MalnatiBeing a Pat Bowlen BroncoWe remember the 80-yard touchdown catch that sent Broncos Country into delirium. We remember the effort he put forth in Super Bowl XLVIII when he recorded 13 catches for 118 yards and a touchdown. DT is one of the greatest Broncos in history, and he’s one of, if not the most, under appreciated and undervalued players in team history. We know the stats (see Laurie’s post above for a refresher). But what I will always appreciate, remember and value the most is that DT is a Pat Bowlen Bronco. What is that? A player who shows up everyday and goes to work. He doesn’t bitch, complain or whine. He doesn’t make excuses. He does his job. At the same point, he does incredible work in the community to not much fan fare. So he not only makes the team/organization better, he makes the community better. That’s a Pat Bowlen Bronco. That’s a member of the organization fans can be proud of. As someone who had the opportunity to cover Thomas, he always had a smile on his face. That’s contagious and not easily replaced in the locker room. I get the move from a business side, but I hate it from fan side. My hope is DT tears it up with the Texans. Thank you, DT. - Ian St. ClairOh and this...Share your favorite DT moment with the Broncos in the comments section below. Odom noted that when Missouri fell to 4-4 last season after a gut wrenching loss on the last play of the game for that fourth loss, Lock rallied the team to win out to finish 8-4. It was just the 17th time in school history where they won eight games in a season. After noting Lock had three different coordinators in four years, Odom went on to say that Lock has shown the ability to grow from relying only on arm talent to improving his game in all areas each year in college. He would expect Lock to do the same as a back up to Joe Flacco. Odom believes Lock’s versatility of having played under multiple schemes in his four years in college will allow him to adapt quickly to the NFL. Wrapping things up, Odom talked about Lock being an outstanding leader of his football team. The perception that he wasn’t a vocal leader in college would appear to be a bit overblown.
