Breitling Launches Limited Edition Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Astronaut Wempe Signature Collection



The Swiss luxury watch brand, in collaboration with German watch and jewelry retailer Wempe, has launched the limited edition Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Astronaut Wempe Signature Collection (model: AB02304A1L1P1), combining classic design with modern technology, based on the Breitling Navitimer watch worn by astronaut Scott Carpenter in 1962.

The new watch has a diameter of 41 mm and a thickness of 13 mm, a reduction in size compared to the original (43 mm diameter), making it more versatile. The case is crafted from stainless steel and features a double-sided anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a bidirectional rotating bezel, the iconic circular slide rule, and a transparent case back. It is water-resistant to 30 meters.

The dial features a deep, rich green hue, with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) logo at 12 o'clock (24 o'clock). The hour markers use a classic 24-hour system and are coated with an aged Super-LumiNova luminescent material, emitting a green glow in the dark for a vintage feel.

Subdials are located at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, serving as 30-minute, 12-hour, and small seconds counters respectively. These subdials are recessed and decorated with circular textures, giving the dial a unique three-dimensional look. The hour, minute, and second hands, as well as the chronograph hands, are plated in 18K rose gold, with the hour and minute hands inlaid with white Super-LumiNova luminescent material. The central chronograph seconds hand has a red lacquer tip for a striking appearance. A date window is also located at 6 o'clock.

This timepiece is powered by the B02 manual-winding movement, which contains 39 jewels, vibrates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and features a column wheel and vertical clutch mechanism, providing a 70-hour power reserve. It is certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). The beautiful rhodium plating, bar-finish, and sunburst finish can be admired through the transparent case back.

The Breitling Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Astronaut Wempe Signature Collection comes with a dark brown alligator leather strap and a stainless steel folding clasp.
