MIAMI (AP) —st two regular season games. The early offensive malaise finally ended Saturday night.Miguel Rojas and Martin Prado each had three hits http://www.diamondbacksfanproshop.com/authentic-zack-greinke-jersey , and the Marlins won for the first time this season, beating the Colorado Rockies 7-3.Limited to a total of six hits in a pair of losses to Colorado earlier this week, the Marlins broke loose for 16 hits against starter Tyler Anderson and four relievers.“We put things together today,” Rojas said. “We’re not going to depend on the three-run homer. That’s for sure. But if it happens, it will be great.”It wasn’t even the biggest loss of the day for Colorado. First baseman Daniel Murphy, signed to a two-year deal during the offseason, said after the game he had broken the index finger on his left hand and is out indefinitely.Miami’s Lewis Brinson, who scored twice, Rossell Herrera and Chad Wallach each had two hits. Rojas doubled twice and drove in three runs.“A lot of firsts tonight, we got our first win out of the way,” Miami manager Don Mattingly said. “We had a lot of guys who didn’t have hits, they had hits. There is a lot of size in that room right now.”Pablo Lopez (1-0) allowed five hits and three runs and struck out a career-high seven in 5 1/3 innings. He was lifted after retiring Trevor Story on a flyball that ended an 11-pitch at-bat.“Tough guy, great hitter,” Lopez said of Story. “He has a good approach, smart. It’s a battle. I tried to mix all my pitches. I gave everything I had. I had my defense behind me. It felt really good winning that little battle there.”Lopez’s performance followed his solid spring in which he went 3-0 with an 0.90 ERA in 20 2/3 innings.Five Marlins relievers kept Colorado scoreless through the final 3 2/3 innings.Rojas and Herrera capitalized on Anderson’s first pitches with hits that keyed a three-run fourth for a 5-2 lead. Rojas’ double to left center scored two and Herrera followed with an RBI single.Anderson (0-1) gave up five runs Andrew Chafin Jersey , nine hits and struck out four in five innings.Miami added two runs in the seventh on Prado’s RBI single and Curtis Granderson’s safety squeeze bunt single that scored Brinson.“The big blow was the first-pitch fastball to Rojas for the double that scored a couple of runs,” Colorado manager Bud Black said.WEB GEMSNot lost in the Marlins offensive output were standout defensive plays by 3B Brian Anderson and OF Brinson. Anderson dived for Chris Iannetta’s hard grounder down the line, reached his feet and threw high to first, where Prado leaped and tagged Iannetta out to start the fifth. Iannetta was robbed again in the eighth, when Brinson dove and grabbed his sinking liner to center.TRAINER’S ROOMRockies: Murphy injured the finger while diving to stop a sharp grounder in the fourth inning of Friday’s game against Miami. Although Murphy remained in the game and had his first hit as a Rockie in the ninth, swelling on his finger worsened overnight. Murphy got X-rays on Saturday and will visit a hand specialist Monday.Marlins: P Jose Urena expects to make his second start against the New York Mets on Tuesday as he recovers from the line drive he took behind his left leg off a hit ball by Dahl in the second inning of the season opener Thursday.UP NEXTRHP Jon Gray will start the series finale for the Rockies on Sunday while the Marlins will go with RHP Sandy Alcantara. For a team that wasn’t supposed to have any pitching, there were plenty of memorable outings"As we get ready to turn the calendar over to 2019, we wanted to take a look back at some of the more memorable moments in 2018. Today we take a look at some of the best pitching performances we saw, from record-setting debuts to record-setting relief outings. We’re limiting ourselves to 5 here, although these are in no particular order. We’re sure to have missed a few other noteworthy performances because of that — feel free to share yours in the comments.Freddy PeraltaMay 13th vs. Colorado5.2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 13 KThe 21-year-old Peralta set a franchise record for most strikeouts in a debut, fanning 13 Rockies as his mom watched him pitch for the first time ever as a pro -- on Mother’s Day. You couldn’t write a better script. Not only did Peralta break a Brewers record Alex Avila Jersey , but he was the first pitcher since pre-injury Matt Harvey in 2012 to strike out double-digit batters in his first career start and put up the most since Stephen Strasburg struck out 14 in what might’ve been the best (and most hyped) debut ever in 2010.Jhoulys ChacinAugust 14th vs. Chicago7 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 10 KChacin was the Brewers’ most consistent starter for much of the year, but this was the outing where he looked like the team’s bonafide ace. In the first of two important games in Chicago against the division-leading Cubs, the Brewers finally got to nemesis Jose Quintana (including Ryan Braun’s “LET’S FUNNING GO” moment in the first inning), and Chacin never gave the Cubs a chance, striking out a season-high 10 and only allowed three runners to reach second base. While the Brewers were still 2 games behind the Cubs in the standings after this win, it did force a tie in the all-important Win Column at the time. Freddy PeraltaJune 26th vs. Kansas City7 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 10 KArguably more impressive than his debut, Peralta’s 4th career start was much of the same http://www.diamondbacksfanproshop.com/authentic-zack-greinke-jersey , flying through the Royals’ order with ease, and working much more efficiently than his first start. This outing made 3 of his first 4 starts scoreless outings, and the second time he allowed just 1 hit despite throwing almost nothing but fastballs. Teams started to hit Peralta more after this start, but he still showed he could be a quality rotation arm.Josh HaderSeptember 10th vs. Chicago2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 KThis wasn’t the only time Hader struck out every batter he faced in 2018, but it might’ve been one of the most impactful. As the Brewers tried to chase down the Cubs in the NL Central race in September, Hader mowed down the heart of the Cubs’ lineup, throwing 19 of his 24 pitches for strikes. In order, he got David Bote swinging, Addison Russell swinging, Daniel Murphy swinging, Kris Bryant swinging Jake Lamb Jersey , Anthony Rizzo swinging, and Javier Baez looking. He handed the ball off to Jeremy Jeffress, who struck out 2 more in the 9th, to secure a one-run Brewers win and get the Cream City Nine within one game of the Cubs.Josh HaderApril 30th vs. Cincinnati2.2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 KIt’s hard not to pick this as the top pitching performance of the year, considering it broke an (admittedly obscure) MLB record for most strikeouts in an outing shorter than 3 innings. Every out Hader recorded was a strikeout, and none of the Reds facing him were particularly close to making contact. The outing capped off a dominant first month of the year for Hader -- he finished April with 39 strikeouts in 18 innings -- and put his name on the map in terms of national coverage.Statistics courtesy of Baseball-Reference
