Instead, New York turned to a two-time All-Star coming off a strong Antworten

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Mets have agreed to a $19 million Gregor Blanco Jersey , two-year contract with free agent catcher Wilson Ramos, according to a person familiar with the negotiations. The agreement signals an end to the Mets’ pursuit of Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto. year with the Tampa Bay Rays and Philadelphia Phillies. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Sunday because the deal has not been announced and is pending a physical. He would get $8.25 million next year and $9.25 in 2020, and the Mets would have a $10 million option with a $1.5 million buyout. The 31-year-old Ramos batted .306 with 15 home runs and an .845 OPS last season, ranking fifth among catchers in Wins Above Replacement at 2.4, via Fangraphs.New York officials met last week with Ramos at the winter meetings in Las Vegas and with Yasmani Grandal, another free agent catcher, in Arizona. Ramos became the priority for the Mets, partly because of compensation required for signing Grandal, who turned down a $17.9 million qualifying offer from the Los Angeles Dodgers. If New York had signed Grandal http://www.giantsfanproshop.com/authentic-evan-longoria-jersey , the Mets would have forfeited their second-highest pick in next June’s amateur draft and $500,000 of international signing bonus allocation in 2019-20.The Mets also discussed a possible trade for Realmuto but decided the players it would have had to give up in a swap were too high a cost.Ramos crosses another item of the to-do list of new general manager Brodie Van Wagenen. The former agent acquired All-Star second baseman Robinson Cano and closer Edwin Diaz from Seattle and also brought back former New York closer Jeurys Familia on a $30 million, three-year deal. The team may still pursue an upgrade in center field and a left-handed reliever.Ramos is expected to be New York’s primary catcher, with Travis d’Arnaud and Kevin Plawecki as possible backups. D’Arnaud, who turns 30 in February, has been on the disabled list in five straight seasons as injuries limited him to 366 major league games, an average of 73 per season.D’Arnaud was 3 for 15 (.200) with one homer and three RBIs in four games this year when he felt tightness in his right elbow during pregame drills in Miami. He was sent to New York and had an MRI that revealed a torn ulnar collateral ligament. Mets medical director Dr. David Altchek performed Tommy John surgery on April 17.Ramos made the AL All-Star team in this year but missed the game with a hamstring issue, and injuries have been a problem for him the past few years. Most notably, he tore his right ACL at the end of a breakout 2016 season with the Washington Nationals, likely costing himself millions of dollars as a free agent that offseason. He ended up with Tampa Bay with a $12.5 million Duane Kuiper Jersey , two-year deal and earned an additional $2 million this year as an escalator for making 55 starts at catcher in 2017He was also on the disabled list twice in 2015 — with a broken little finger in his right hand and a strained left elbow — in 2016 with a strained right rotator cuff and in 2017 with a bruised right wrist.Ramos’ agreement was first reported by The Athletic and details of the terms by The New York Times. 20 players from the Angels org are currently playing ball in Arizona and the Caribbean"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Angels PregameAngels PostgameGamethreadsHalos Heaven PodcastsShohei OhtaniMinor LeaguesInterviewsAngels NewsMinor LeaguesAngels winter and fall league updatesNew,17comments20 players from the Angels org are currently playing ball in Arizona and the Caribbean ByJessica DeLine@abaseballchickOct 25, 2018,3:00pm PDTShareTweetShareShareAngels winter and fall league updatesSome of them have big league playing time. Some are waiting for their big break. The MLB season may be over for all except 2 teams, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t some baseball being played.Arizona Fall League (AFL)Roberto Baldoquin (IF) - It seemed like Baldoquin may have been figuring it out at bit during the regular season but so far in the AFL he’s hitting 0.095 with a .174 OBP in 21 ABs. Jahmai Jones (2B) - Jones is looking good in the fall league and his hitting .300 with a.432 OBP. His patience at the plate is showing. He’s struck out 9 times to 6 walks over his 8 games and has also stolen 2 bases in 4 attempts.David MacKinnon (1B) - He had a solid minor league season with a combined .417 OBP across A and high A ball. He has just a single hit in his 17 fall at bats so far and has struck out 8 times (nearly a 50% rate) with 7 walks.Jesus Castillo (RHP) - Castillo has had a pair of 3 innings starts, the first of which went pretty well and the later saw him getting knocked around pretty bad. Overall he has given up 10 hits and 5 runs in 6 innings of work. 7 of those hits and all of the runs came in his last start.Ryan Clark (RHP) - He was lights out in AA but lit up like a Christmas tree in AAA this year. So far int he AFL he has allowed just 1 hit and 3 walks over 4 innings. He has walked 1 and struck out one in each of his 3 appearances.Brett Hanewich (RHP) - Hanewich has looked good this fall so far with zero runs allowed over his 6 innings. He has also struck out 10 and allowed 4 hits and 3 walks. Despite his zero runs allowed, he has a record of 2-2 which shows you how messed up win and loss records can be.Daniel Procopio (RHP) - He struggled for Mobile this year but in the AFL so far has allowed only 2 runs over 7 innings and 4 appearances.Liga de Beisbol Dominicano (LIDOM)Michael Hermosillo (OF) - We certainly saw a bit of Hermosillo on the big league team this year where he hit only .211. Through 10 ABs he has 2 hits and 3 Ks.Mayky Perez (RHP) - Perez was really good for Burlington in season but hasn’t thrown much in this league. He made one appearance and gave up 2 hits and walk - not even recording a single out before being pulled.Ivan Pineryro (RHP) - Just 1.1 innings so far and he allowed 1 unearned run, 2 hits, and struck out 1.Jeremy Rhoades (RHP) - Rhoades had a sharp regular season and is putting up more of the same numbers here. He has made 4 appearances and allowed zero runs or walks over 4.1 innings.Liga Venezuela Beisbol Profesional (LVBP)Zach Houchins (3B) - Houchins spent the regular season at the AA and AAA levels putting up some pretty decent numbers. He has a .235 AVG in 34 ABs this winter and has struck out 12 times with 3 walks.Jose Rojas (3B) - Rojas is tearing up the LVBP with a .423 AVG and .500 OBP through 8 games. He also has 3 doubles, 2 triples http://www.giantsfanproshop.com/authentic-evan-longoria-jersey , and a home runs. He’s walked (4) more times than he has struck out (2). He leads the LVBP in OPS.Greyfer Eregua (RHP) - Released by the Cubs early last year, he’s found a home in the Angels system. He only threw 6 innings in the regular season, presumably due to injury. Though 4 games and 3.1 innings in the LVBP he hasn’t given up a run or walk and has struck out 3 and allowed 2 hits.Osmer Morales (RHP) - Morales had a rough season for Salt Lake and is trying to put that behind him. Unfortunately, he’s having a rough fall so far with 4 runs allowed in 7 innings. In those 2 starts, he’s given up 7 hits and 3 walks.Akeel Morris (RHP) - Morris has allowed only 1 ER, and 3 hits over his 4.1 innings. He hasn’t notched a single strikeout in his 3 appearances so far.Eduardo Paredes (RHP) - Paredes wasn’t fooling anyone in the regular season and isn’t fooling anyone now. He has allowed 5 hits and a walk over 2.1 innings in 3 games.Dylan Unsworth (RHP) - In two starts he’s given up 3 runs and 10 hits over 11 innings. He’s also struck out 9 and walked none.Liga Mexicana del Pacifico (LMP)Sherman Johnson (2B) - Through 8 games, Johnson has a .412 AVG and .500 OBP. He also has 4 doubles and 3 stolen bases.Eric Young Jr. (OF) - EYJ is 12 for 40 with a .391 OBP and 3 stolen bases in 4 attempts. Pretty sure he’s one of the oldest guys in the LMP.
