ORCHARD PARK Kyle Williams Jerseys Stitched , N.Y. (AP)Mark Ingram scored a career-best three touchdowns and the New Orleans Saints won their seventh straight game by plowing through a porous Buffalo Bills defense in a 47-10 rout on Sunday. Alvin Kamara also had a 3-yard touchdown rushing as the Saints blew the game open by scoring five times on their first six possessions, not including a one-play series to close the first half. Ingram finished with 131 yards rushing by scoring twice from 3 yards , and another on a 1-yard plunge. The Saints finished with 298 yards rushing and 32 first downs.Article continues below ... Their defense was just as dominating in limiting Buffalo to 198 yards, and 10 first downs. And five of those first downs came on Buffalo’s meaningless final drive that ended with backup quarterback Nathan Peterman hitting Nick O’Leary on a 7-yard touchdown pass. New Orleans set a franchise record by scoring six touchdowns rushing, and it marked the most allowed by Buffalo in team history. Even Saints quarterback Drew Brees got involved in the run of rushing touchdowns by scrambling in from 6 yards to put New Orleans up 37-3 in the final minute of the third quarter. Trey Edmunds capped the scoring with a 41-yard touchdown run with 3:04 left. The Saints never punted, with the only thing to stop them was tight end Josh Hill losing a fumble at the Buffalo 9 in the first quarter. The Saints (7-2) haven’t lost since dropping their first two games of the season to match their longest winning streak since closing the 2011 season 8-0. New Orleans has already matched its win total from each of the past three seasons. The Bills (5-4) simply unraveled in losing their second straight and while dropping to 4-1 at home. The most notable cheer came with 4:53 remaining when Peterman replaced Tyrod Taylor and then immediately hit Deonte Thompson for a 10-yard reception along the right sideline. After Stephen Hauschka capped a nine-play, 57-yard opening drive with a 37-yard field goal, the Bills never crossed midfield over their next eight possessions. Taylor finished 9 of 19 for 56 yards and an interception. LeSean MCcoy was bottled up in finishing with 49 yards rushing and another 11 receiving. As for the Bills defense Youth Doug Flutie Jerseys , it followed up a poor-tackling effort in allowing 194 yards rushing and three touchdowns rushing in a 34-21 loss at the New York Jets on Nov. 2. Buffalo allowed a season-worst 482 yards. PICK BUT NO 6 Saints DT Sheldon Rankins nearly scored on an interception return only to be pushed out of bounds at the Bills 3 on Buffalo’s opening drive of the second half. Taylor’s pass over the middle hit tight end Charles Clay in the chest and bounced directly into Rankins’ hands. Ingram scored his third TD on the next play from scrimmage. BENJAMIN DEBUT Kelvin Benjamin, like much of the rest of the Bills offense, was rendered invisible in making his debut after being acquired in a trade with Carolina on Oct. 31. He finished with three catches for a team-best 42 yards. INJURIES Saints: Backup running back Daniel Lasco had feelings in his extremities after sustaining a spine injury while tackling Buffalo’s Brandon Tate on a kickoff return six minutes into the second quarter. Lasco moved his leg and briefly raised his arm as he was loaded into an ambulance and transported to a Buffalo-area hospital. Bills: DE Jerry Hughes did not return after hurting his shin late in the second quarter. INACTIVES/ACTIVES Saints: Starting offensive linemen Terron Armstead (chest) and Larry Warford (abdomen) are active despite being listed as questionable on the Saints final injury report. Bills: TE Charles Clay returned after missing three games with a left knee injury. LT Cordy Glenn (left ankle/foot) and WR Zay Jones (left ankle/knee) did not play after both were hurt in a 34-21 loss at the Jets on Nov. 2. UP NEXT Saints: Host Washington on Nov. 19. Bills: Play next two on road starting at Los Angeles Chargers on Nov. 19. — Another day, another report that the Buffalo Bills are seeking to upgrade their wide receiver corps via a trade. Late Tuesday, word came down that the Bills were “on the hunt” for a receiver and today they are “kicking the tires” on wide receivers, according to The MMQB’s Albert Breer.“Among those that have kicked the tires on adding at the position, with the caveat that these talks can simply be exploratory, have been the Saints Doug Flutie Jerseys Stitched , Bills, Eagles and Packers,” wrote Breer on Thursday, echoing ESPN reporter Dan Graziano’s tweets from Tuesday.Breer mentioned that the Bills were in on Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, who was traded to the San Francisco 49ers for a third-round pick and a mid-round pick swap. He also went on to name some names currently thought to be on the market.“Two names that have been floating around out there at the position won’t excite people like A.J. Green would—Jets’ Robby Anderson and Browns’ Rashard Higgins. The former, naturally, would come at a higher cost than the latter.”Being in the division, it’s unlikely the Jets would trade Anderson to the Bills for a price Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane would be willing to pay. Similarly Youth Jim Kelly Jerseys , with Buffalo still on Cleveland’s schedule, a trade for Higgins is probably not likely either. (Beane mentioned in a radio hit this week that is often something teams look at in trade talks.) Miami Dolphins wideout DeVante Parker would be in a similar boat.Since Buffalo has already played the Bengals, a trade for A.J. Green could happen, but Beane won’t give up a premium pick without an assurance that Green would sign long term. After the game Sunday, Nelson Agholor of the Philadelphia Eagles and Taylor Gabriel of the Chicago Bears are two names that have been floated and who could be in play.

Only the Miami Dolphins (-7) are worse. Golden Tate has more years of experience, but Sterling Shepard has played for the Giants longer than any other wideout on the team. Shepard, 26, has played three seasons in New York and signed his four-year contract extension Friday.Shepard and Tate, who has played nine NFL seasons, become the leaders in the receivers room with Odell Beckham Jr. now in Cleveland. “I’m ready Color Rush Julian Love Jersey ,” Shepard told Michael Eisen of the team website. “With Odell going down the last two seasons [with injuries], that time definitely helped me get a grasp of what being a leader is all about, and being that lead guy in the room. I think it prepared me for this moment. I was pretty vocal anyway. I’m a pretty vocal guy. That will be no problem.“I’m no longer a young guy. I’m a vet now. This contract says a lot, so I’m going to handle it the right way.”Besides Shepard and Tate, the Giants have Cody Latimer, Bennie Fowler Youth Julian Love Jersey , Corey Coleman, Jawill Davis, Alonzo Russell, Brittan Golden and Russell Shepard competing for jobs. The Giants also could draft a receiver or two. They will have to make up for Beckham’s production. Beckham averaged 6.6 catches for 92.8 yards and almost one touchdown a game in his 59 games.“We have no shortage of talent,” Sterling Shepard said. “Those guys are ballers, and they can get the job done. When they’re put in that position Womens Julian Love Jersey , they’re always going to execute. I have all the trust in those guys. I feel we’re going to pick up right where we left off. The last five games were the best games we played in the season. We just have to fine-tune some little things. Once we do that, we’ll be fine.”

Jets who believed in that rebuilding-program message White Brian Winters Jerseys , their teams have handed them a big “never mind” this week. For fans of the Giants and Steelers, well, maybe that rebuilding tag should be placed on them.During the frenzied two days of “legal tampering” before the NFL’s 2019 business year begins — and even beforehand in Oakland’s case —the future became now for Jon Gruden and Adam Gase. All that talk about setting a solid foundation through the draft and youngsters? A lot of it was just talk.Gruden’s first season in his return as Oakland’s coach was lowlighted by dealing away perhaps his two best players, Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper. The word was that having three first-round draft choices this April would provide a strong base for the franchise when it arrives in Las Vegas next year. The magic word now for the Raiders is spend. They are bringing in pro football’s best receiver of the last decade, Antonio Brown, and giving him more than $50 million over the next three years, with $30 million guaranteed. They agreed to a $66 million contract ($36.75 million guaranteed) with left tackle Trent Brown, whose blocking not only filled a void in New England but helped the Patriots to another championship. And the Raiders will be paying $42 million over four years for safety Lamarcus Joyner .These are not negative moves. If Trent Brown plays the way he did protecting Tom Brady, Derek Carr will do a lot more smiling. Having Antonio Brown as a target — until the wideout begins complaining he isn’t getting enough action — also will bring a wide grin to Carr’s face. And Joyner is better than nearly all of Oakland’s defenders. But when did the frugality that cost them Mack, arguably the NFL’s best defensive player, and the long-range plan that led to Cooper’s departure turn into opening the vault so wide?At least the Jets were more transparent in their approach . They believe they found their franchise quarterback last spring when they drafted Sam Darnold, and they had been pointing to the 2019 offseason — and more than $82 million of cap space — to fill in holes.Still, their spending spree also indicates they’ve become impatient in pursuit of a turnaround in a division where, frankly Brian Winters Jerseys 2019 , combining the rosters of the Jets, Bills and Dolphins might not provide a team capable of knocking the Patriots from their throne.New York’s additions should help lift the Jets from the depths of the AFC, though. C.J. Mosley is a quality linebacker who was overshadowed by Terrell Suggs and Eric Weddle in Baltimore. He gets a monstrous deal of $85 million over five years, with $51 guaranteed. Such money means the Jets expect to get an All-Pro caliber player. The Jets also dived into the receivers pool, but not like the Raiders and Browns did. Adding Jamison Crowder and Josh Bellamy bolsters a mediocre pass-catching corps, but not significantly.Where the Jets are making a huge step toward respectability is bringing in Le’Veon Bell , the best player in this crop and exactly the kind of weapon Darnold needs to help his development. Yes, there are concerns Bell could be rusty, and he’s one wrong off-field move away from a lengthy league suspension. He’s also the right fit for a club whose best recent successes came with high-quality running backs such as Hall of Famers Curtis Martin and LaDainian Tomlinson and the dependable Thomas Jones. With Bell in the Meadowlands and Brown in the Bay Area, the Steelers have taken some huge hits. Their streakiness won’t disappear as they retool, and there are question marks throughout their roster. As for the Giants, the furor over the departures of two of their three best players, Beckham and Landon Collins — he went to division-rival Washington — already is intense. It will grow until the draft, when perhaps the team’s fans will calm down should New York land its replacement for 38-year-old quarterback Eli Manning. This question lingers White Bilal Powell Jerseys , though: Why re-sign Beckham last year, making him the highest-paid wideout in NFL history, then make this deal? Perhaps the Giants saw how Brown maneuvered his way out of Pittsburgh for less than equal value and feared a disgruntled Beckham would try the same.Regardless, it certainly seems off-kilter that the folks who wear green to MetLife Stadium are being praised, and those who wear blue are being excoriated. I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. Shout out to Mr. Wells for holding down the fort over the weekend. As training camp continues, the Jets have gotten their first player with a major injury in OT Brent Qvale. Although this is devastating for Qvale the person, I think this actually helps the Jets to see what they have in possible future players like 2019 pick Chuma Edoga, and Tom Compton — just to name a couple. Let’s remember, it’s not like Qvale was an above average player. Being on a team with a horrible O-line for 4 years without cracking the starting rotation is pretty underwhelming, though that says more about the Jets than Qvale. Let’s just hope that he is the only major injury suffered to the team during this season, because health is one of many key factors that can help push a team into the playoffs. this week with a primer on what we know so far for the Packers."The NFL has announced when the announcement will happen — the league will release its 2019 schedule on Wednesday evening at 8:00 PM Eastern. Until then http://www.packerslockerroom.com/authentic-dave-robinson-jersey , however, we have little information about when the Green Bay Packers will be playing after week one. However, we do know when the Packers’ first regular season game will be, and we also know who the team will be playing along with where. Here’s everything you need to know to get ready for the schedule release this week.Opening WeekThe Packers will open the season on Thursday Night Football, playing the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. This is the first year in over a decade that the defending Super Bowl champions are not opening the season, and the rationale is historical in nature. After all, the Bears and Packers are the NFL’s longest-running rivalry, so the league elected to start off its historic 100th season with the 199th meeting between the two legendary franchises.Packers’ 2019 Regular Season OpponentsThe Packers’ opponents for the upcoming season are already decided by the league’s schedule rotation. Green Bay will play every other team in the NFC North twice, once at home and once on the road. They will then face the NFC East and AFC West as their rotational divisions, with the final two games dependent on their finish in the standings in 2019. The Packers finished third in the NFC North, so they draw the third-place team in the NFC South at home and the third-place NFC West team on the road.Home GamesNFC North: Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Minnesota VikingsNFC East: Philadelphia Eagles http://www.packerslockerroom.com/authentic-j_mon-moore-jersey , WashingtonAFC West: Denver Broncos, Oakland RaidersNFC South: Carolina PanthersRoad GamesNFC North Opponents: Chicago Bears (week 1), Detroit Lions, Minnesota VikingsNFC East: Dallas Cowboys, New York GiantsAFC West: Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles ChargersNFC West: San Francisco 49ersPreseason ScheduleThe NFL announced the preseason schedule of games about a week ago. However, the Packers will still get two home games regardless. Through the first 12 games of the 2019 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers were on pace to set a record for ineptitude in a specific area. Green Bay’s punt return game has been historically bad this season, netting a loss of eight yards on nine punt return attempts through week 13 and threatening the league’s single-season-low mark of 27 yards, set by the 1965 St. Louis Cardinals.Last Monday, the Packers made a change in their return man. The Packers claimed Tyler Ervin off waivers from Jacksonville and released Tremon Smith, the team’s returner for much of the season. And in just one game Lance Kendricks Jersey White , Ervin likely pulled the Packers clear of setting a new low mark in league history. On Sunday against Washington, Ervin racked up 51 punt return yards on four attempts, bringing the Packers’ total up to 43 yards on the season. That puts them 16 yards clear of the record, and it is unfathomable that even the Packers’ abysmal return game could lose 16 yards over the next three games to pull back even with that mark.Ervin not only recorded the longest individual return (18 yards) since Jaire Alexander’s 23-yarder in week 13 last season; he posted the highest single-game punt return yardage total for the team since week 17 of the 2017 season, when Trevor Davis took three returns for 56 yards. Furthermore, every one of Ervin’s four returns went for at least 10 yards, with gains of 10, 12, 18, and 11 yards in order. The Packers have yet to see if Ervin can provide any juice on kickoff returns. He did not return any kickoffs in the game, as Washington attempted one onside kick and their two other kickoffs went for touchbacks. But at least he ensured that the team will avoid a historically bad season in one specific area and will stay out of the record books for that phase of the game.
impact on Thursday night’s game Aaron Rodgers Jersey , and Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was not happy about it.LaFleur said after the loss to the Eagles that he was baffled by the calls, and he hinted that he’d like to say more but the NFL would fine him.“I really don’t know what pass interference is anymore,” LaFleur said. “I’ll just leave it at that.”The Eagles were given a touchdown when replay overruled an offensive pass interference call, in a surprise departure for NFL head of officiating Al Riveron, who had previously been very reluctant to overturn calls on the field. But later, when LaFleur challenged what appeared to be textbook defensive pass interference on a pass to Marquez Valdes-Scantling, the officiating office let the call stand. On the Packers’ final offensive play, an Aaron Rodgers interception, Troy Aikman suggested on the FOX broadcast that the Eagles could have been flagged for interference, but the officials didn’t review the replay.Philadelphia wasn’t thrilled with the officiating either, as coach Doug Pederson also lost a pass interference challenge. What has become clear early in this NFL season is that replay review of pass interference is no panacea. Officiating remains as controversial as ever. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Aaron Rodgers refused to sit this one out, even with the playoffs out of the question. And he willed the Green Bay Packers from setting some dubious franchise history.A banged-up Rodgers threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams with 6:23 left in overtime Clay Matthews Jersey , capping an eye-popping performance by leading the Packers to a wild 44-38 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday. The win was the Packers’ first on the road this season — snapping a nine-game skid away from Lambeau Field dating to last season — and it prevented them from becoming the first Green Bay squad since 1958 to go an entire season without a win away from home.Article continues below ...“It’s good for the young guys to see what the locker room on the road feels like with a win, what the plane flight feels like,” Rodgers said. “How special that plane ride is after a road victory.”And this one was all on Rodgers, who was masterful in the fourth quarter and the overtime period for the Packers (6-8-1).He threw for 442 yards and touchdowns to Adams and Jake Kumerow, and also ran for two scores — his first since the 2016 season. That’s despite a groin issue that nagged him last week, and a knee ailment that has bothered him all season. Rodgers was intent on playing, and believed it proved something.“That it matters, even when the record isn’t great and you’re not going to the playoffs,” he said. “That I have a lot of pride. I love competing in anything. I don’t want to look back in 20 years and wonder, ‘What if I had played that game? Could something special have happened? What would it look like to my teammates if they knew I kind of quit on them?’ I hope my teammates know I’m never going to quit on them.“I’m going to battle through anything I’ve got, and they did the same.”They certainly did, erasing a 15-point fourth-quarter deficit and improving to 2-1 under interim coach Joe Philbin, who replaced the fired Mike McCarthy earlier this month.“I think it speaks a lot about the character of the guys Mike Daniels Jersey ,” Philbin said. “They never stopped believing that they could get the job done.”The loss for the Jets (4-11) overshadowed a dazzling performance by rookie quarterback Sam Darnold, who threw for a career-high 341 yards — but never got a chance with the ball in overtime. Darnold was 24 of 35 passing with TDs to Robby Anderson, Chris Herndon and Elijah McGuire, who also ran for a score.“As an offense, we’ve just got to finish,” Darnold said. “We had a chance to put the game away.”It was also likely the final home game for coach Todd Bowles, who’s expected to be fired after next week’s game at New England. The Jets were done in by penalties, getting called for a whopping 16 that cost them 172 yards. Bowles was critical of the officiating crew, saying some of the calls against New York shouldn’t have happened.“I haven’t seen one like that in my 18, 19 years in the league,” Bowles said. “I thought we were playing two teams: I thought we were playing the Packers and the striped shirts.”After the Packers won the OT toss and elected to receive, Rodgers took over — as he has so many times throughout his career. On third-and-10 from the Packers 40, Rodgers got hit as he was throwing and his pass to Marquez Valdes-Scantling hung in the air and fell incomplete — but Trumaine Johnson was called for pass interference Brett Favre Jersey , putting the ball at the Jets 27. Moments later, a pass interference call on Buster Skrine gave the Packers the ball at the 6.Rodgers ran it in — but right tackle Bryan Bulaga was called for holding. On the next play, Rodgers found Adams in the back of the end zone for the rare road victory.“It would have been pretty pathetic if would have gone the entire season without one,” Adams said. That all came after Rodgers went over a pile and reached past the goal line for a go-ahead 1-yard touchdown with 1:13 left in regulation, giving Green Bay its first lead. Rodgers’ initial 2-point conversion try was intercepted by Darryl Roberts — but Roberts was called for defensive holding. Rodgers then ran it in to make it 38-35, finishing off a terrific drive that included a 23-yard run to get the ball to the 1.Andre Roberts, selected to his first Pro Bowl earlier in the week, returned the ensuing kickoff 51 yards to put the Jets in good shape. Darnold completed passes of 9 and 14 yards to get the Jets to the Green Bay 15. But three straight passes fell incomplete and New York settled for a tying 33-yard field goal by Jason Myers with 17 seconds left in regulation.SPECIAL SPECIAL TEAMSRoberts returned a kickoff 99 yards for a score late in the first half, the second of his career, to highlight a solid outing by New York’s special teams unit.Rontez Miles took a direct snap on a punt on fourth-and-1 from the Jets 31 in the fourth quarter and ran up the middle for 4 yards and a first down. Anthony Wint also forced a fumble on a kickoff earlier in the game. The one hiccup came on the game’s opening drive, when Jason Myers — picked for his first Pro Bowl — was wide left on a 45-yard attempt.LEO LOSES COOLJets defensive end Leonard Williams was ejected after throwing a punch at Bulaga in the second quarter. The penalty gave the Packers the ball at the Jets 7.Jamaal Williams took the ensuing handoff, stayed in bounds after a hit by Jamal Adams and stretched his body — and the ball — over the goal line for a TD that made it 21-14 with 1:33 left.INJURIESPackers LG Lane Taylor hurt a knee in the first quarter and CB Jaire Alexander injured his groin in the first half. Neither returned.UP NEXTPackers: Host Detroit next Sunday.Jets: At New England next Sunday.
Kicker Blair Walsh Brett Favre Jersey , a solid performer for four seasons until missing a chip shot that would have vaulted the Vikings past the Seahawks in the 2015 playoffs, will be getting another chance to show what he can do.Manish Mehta of the reports that Walsh will audition for the Jets. The Jets are exploring their options due to the struggles of Chandler Catanzaro, who missed two extra points in the team’s preseason opener.Walsh stayed with Minnesota into the 2016 season, but that postseason miss gave him a case of the yips; he missed eight kicks in nine games before getting the boot. Walsh kicked for the Seahawks in 2017 and was out of football last season. For his career Adam Thielen Jersey , Walsh has made 82.4 percent of his field goals, but only 73.3 percent in 2016 and 2017 combined.Per Mehta, the Jets will also work out Chris Blewitt, who has spent time over the last two years with the Steelers and Bears but who has never been on a regular-season roster. For Vikings fans Stefon Diggs Jersey , Walsh’s potential return to the NFL will bring back bad memories. If he gets a job, however, it will give them a chance to root for him to continue to send balls to the wrong side of the uprights. came to an end Avery Williamson Jersey , there were thoughts that his pass rushing ability could make him an early pick in this year’s draft.Polite wound up going to the Jets in the third round after a poor showing on and off the field at the Scouting Combine. He hurt his hamstring while turning in disappointing results in drills and then complained about teams “bashing” him during interviews, which left him saying he had a lot of people to prove wrong now that he’s in the NFL.On Friday, Jets coach Adam Gase said that Polite’s new team isn’t in that group. Gase said the rookie is getting a “fresh start.”“What happened in the past is irrelevant to me Womens Le'Veon Bell Jersey ,” Gase said at a press conference.Polite had 11 sacks at Florida last year and the Jets have a big need for pass rush off the edge of their defense, which is a combination that should offer the rookie plenty of opportunities to author a better story. Steelers receiver.Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw had a harsh assessment of Antonio Brown on Friday James White Jerseys 2019 , in an interview with Joe Rutter of the .“I had no idea they catered to Brown as much as they supposedly did,” Bradshaw said. “I can’t stand players like Antonio Brown.”Bradshaw isn’t impressed by the individual performances that Brown has generated during his time in the league.“Winning football games is all about the team and all about players caring about one another and everybody pulling together, not pulling apart,” Bradshaw told Rutter. “You can’t have Antonio Brown for all the greatness that they are, do you want the baggage that goes with that crap? I wouldn’t.”The Steelers did a pretty good job of keeping the crap under wraps during most of Brown’s time with the team, although there was plenty of evidence of it.“I’m glad they got rid of him and I’m upset now that I know how he got away [with what] he was doing there,” Bradshaw said. “I wish the heck they would have gotten rid of him a long time ago.”Bradshaw then asked what has become the question of the week: “What’s the over/under of him lasting in New England?”So far, Brown has made it five days. We’ll see if he makes it five games. FOXBOROUGH White Dont’a Hightower Jersey , Mass. (AP) — Antonio Brown’s winding summer odyssey has officially landed him as a member of the New England Patriots. But just how the sometimes disgruntled receiver will fit into the Super Bowl champions’ culture has become the Patriots’ biggest focal point in the aftermath of their 33-3 drubbing of the four-time All-Pro’s former team on Sunday night.Brown’s signing was announced by the Patriots late in the afternoon on Monday.According to Brown’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, the receiver signed a one-year deal, which will guarantee him $9 million this season and the potential to earn as much as $15 million. It’s far short of the money Brown lost following his short tenure with the Oakland Raiders , that ended with the team voiding more than $29 million guaranteed money and releasing him.But it opened the door for Patriots coach Bill Belichick to swoop in and take a chance on a talented player that could help take a receiving groups surrounded by questions in the preseason to one of the most formidable in the NFL.Brown was not present in the locker room during the period open to reporters on Monday. Of the players that did talk, few were willing to talk about their new teammate.“Friendly guy,” offensive lineman Joe Thuney said. “That’s all I know.”It’s the latest gamble by Belichick, who has previously brought in castoffs such as Randy Moss and Corey Dillon to mixed results. Moss gave New England three straight seasons of 1 Dont’a Hightower Jersey 2019 ,000 receiving yards and 47 receiving touchdowns from 2007 to 2009 in his Hall of Fame career. Dillion ran for 1,635 yards in the 2004 season to help New England win its third Super Bowl in a four-season span.Without Brown, the Patriots looked every bit like a team primed to make a run at another Lombardi Trophy in dismantling the Steelers. At age 42, Tom Brady continued to defy his age with a 341-yard, three-touchdown game, spreading the ball around to seven players. It ended preseason questions about who Brady would throw to following the retirement of tight end Rob Gronkowski and with only reigning Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman to lead a young group of receivers. With Brown, the 11-time defending AFC East champs have two of the most athletic receivers in the league. They recently got back Josh Gordon following his reinstatement for violations of the league’s substance abuse policy.Together, Brown and Gordon give Brady proven deep threats to go along with the sure-handed Edelman in the slot. That is White Donald Trump Jerseys , if Brown can avoid the pitfalls that caused him to fall out of favor with each of his two previous teams.“I think people understand when you come here you can’t really make mistakes or do things that can be distractions for the team,” Patriots running back Rex Burkhead said. “You gotta lock in, buy in and understand it’s a team atmosphere and there’s goals ahead.”WHAT’S WORKINGThe run defense. Linebackers Dont’a Hightower, Jamie Collins and John Simon limited the Steelers, leaving them one-dimensional for most of the game. For the game Pittsburgh managed just 2.5 yards per rush.WHAT NEEDS HELPThe Patriots went 0 for 3 in the red zone against Pittsburgh. It’s something the offense will need to improve upon as the season progresses. But it will be moot if Brady and the offense keep having games in which each of their touchdowns come from 20 or more yards.STOCK UPReceiver Phillip Dorsett has acknowledged that it took time for him to feel completely comfortable in the Patriots offense after he was traded from Indianapolis in 2017.He appears to have found his groove. Dorsett had four catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns — including a 58-yard TD reception against the Steelers. It was the first multi-score game of his career.STOCK DOWNTed Karras may need a few games to get used to his new role at starting center with David Andrews on injured reserve with blood clots in his lung. Belichick said Karras showed some inconsistencies getting the ball to Brady with enough velocity in shotgun formations.INJUREDRight tackle Marcus Cannon left the game late in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury. If he misses time, Thuney could slide over from left guard to right tackle.KEY NUMBER40-0. That is the Patriots’ record at home against AFC teams with Brady and Edelman in the starting lineup together.NEXT STEPSAssuming Brown gets up to speed on the playbook enough to be in the lineup for Sunday’s visit to Miami, it would mean somebody would have to sacrifice playing time. Possible candidates include rookie Jakobi Meyers and Dorsett.

New,67commentsEDTShareTweetShareShareScouting the quarterbacks: What kind of NFL prospect is Dwayne Haskins? Aaron Doster-USA TODAY SportsWe have reached Draft Week here in the football world, and at Big Blue View we are nearing the top of the quarterback board. Dwayne Haskins is a player previously discussed as a fit for the New York Giants, and if he is available for the Giants at the sixth spot, he would be perhaps an ideal fit for their offense and their future.BiographyOriginally from New Jersey, Haskins and his family moved to the Maryland suburbs so that Dwayne and his sister could attend the Bullis School, a prestigious private high school in the Washington D.C. area. With College Park just down the road, the University of Maryland was one of Haskins’ strongest suitors during his recruitment process. But Haskins was not without other schools seeking his services. Graded as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com, Haskins had 39 offers in hand when he first committed to Maryland over his hometown Rutgers University. However, things changed shortly after this initial decision. Haskins was recruited to College Park by Randy Edsall and assistant coach Mike Locksley, with the young quarterback’s relationship with the assistant coach playing a huge part in his decision. When the school fired Edsall and moved Locksley to interim head coach, Haskins reiterated his commitment to play for the Terrapins. However, the school moved in another direction, passing Locksley over for D.J. Durkin as their next head coach. Haskins started to entertain other schools, taking visits with some other potential suitors. Urban Meyer came calling as well, adn eventually Haskins decommitted from Maryland and signed with the Buckeyes.Haskins redshirted his first year on campus, and as a redshirt freshman he backed up J.T. Barrett, completing 40-of-57 passes for 565 yards and four touchdowns in limited action. He entered the 2018 campaign as the starting quarterback thanks to the transfer to LSU of Joe Burrow, and in his one year as a starter he reworked the Buckeyes’ record book. He claimed the single season passing and touchdown records for both Ohio State and the Big Ten, as he threw for 4,831 yards and 50 touchdowns, against just eight interceptions. Additionally, he claimed school records in total offense in a season, total offensive yards in a game and total passing yards in a game. Haskins ended his season on quite a high note. He threw six touchdown passes in Ohio State’s rivalry game against the University of Michigan, leading the Buckeyes to a 62-39 victory over the Wolverines. Then in the Big Ten Championship Game against Northwestern University George Asafo-Adjei Jersey Draft , Haskins threw five touchdowns (and one interception) in the win over the Wildcats. In his final game, a 28-23 win in the Rose Bowl, Haskins threw three touchdowns and no interceptions. Shortly after the bowl game, Haskins declared for the NFL draft. StrengthsHaskins at his core is more of a throwback to the quarterback position. A prototypical pocket passer type of player who wins more with his mind and mental approach than his athletic traits for the position. A question raised by that, however, is whether that kind of QB is still a highly sought after commodity given how the league is trending. Driving that point home is the inevitable contrast between Haskins and the quarterback widely expected to come off the board first, Kyler Murray. Haskins may be the type of QB that teams built around a decade ago, but Murray and quarterbacks like him might be the wave of the future. The contrast between them spills over into the evaluation process. Traditionally, the focus of quarterback study was on “process.” Does the player demonstrate the correct process on a wide majority of given plays? Does his thinking lead him to the correct decision with each throw? If those questions remain at the forefront of NFL thinking, then Haskins should be in good stead. Yet, Murray is the player considered to be the first overall selection? Why? Because we might be reaching a point where the results on a given play outweigh how the player arrived at that moment. (For more on this dichotomy here is a piece on Murray breaking down the question of process versus results). With Haskins, the process is king. The mental approach he puts together on a play-to-play basis is perhaps the strongest in this class. As we will see in a moment, however, the execution might sometimes be lacking. Again, process or results.Let’s start with Haskins as the prototypical pocket passer. He has an ability to hang in the pocket and make strong, anticipation throws as the pressure starts to build. This play is an example of this in action. Haskins will face a linebacker blitz on this play, andpressure off the edge builds late in the snap. But he seems unfazed by it, and throws a comeback route to the left (after opening to the middle of the field with his eyes) and throws that route on time, in rhythm with some anticipation to it:As you can see, this ball comes out well before the break, preventing the wide receiver from making a play on the football. The anticipation on this throw is something we can see from Haskins to any area of the field. Anticipation throws are a great indicator of a quarterback whose mental approach is solid. If he trusts his eyes and his read of the defense, he can throw receivers open and get the ball out on time and in rhythm, keeping the structure of the play intact. QBs who are more “see it, throw it” types of players often put their offense at a disadvantage, making life tougher for their receivers and intended targets alike. An easy example of this is when a quarterback identifies off coverage over a hitch route, and he can get the ball out of his hands before the break George Asafo-Adjei NFL Jersey , but that’s low hanging fruit. When a quarterback can identify the coverage and throw a receiver open in the middle of the field, that’s heady stuff. That is exactly what Haskins does on this play against Purdue:To drive the point home, here is a still of when Haskins is pulling the trigger:As you can see, he does not need to see the route come open behind the linebackers, he knows it will come open, and he leads his receiver to the space between the underneath defenders and in front of the safeties. If Haskins waits here, that defender to the outside of the route will be in position to make a play on either the ball or the receiver. This is anticipation at a higher level, something Haskins displays regularly as a passer. The mental approach Haskins takes is exemplified on some plays in the short and intermediate areas of the field. With some passers in this class, they are primarily quick and boundary throwers. Haskins is not, and his ability to attack underneath coverage will serve him well as he transitions to the NFL. Take, for example, this play against Indiana University: This play comes right out of a West Coast playbook. The slot receiver comes in motion and runs the shallow crossing route, and with a defender trailing the receiver during the motion, Haskins knows pre-snap that the Hoosiers are in man coverage. From the opposite side the tight end runs the sit route over the middle and starts to work back to the left, but by then Haskins has pulled the trigger on the crosser. Also important here for Haskins and his overall evaluation is that he gets blitzed but is able to step up in the pocket and deliver in the face of edge pressure. Also with Haskins, you can see the mental approach coming into focus despite just one year as a starter. It begins in the pre-snap phase, before the play begins. (As an aside, when you sit down to study quarterbacks in the weeks ahead if your analysis begins at the snap, you’re missing half the battle). Haskins is very involved in the pre-snap phase of the play, and it does not come from the sidelines all the time as it does with other college quarterbacks. You can see him calling out blitzes, identifying the MIKE defender, sliding the protection, moving players around as necessary, and it often pays off in the post-snap phase of the play.Haskins is also a more natural manipulator of defenders with his eyes, in comparison to Murray for example. Whether it is moving a deep safety on a vertical passing concept, or even influencing an underneath linebacker in the quick game George Asafo-Adjei NFL Draft , Haskins can manipulate defenders with his eyes, get them out of position, and exploit the defense in a flash. Take this throw against Purdue, where he freezes the safety in the middle of the field with his eyes before throwing the corner route to the left:This end zone angle gives a clearer indication of how he freezes the FS:Haskins flashes his eyes to the middle of the field, and then comes to throw the corner route. You can see how the safety flips his hips away from the corner route in response to Haskins. He also checks the “competitive toughness” box. Take, for example, this throw against Oregon State. Haskins threw an interception on the previous drive, and how does he respond? Mr. West Coast himself, Jon Gruden.Studying Haskins you can see some potential schematic diversity, but his strengths as a passer mesh best with a West Coast or Erhardt Perkins type of system. His ability to challenge defenses in the short and intermediate areas of the field as well as on timing routes, and to win with his mind make these offense the best fit for him.ProjectionDo not let his lack of experience fool you. Mentally, Haskins is close to ready as an NFL starter. The trick for his next team is to get him the ideal offensive system and to put some talent around him, where he can rely on those around him to help him as he acclimates to life in the NFL. If there is still a home for a prototypical pocket passer in this league - and I believe there is - Haskins is the ideal player cut from that cloth. He could start as a rookie and if he lands in the right spot, could be a mid-tier starter by the end of his second season. Elevator PitchA pro-ready quarterback chiseled from the mold of quarterbacks of yore. If teams still value the process over the results, Haskins might be at the top of their board at the quarterback position. If, however, the game is truly trending in a different direction, some of the other passers in this class might be valued higher than the Ohio State product. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — After five straight weeks of preparing and coming up empty, the New York Giants have something to smile about starting off a week. It’s amazing what a win can do for a team.“Anytime you win, it kind of verifies that what you’re doing is right,” coach Pat Shurmur said Tuesday, less than 24 hours after the Giants (2-7) rallied late to snap a five-game losing streak with a 27-23 win over the San Francisco 49ers.“The reason we all started playing and coaching football is because we love the competition, we love the physical nature of the game, and we love the process of getting ready to play the next opponent,” Shurmur added.“Then on game day George Asafo-Adjei Buffalo Bills Jersey , you put all your energy into winning, all your energy into putting a winning performance on the field, and so I sensed real joy in the locker room yesterday — a bunch of guys that put a lot into it, and we were able to overcome some adversity and win a football game.”The goal now for the Giants is to try to put a couple of wins together. They haven’t done that since December 2016. They have a 5-20 record in their past 25 games. The difference Monday night against the 49ers was the Giants made plays. Eli Manning threw three touchdowns and engineered a late drive capped by a short touchdown pass to Sterling Shepard. The offensive line, aided by the addition of newcomer Jamon Brown at right guard, allowed only one sack and the defense got two interceptions from linebacker B.J. Goodson.Special teams also contributed as Aldrick Rosas kicked two field goals and Corey Coleman had three kickoff returns for 92 yards. The performance by Manning was excellent. There have been many calling for the 37-year-old to be benched with the team losing again. The two-time Super Bowl MVP answered the critics.“Any time a player puts a winning performance on the field, he should feel good about it at least for a day or so,” Shurmur said. “The challenge is to then prepare to do it again in a week, so I don’t know. That’s a question for him, but he had a winning performance, he helped us win a game, and he should feel good about that. Now we just have to build on that going into Tampa.”The Giants will play host to the Buccaneers in their bid for their first win of the season at home (0-4).While the Giants’ chances of making the playoffs remain dim, Shurmur likes the team that has been assembled in his first season.“This is a really good locker room — we’re young, we’re new, but these guys believe in each other and try to play the game for each other,” he said. “I don’t know if they were loose, I don’t know if that’s the right term, but I thought they were just out there playing hard and having fun playing football.”NOTES: Shurmur said the Giants had the usual wear and tear in the game, but he expects no one to miss Sunday. … Brown played very well considering he had been with the team only a week. … Shurmur also said rookie linebacker Lorenzo Carter had his best game in both the pass rush and coverage. … Saquon Barkley had 20 carries for 67 yards and caught four passes for 33 yards. It was the eighth time in nine games Barkley had at least 100 scrimmage yards. “If we’re just going to talk about Saquon and his involvement in the game, whether we hand it to him or throw it to him, it really doesn’t matter. You’d like to see your back touch the ball or run the ball close to 20 times,” Shurmur said
ORCHARD PARK White Tremaine Edmunds Jerseys , N.Y. (AP) — Coach Sean McDermott knows the Buffalo Bills aren’t going to win too many more games if they keep allowing opponents to start drives at midfield — or beyond.“That wasn’t part of the game plan, for them to start at the 48,” McDermott said, sarcastically.Three turnovers by rookie quarterback Josh Allen, coupled with a series of special teams coverage breakdowns led to the Bills squandering a 14-3lead in a 27-23 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday.Though the Jets took their first and only lead on Elijah McGuire’s touchdown on fourth-and-goal from the 1 with 1:17 remaining, McDermott said the trouble began much earlier when the Bills kept providing New York opportunities.Allen’s first two turnovers on a lost fumble and an interception committed inside Bills territory, not only ended Buffalo scoring opportunities, but led to a Jets field goal. And then there were Buffalo’s special teams meltdowns, which led to Andre Roberts finishing with 176 yards on five kickoff returns.“There’s a recipe to winning in this league and it starts by taking care of the football, giving yourself a chance with good field position,” McDermott said. “We were shooting ourselves in the foot. That’s really the story of the game right there.”Buffalo dropped to 4-9 and will finish with a losing record for just the second time in five seasons, and a year after making the playoffs to end a 17-year postseason drought. Expectations were lower for the Bills this season, given the commitment they made to rebuilding through youth last offseason. The lack of experience has shown for a team starting five first- or second-year players on offense, and four more on defense. Each time the Bills appeared to gain momentum, they handed it back to the Jets. After Isaiah McKenzie scored on a 15-yard run to put Buffalo up 14-3, Roberts followed with a 51-yard kickoff return, which led to Jason Myers hitting a 21-yard field goal. After Buffalo’s Stephen Hauschka hit a 31-yard field goal to regain the 14-point edge, Roberts burst up the right sideline for an 86-yard return, which set up Trenton Cannon’s 4-yard touchdown. And after Hauschka hit a 36-yard field goal with 2:31 left to put Buffalo up 23-20, Roberts not only returned the next kickoff 22 yards to New York’s 34, but the Jets picked up another 5 yards due to an illegal formation penalty called against Buffalo.Rookie quarterback Sam Darnold then proceeded to march the Jets on a nine-play, 61-yard drive to win it Tremaine Edmunds Jerseys 2019 , including a perfectly placed 37-yard pass to Robby Anderson, who made an over-the-shoulder catch up the right sideline.Members of the Bills’ defense blamed themselves for allowing the Jets to score. And yet, Buffalo limited New York to 248 yards offense and 15 first downs. The difference was the Jets having eight drives start at their 35 or better, including five inside Buffalo territory.Allen blamed himself.“I’ve got to be smarter with the football,” said Allen, who now has nine interceptions and two lost fumbles, versus five touchdowns passing and five rushing.Allen’s first interception came when he was scrambling to his right and, rather than throwing the ball away, floated a pass back toward the field and was easily intercepted by Trumaine Johnson. Allen’s second interception came on Buffalo’s final drive, when he tried to force a pass to Zay Jones, only to have it picked off by Johnson.“Yeah, he’s got to learn from those,” McDermott said. “At times, he’s tried to do too much. That’s tough living there.” Shout it from the top of Mount Washington: It’s the Game of the Year!Perhaps the Game of the Decade!! Maybe the Game of the Millennium!!!Or, very possibly, a big dud.Until their flop in Miami on Monday night, the way the New England Patriots were performing was the way so many predicted they would heading into the season: a powerhouse. And how the Pittsburgh Steelers were squeezing past inferior foes brought into question whether they could slow down the Foxborough freight train. Then the Dolphins did so one day after the Steelers needed another late rally to edge archrival Baltimore and clinch the AFC North. So while Sunday’s contest at Heinz Field will almost certainly decide the top seed in the AFC, it’s not exactly Ali-Frazier, two undefeated heavyweights facing off.“It’s good to be in big games than be in ones nobody’s watching,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin says. “We better be appreciative of this spot and not resist it in any way. This is what we’ve been fighting for since March. Why would you fight that? It’s an awesome thing.”Forget their `A’ game, which the Steelers (11-2) seem to have misplaced for much of the past two months despite winning eight straight, with a half-dozen of them close (decided by one Color Rush Thomas Sweeney Jersey , three, three, three, five and six points. They will need their `AAA game’ against New England (10-3), which knows a loss eliminates it from topping the conference heading into the postseason.“It’s all about us being prepared to play Pittsburgh,” Patriots safety Devin McCourty says, mimicking his coach. “All the extra stuff comes with it, but it’s just if we worry about the playoffs, we’ll go down there and we’ll get killed, honestly.”The action got started Thursday night in a game with no playoff implications, the Denver Broncos’ 25-13 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Brock Osweiler threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in relief of the injured Trevor Siemian, and C.J. Anderson rushed for 158 yards on 30 carries as Denver (5-9) won its second straight and handed the Colts (3-11) their fifth consecutive loss. Siemian injured his left shoulder in the first quarter and did not return.Los Angeles Chargers (7-6) at Kansas City (7-6), Saturday nightWin this and you have the inside track to the AFC West title. That would have seemed very impressive in the summer, when this was thought to be the NFL’s best sector. Instead, it’s so mediocre that the winner probably will be a No. 4 seed in the playoffs.Kansas City had a 24-20 win in September, when it was starting off 5-0. It broke a four-game slide with a big victory over Oakland last week. The Bolts have been, well, charging, winning four straight and seven of nine, their best nine-game stretch since 2010. But they’ve dropped seven in a row to the Chiefs.Dallas (7-6) at Oakland (6-7)Oakland might need to win out for any shot at the postseason. Same for Dallas, chasing a wild card in the much-stronger NFC.With star RB Zeke Elliott suspended for one more game, the combination of Dak Prescott throwing to Jason Witten and Dez Bryant has been the focal point on offense. Prescott’s coming off his first 300-yard passing game of the season with a career-high 332 against the woeful Giants. After fizzling in KC Youth Thomas Sweeney Jersey , Oakland needs to rediscover its offense and get pressure on Prescott from Bruce Irvin and Khalil Mack.Los Angeles Rams (9-4) at Seattle (8-5)The Rams lost two of four in the midst of a very difficult stretch. Now, the key division matchup with the banged-up, penalty-prone Seahawks.Seattle, whose air of invincibility at home has been punctured with two losses in the past three, won the first meeting and would have the tiebreaker with a repeat. This easily could come down to Russell Wilson , making a late run for league MVP, lighting up the skies against Rams QB Jared Goff, one of the NFL’s most-improved players in 2017.LA is 3-0 after a loss; the Eagles beat the Rams last Sunday.Green Bay (7-6) at Carolina (9-4)Huge one for both sides, and this time the Packers head into it with Aaron Rodgers back at quarterback.Recovered from his broken collarbone — Green Bay stayed relevant without him, going 3-4 — Rodgers might have some rust. Still, was there ever any doubt he would replace Brett Hundley when his wing was healed?“Hopefully it gives a lift to some of the guys but I’m not coming back to save this team,” Rodgers said. “I’m coming back to play quarterback the way I know how to play it.”Rodgers will face a formidable defense that includes end Julius Peppers, who left Green Bay for a return to Carolina this season and has 5 sacks in the past four games against his former team, and LB Luke Kuechly (100 tackles in six straight seasons.)New York Jets (5-8) at New Orleans (9-4)New Orleans owns the tiebreaker over Carolina thanks to a season sweep, and gets fortunate here. Josh McCown, having the best season of his lengthy, vagabond pro career, has a broken hand, so untested Bryce Petty gets the start. The Saints lost two of their past three, against top-level opponents, so they aren’t likely to fall into any traps. Their well-balanced and top-ranked offense could go wild against the inconsistent Jets, and no team has improved more on D than Nawlins.Atlanta (8-5) at Tampa Bay (4-9) Womens Thomas Sweeney Jersey , Monday nightWhile the Buccaneers spiral enough to put coach Dirk Koetter’s job security in question, it’s the defending NFC champ Falcons who have been maddeningly up and down. Get this: Atlanta is 4-3 in its new, billion dollar palace. That means the Monday night spotlight should be fine, especially for WR Julio Jones. He had a season-best 12 receptions for 253 yards and two TDs against the Bucs three weeks ago — his NFL-record third game with 250-plus yards receiving. No other receiver in league history has more than one.Cincinnati (5-8) at Minnesota (10-3)Vikings will secure NFC North crown for second time in three seasons by winning, and the Bengals have never won in five trips to Minnesota. Cincinnati didn’t even show up at home last Sunday in being routed by the Bears. Yes, the Bears.Minnesota’s defense had an off day at Carolina, but is formidable enough to win big. The combined record of teams the Vikings have lost to is 27-12. Combined record of teams the Bengals have beaten, counting the Browns twice, is 14-51.Vikings coach Mike Zimmer was the defensive coordinator for the Bengals under current coach Marvin Lewis from 2008-2013. And here’s a strange stat: Lewis has never lost to any former assistant, going 6-0-1.Philadelphia (11-2) at New York Giants (2-11)An Eagles victory and a Vikings loss makes Philly the place to go through in the NFC playoffs. Of course, Eagles fans mostly are looking at the bleak side: Carson Wentz, the superb young quarterback who has engineered much of this year’s turnaround, tore his left ACL at the Rams and is done for the season. Then again, Philly probably could suit up Ron Jaworski instead of Nick Foles and win this by letting its top-notch defense loose against the beleaguered Giants. The Eagles have won six of seven and 15 of the past 19 against the Giants.Houston (4-9) at Jacksonville (9-4)OK, take a deep breath and listen: Jacksonville clinches a playoff berth with a win. It can even get in with help in other cities despite a loss. Not only that, the Jaguars, with their terrific pass rush and strong ground game, have a shot at a first-round playoff bye.“To be at the bottom and to finally fight our way, work our way and get back up, just to be in the position that we’re at now, it’s great and it shows you that we’ve finally started to earn the right to win,” linebacker Paul Posluszny says. “Now we want more.”Houston might have been in position for more in 2017 had the injury bug not ravaged the roster. The Texans Authentic Thomas Sweeney Jersey , already minus brilliant DE J.J. Watt and excellent LB Whitney Mercilus, are down to their third quarterback, T.J. Yates.Tennessee (8-5) at San Francisco (3-10)The Titans can’t afford a stumble against the suddenly competitive Niners.San Francisco lost its first nine, but now has won three of four. Jimmy Garoppolo is playing like he will fill that franchise QB role the Niners hoped he would when they dealt with New England to get him.Tennessee has a showdown in Music City in Week 17 with the Jaguars. The Titans can make that a winner-take-the-division matchup if they beat San Francisco and then the Rams in Nashville next week.Miami (6-7) at Buffalo (7-6)After stunning New England, the Dolphins go to a place they don’t much like, particularly in December. RB Kenyan Drake has emerged and receiver Jarvis Landry remains steady. The defense befuddled Brady last Monday night, and expected starter Tyrod Taylor is no Brady.Bills star LeSean McCoy probably has been doing a snow dance all week. He was dominant in last weekend’s 13-7 overtime win a blizzard against Indianapolis, the second time in his career the running back has dashed through the snow like that.Baltimore (7-6) at Cleveland (0-13)A sputtering offense came to life for the Ravens at Pittsburgh, where they should have won to make them a solid leader for a wild card. Even if that attack goes back to its previous ways, seeing Baltimore destroy much of its postseason chances in this one is unlikely. A 3-0 finish gets the Ravens in.A 3-0 finish would be miraculous for the Browns, the first team in NFL history to start 0-13 in consecutive seasons.Chicago (4-9) at Detroit (7-6), SaturdayAlthough the Lions are mathematically in the NFC playoff chase, they sure don’t look much like a threat. Except, perhaps, to the Bears: Detroit has won eight of nine vs. Chicago.Bears running back Jordan Howard is the first in franchise history to rush for 1,000-plus yards in each of his first two seasons.Arizona (6-7) at Washington (5-8)Of interest here — wait, we’ll find something — is Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson, who needs one rushing TD to reach 100 and 37 yards to pass the great Jim Brown (12,312) on the career rushing list. But Peterson is battling a neck problem that could sideline him for the final three games.

But that doesn’t mean that Kitchens just fell off the feed truck from Alabama yesterday.Kitchens began his coaching career in 1999 as an offensive assistant at Glenville State University. He arrived in Arizona the following season as a tight ends coach with the Cardinals, and stayed in the desert until coming to Cleveland in 2018.After working for almost two decades as a coach, Kitchens has seen just everything imaginable, although he likely has never seen anything like the 2019 Cleveland Browns. Cleveland is also a team with expectations that are higher than they have been since the 1986 season and the focus will only increase as the summer months dissolve into the season opener in September. Kitchens took the opportunity during his media session on Saturday to remind the players about the need to remain focused on the task at hand, according to clevelandbrowns.com:Cleveland and the NFL may not have seen a team quite like the 2019 Browns in quite some time. We got the win, so that’s all that matters.”Greg Zuerlein hit a 34-yard field goal with 2:05 left before Wilson forced and recovered Montgomery’s fumble on the ensuing kickoff, and Gurley’s prudent decision to go down wrapped up the Rams’ 29-27 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.Jared Goff passed for 295 yards and three touchdowns while the Rams (8-0) were sternly tested by the Packers (3-3-1).Both teams rallied from 10-point deficits to take a lead in front of a rollicking Green Bay Packers Customized Jerseys , bipartisan Coliseum crowd, but the Rams extended their best start since 1969 by capitalizing on two crushing special-teams mistakes by Green Bay.Rodgers threw for 286 yards, but he didn’t get a snap in the final 5:20.“That was a high-caliber, back-and-forth game,” Rams coach Sean McVay said. “This team has demonstrated through eight games that while we have a long way to go, this team is capable of winning games in a bunch of different ways.”Marquez Valdes-Scantling caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Rodgers with 8:50 left to put the Packers ahead 27-26, but Goff and Gurley drove the Rams into range for Zuerlein’s second field goal of the fourth quarter after a 25-yard punt by JK Scott.Montgomery then coughed up his return, and Wilson pounced on the ball.“That play didn’t lose the game Green Bay Packers T-Shirts , but it took away an opportunity to win,” Rodgers said.Montgomery declined to talk after the game, but Wilson called his fumble-forcing hit “one of the biggest collisions I’ve been in.”Packers coach Mike McCarthy said the return man was supposed to take a touchback.“You trust your players on tough decisions, close decisions,” McCarthy said. “I think Ty was just trying to make a play.”In the final minute, Gurley ran 17 yards for a key first down and stopped before reaching the end zone, allowing the Rams to run out the clock.Josh Reynolds caught two touchdown passes for Los Angeles. As we wrap up the 2018 season Indianapolis Colts Hoodie , it is time to take a look at the season as a whole and declare some winners and losers. There are quite a few of them, so we will start on the offensive side of the ball and tackle the defensive side tomorrow. WinnersAndrew LuckPhoto by David Eulitt/Getty ImagesThere are a lot of players who could be considered winners this season, but above them all is Andrew Luck. Luck had a phenomenal season, despite ending it on a rather awful note. He meshed really well in Frank Reich’s offense and made the most of the weapons he was given. There was never going to be a way to fix all the Colts’ problems in one offseason, and the weakness at receiver was pretty apparent throughout this season, but even still, Luck finished the year with one of his best seasons as a pro.Simply coming back from injury would have been encouraging enough for Luck, but doing so with such a strong showing and re-establishing himself as a top tier quarterback in the NFL was a major win for Luck and a beacon of hope for this team moving forward. Add to that the fact that he will get the opportunity to play in the same offense again next year, and 2018 was a big win for Luck.T.Y. HiltonPhoto by Frederick Breedon/Getty ImagesDespite missing 2 games and playing hurt for the last several games of the season, T.Y. Hilton still delivered his 3rd most productive season. The only year where he had a higher yards per reception average was his rookie season where he played deep threat alongside Reggie Wayne in Bruce Arians’ big play offense.More than the numbers, T.Y. Hilton represented a toughness and unbending resolve that this young team needed to see. He stepped up for the team when they needed him the most, and his effort through serious pain was simply incredible. Showing up to the Texans game in the Wild Card in a clown mask was iconic, spawning copycats throughout the rest of the playoffs. This was a great year for Hilton and if the Colts can get some additional weapons to complement him in the offseason there is no reason he can’t keep doing it.Marlon MackPhoto by Michael Hickey/Getty ImagesThis was a breakout year for Marlon Mack. Down the stretch he showed himself to be a capable back who can carry the load for this team and maintains a big play ability that is unmatched in the Colts’ backfield. He missed 4 games this season, starting in just 10 total, but still managed to amass 908 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 4.7 yards per carry on the season. With a full season, Mack almost certainly breaks 1000 yards rushing and does so as a part of a committee. The arrow is pointing up for Mack in a big way as we will get another year of this offensive line together to get better still. 2019 could be an even bigger year for Mack.Eric EbronPhoto by Tim Warner/Getty ImagesPerhaps no one but Andrew Luck won bigger this season than Eric Ebron. Once considered a bust, Ebron found his form with the Colts, proving himself to be a guy the fans and players loved alike. His 13 receiving touchdowns were incredible, and he was the Colts’ unquestioned most dangerous red zone threat. The shadow of the old Ebron, one who dropped passes in big moments was still around. However, his contribution to the team allowed him to step out of that shadow and still be a major value. With Jack Doyle back to health and the relegation of Ebron to a situational threat http://www.coltsfanshop.com/Bobby-Okereke-Jersey , he is likely to thrive going forward.Dontrelle InmanPhoto by Tim Warner/Getty Images One of Chris Ballard’s best midseason acquisitions, Dontrelle Inman came in with previous experience working with Frank Reich. He seamlessly integrated into a wide receiver room that needed veteran presence and solid production. Fortunately, he brought both and became a big factor for the Colts down the stretch, becoming a reliable 3rd down option and making some big plays down the stretch for a team that needed someone to step up opposite T.Y. Hilton. Whether Inman is re-signed or not, he certainly made himself some money this season.Quenton NelsonPhoto by Rob Carr/Getty ImagesWhat more can be said about Nelson that hasn’t been already? You know you’re having a great rookie year when you are named to the Pro Bowl and as an AP First-Team All-Pro. We’ll never really be able to quantify Nelson’s exact impact on this line, but he has been a big part of its development and growth and will only improve. Usually you expect big steps forward for linemen as they get familiar with the NFL, and if that is the case for Nelson, this line will be terrifying to play against.Braden SmithPhoto by Otto Greule Jr/Getty ImagesIt is a testament to how good this draft class is that more isn’t said about Braden Smith. The guy is drafted in the second round as a guard, has to step up and fill in the right tackle spot after injuries, and by the end of the season is handling guys like J.J. Watt. In any normal year this would be a guy we couldn’t stop talking about. Instead he gets lost in the shuffle, which is how many offensive linemen prefer it. Still, the same is true for Smith as Nelson. If he sees a major jump in his second season, it will mean big things for this offensive line.Ryan KellyPhoto by Frederick Breedon/Getty ImagesThis was the season where we saw Kelly take his biggest step forward. If not for injuries, he had an All-Pro type of season as the Colts center. It is clear that the addition of solid guards on either side of him had an impact on his play. The best football for Ryan Kelly seems to be ahead of him, and that bodes well for the Colts’ offense.Anthony CastonzoPhoto by Sean M. Haffey/Getty ImagesIt was telling that Castonzo’s return marked a massive difference in the offense’s ability to effectively execute their game plans. After missing him for the first 5 weeks, the line looked like a whole different group with him on the field. If you want to point to his value, little more than the results after his return need to be pointed to. The Colts will need to be thinking about his eventual replacement, but his play this season showed why that is not an imminent need just yet.Frank ReichPhoto by Andy Lyons/Getty ImagesReich proved himself a worthy head coach and his staff did a great job preparing this team each week. He turned an offense around and made them highly efficient, scheming his players open and moving the ball well despite below average wide receivers and the loss of his top tight end. There is certainly room for Reich to improve, but as a first year head coach who took his team from 4 wins to the playoffs, this was a major win for Reich.Honorable Mentions: Mark Glowinski, Nyheim HinesLosersRyan GrantPhoto by Andy Lyons/Getty ImagesThe Colts were in desperate need of help at the wide receiver position this season, which gave a huge opening to anyone looking to make a name for themself. Chris Ballard brought Grant in on a 1-year $5M deal to be the number 2 wide receiver to T.Y. Hilton. Grant simply did not live up to the billing. While his production through the first five games of the season wasn’t awful Parris Campbell Jersey , it was also unspectacular. After week five, he never recorded more than 2 receptions in a game. This was a majorly disappointing season from him, especially since he had been slated to sign with the Ravens on a 4-year, $29M deal before it fell through because of a failed physical/buyer’s remorse.Chester RogersPhoto by Jamie Squire/Getty ImagesWhile he certainly improved his play down the stretch, Rogers did very little to solidify his chances as a future starter in the wide receiver room for the Colts. Like Grant, Rogers was faced with an opportunity to establish himself without great competition surrounding him. Instead, he was never really able to break away from the pack. It is true that down the stretch he began to carve out a niche for himself as a guy who could move the ball on bubble screens and make some things happen after the catch. However, based on this season, hoping for anything more than a role as a special teamer and receiver depth is unlikely for “Chester from Grambling.”Jack DoylePhoto by Andy Lyons/Getty ImagesFew players on the Colts have been viewed as being quite as dependable as Jack Doyle. He was Andrew Luck’s favorite target on third downs and had a great season in 2017 as well. Unfortunately for Doyle, he got hit with the injury bug in 2018 and was unable to contribute in any significant way. Perhaps Doyle’s most notable play came against the Cincinnati Bengals as the Colts were driving to win the game. He coughed up a truly awful fumble that ended the Colts’ hopes for a win. With a contract year coming up Doyle now has a lot of pressure on him to have a solid year, because this is probably his last chance to etch a big contract. He certainly has what it takes, but it would have been much better to get to enter a contract year after adding another solid season to his resume than one spent in the training room.Erik SwoopeDespite being viewed as a basketball player who could turn tight end for the Colts, Swoope just hasn’t seemed able to make that transition into a long-term option for the team. He isn’t out of the running entirely having landed on the Colts’ practice squad, but he lost out on his spot to Mo-Alie Cox, a guy with a similar skill set and background to his. Given the loss of Doyle, you would have hoped to have Swoope take advantage and earn himself a spot.Phillip WalkerSeriously. How many times was this poor guy sent packing just to be re-signed? Russell Okung may be right.Okung believes the league wants to keep the Chargers from hosting the AFC championship because the league doesn’t want the game to be played in the team’s undersized soccer stadium. In response to a report from Jason La Canfora of CBS that conversations have occurred regarding the possibility of moving the game, a Chargers source tells PFT that there is “no way” the game would be moved from Dignity Healthy Sports Park, previously known as StubHub Center. The Chargers and AEG have a firm and binding contract requiring the game to be played at the facility. AEG would have to relinquish its contractual rights, and per the Chargers source that simply isn’t going to happen. This is consistent with the information PFT obtained when first exploring this issue, at a time when the Chargers had a very good chance at securing the No. 1 seed. The issue currently remains moot unless the sixth-seeded Colts win on Saturday and the fifth-seeded Chargers win on Sunday. If/when those outcomes occur, full details will be provided as to how the Chargers and the league plan to stage one of the biggest games of the year at the smallest stadium in the league, by far.
— are off this week. But besides the Patriots Bobby Wagner Color Rush Jersey , no other team has essential fantasy starters to replace.San Francisco’s break forces you to fill in for running back Matt Breida and tight end George Kittle. Cleveland’s only regular fantasy starters are Nick Chubb and Jarvis Landry. Still, you must deftly navigate the waiver wire for potential playoff contributors, especially with trade deadlines about to pass in most leagues.RUNNING BACKSJAYLEN SAMUELS, Steelers (Owned in 0.2 percent of leagues): Le’Veon Bell is no longer relevant in Pittsburgh, so now is the time to grab James Conner’s handcuff. When Conner left last week’s game against the Panthers, Samuels scored his first NFL touchdown. This is the time of year to start cutting players from your bench that you will never comfortably start and roster the immediate backups of your best RBs.THEO RIDDICK, Lions (19.5): He has started to re-emerge since the Lions traded Golden Tate, working in the slot and replacing the departed WR as a key target to move the chains. Riddick is purely an add in point-per-reception leagues, but a viable one. The upside is not high, but with 13 catches for 96 yards in his last two games, there is an adequate floor for your flex spot.RASHAAD PENNY, Seahawks (13.1): The rookie delivered his best performance to date in Week 10, rushing for 108 yards on a dozen carries and registering his first NFL scoring run. Penny displayed the explosive abilities that made him a first round pick. But you have to be patient with him, as Chris Carson may return to the mix and Mike Davis is the team’s best receiver at RB. Penny may ride your bench in the near future as part of a committee, but Carson is oft-injured and Penny may eventually ascend because he is the most talented RB of the three.WIDE RECEIVERSANTHONY MILLER, Bears (13.4): Another potentially explosive rookie Justin Coleman Color Rush Jersey , Miller is healthy and starting to make his presence felt in the rapidly improving Chicago offense. He came through with his best performance so far in Week 10, catching five passes for 122 yards and a TD. Miller has scored twice in his last three games and three in his last five. He has yet to display a wider range of his big-play skills, and he may soon approach fantasy WR3 status.DONTE MONCRIEF, Jaguars (15.1); Fantasy owners seem to avoid Jacksonville WRs as a rule, but Moncrief has at least performed respectably enough to make him a quality bye week and injury fill-in. In a dire situation, if you have to start Moncrief, he will provide good enough PPR numbers. He has four double-figure PPR performances in his past six games, and two of those have been 20-point outings.JOSH REYNOLDS, Rams (1.1): Cooper Kupp is done for the year with a knee injury, so you have to take a cautious flier on Reynolds again, who was mediocre in terms of catches and yardage last time Kupp was out but did deliver a two-TD game in Week 8. Reynolds will be fourth, and maybe even fifth in targets for the Rams now, but you have to take a waiver shot on a player with more possible opportunity in a great offense.TIGHT ENDSJONNU SMITH, Titans (0.6): Marcus Mariota has started to raise his game recently, and Smith has been involved enough to make savvy fantasy owners raise an eyebrow. Smith has scored in each of his past two games and has the abilities to start contributing more often on key passing downs.GERALD EVERETT, Rams (1.4): The Los Angeles tight ends could also benefit from the absence of Kupp. Everett scored in Week 10 and along with Tyler Higbee Russell Wilson Color Rush Jersey , could start to get more offensive attention from Jared Goff in the weeks ahead.NICK VANNETT, Seahawks (9.5): He has scored in two consecutive games, as he is getting more attention from Russell Wilson in red zone situations. He’s not much more than a TE2 in fantasy but can certainly fill in on a bye week.QUARTERBACKLAMAR JACKSON, Ravens (6.7): Injury issues and mediocre play appear to be putting Joe Flacco on the hot seat. While Robert Griffin III could get a chance to move in first, Jackson should get his chance if the Ravens get booted out of the playoff race soon, and his dual threat abilities will make him an intriguing fantasy option. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has seen San Francisco 49ers quarterback Nick Mullens play against his team twice in the last three weeks.Mullens led the 49ers to a 26-23 overtime win over Seattle on Sunday, snapping a streak of 10 straight victories by Seattle that began with the NFC Championship game victory in January 2013. That performance following a 400-yard passing day against the Seahawks just two weeks before. The two performances have left Carroll impressed by the man who began the year as the 49ers’ third-string quarterback“He’s good. He’s a good player,” Carroll said on Monday. “Twice in the last three or four weeks with the guy… he’s a really good football player. We hit him, we chased him, he’s accurate, he’s poised, his arm’s plenty good enough, accuracy was there and I thought he’s just good. They’re fortunate to have a guy come out of the depth chart there to come out and play like that. He’s a good ball player.”Mullens completed 20 of 29 passes for 275 yards and a touchdown for the 49ers. This comes two weeks after Mullen completed 30 of 48 passes for 414 yards and two touchdowns with an interception in his first meeting with the Seahawks. It was just the 12th team Seattle allowed an opposing quarterback to throw for 400 yards in franchise history.Mullens is helped the 49ers win three games in the last six weeks, including two straight against Denver and Seattle. He’s played well routinely during his six starts and has shown the 49ers they at least have a competent backup for the future behind Jimmy Garoppolo.

The Packers never intended CSTShareTweetShareSharePackers 2018 additions: Byron Bell falls into starting roleJake Roth-USA TODAY SportsOver the next two weeks, Acme Packing Company will break down each position group on the Green Bay Packers and provide insight into how they performed during the 2018 season. Today, we examine the offensive line.Last offseason, the Green Bay Packers rolled the dice on their interior offensive line. Already set at both tackle spots and center, the front office only brought in late-round pick Cole Madison and “street” free agent Byron Bell to compete with Justin McCray for the starting job at right guard. While none of those players seemed like top-flight starters Paul Hornung Jersey , the team only needed one to surprise in order to hold down the position. The plan didn’t’ quite pan out. Madison never reported to training camp (and thus did not merit inclusion on this list) while McCray suffered a shoulder injury early in the season and ended up spending many weeks on the inactive list. That left Bell to start the majority of the Packers’ games at right guard.Byron BellHow acquired: Signed as “street” free agentStats: 12 game appearances, nine starts, 33 total pressures allowedBell, a longtime starting lineman with the Carolina Panthers, Tennessee Titans, and Dallas Cowboys, found himself without a team late into the offseason. The Packers scooped him up on a one-year deal on May 30. Bell didn’t offer much on paper, but the team felt that his experience could prove valuable should injuries press the veteran into duty for a few games.A few games turned into 12 Bart Starr Jersey , nine of them starts. To his credit, Bell acquitted himself better than McCray, who struggled early and often before a shoulder injury effectively ended his time as the Packers’ preferred starter at right guard. But Bell still allowed 33 total pressures during his 365 snaps, giving him the highest pressure rate of any offensive lineman in Green Bay (9 percent). The offense had plenty of problems in 2018, but the revolving door at right guard proved to be one of the worst.
conundrum Stefon Diggs Jersey , wrapped around a riddle, packaged in to a mystery. On paper, they have as much talent as anyone in the league. They’re strong on both sides of the ball, and when you look at their week to week matchups, more often than not they seem to be the better team.Yet, when they take the field, there seems to be an air of apathy, or lethargy, or something about them that makes me scratch my head, damn near every week. On Sunday in Foxboro, against the defending AFC Champion New England Patriots, it was more of the same. On a day when the Chicago Bears were upset by the Giants and the Packers literally fired their coach, Minnesota had a golden opportunity to get within half a game of the division lead and solidify their wildcard positioning. Yet after they pulled even at 10-10 early in the third quarter, the Vikes pretty much sleep walked through the rest of the game and lost 24-10. The offense insisted on a slow, plodding gameplan that didn’t get anywhere, the defense broke down when they couldn’t afford to, and at 6-5-1, this is a team that’s getting harder and harder to care about, because it seems like they don’t care anymore.Do they Mr. Collins?Well you can tell everyone I’m a down disgrace Drag my name all over the place I don’t care anymoreYou can tell everybody ‘bout the state I’m in You won’t catch me crying ‘cause I just can’t winI don’t care anymore, I don’t care anymoreThe SMR that’s fighting for a one and done in the wildcard round follows.Blue Chips:Anthony Harris, S. Since Andrew Sendejo went out several games back and Harris took over, Harris has played better than Sendejo, and I don’t see him relinquishing the job anytime soon. Today he had a huge pass break up on the goal line that forced New England to kick a field goal. Later, he had a huge stop on a short Rob Gronkowski catch that was initially ruled a first down, but on review Harris stood Gronk up and held him short. Dalvin Cook, RB: This is the Cook we’ve expected to see for most of the season, and the Vikings made some money with him on the edge running that ball. The Patriots showed zero ability to stop Cook running wide Harrison Smith Jersey , so naturally, the Vikings quit running to the edge in the second half, especially when they got down to the red zone. It’s not Cook’s fault he only carried the ball nine times in a road game, outside, in bad weather. But more on that later. Solid Investments:Kyle Rudolph, TE: Rudolph had some big catches today, including a catch which was ruled a catch but no one could really be sure, because hey, what’s a catch in today’s NFL, amirite?Stefon Diggs, WR: Diggs was a gametime decision due to swelling in his knee overnight, but played. He ended up being the Vikings leading receiver today with 49 yards, and he had two big catches during the Vikings lone TD drive right before the end of the first half.Junk Bonds:Laquon Treadwell, WR: I’m good with pulling the plug on Treadwell as WR3 and putting in Aldrick Robinson if you are.Tom Compton, G: His nickname should be velcro becuase he holds on to everything.Dan Bailey, K: The second most accurate kicker in NFL history now has more shanks than a prison shakedown. If you want to tell me the Vikings should move on from Special Teams Coach Mike Priefer at the end of the season, because he’s the only common denominator in all these kicking issues, you have my attention.Kirk Cousins, QB: Cousins is not being paid 28 large a year to play like he did for about 50 of 60 game minutes today. There is no excuse that an offense with this much firepower struggles so badly. You can talk about the poor offensive line play, but this line is no worse than last year’s, and the offense didn’t struggle like this. Cousins just isn’t making a play when it needs to be made right now, flat out. When he does, this offense is a lot of fun to watch. When he doesn’t, this offense is like watching someone slowly drown.Buy/Sell:Buy: Running the ball with Dalvin Cook early. For the first time since the Lions game, which feels like it was about two seasons ago, Dalvin Cook and the running game got going early in the game. Cook had 32 and 18 yards on consecutive runs in the first half, and the Vikings really looked good running to the perimeter.Sell: Mostly ignoring Dalvin Cook on the ground. So Dru Samia Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , that 32 and 18 yard run? the 32 yard run came with 7:41 left in the first quarter, and the 18 yard run, the next time he carried it as a running back, came with 5:39 left...in the second quarter. In the meantime, Minnesota kept dumping off the Cook in the flat for a couple yards here and there (Cook ended up with 8 catches for 23 yards), and one would think after about the 37th dump off pass for three yards, one would try something else. One would be wrong, though. Buy: The two minute drive to end the first half. Cousins was crisp, throwing dimes down field to Diggs, Rudolph, Robinson, and managed the clock perfectly. He hit Adam Thielen on a perfect out route in the end zone, and there was only :15 seconds left when the Vikings scored; too little time for Tom Brady. Hands down the best two minute drive the Vikings have orchestrated this year.Sell: The 28 minutes that opened the first half. Other than Cook running the ball, though, the Vikings offense looked flat out putrid for the rest of the first half. The offensive line had trouble protecting Cousins, which led to either designed short passes or checkdowns that went for minimal gains. The result was an offense that went punt, missed fg, punt, punt in their first four possessions before their lone TD drive.Buy: The Mike Zimmer challenge on the Gronkowski catch felt like a momentum shift. With 2:34 left in the first half, the Pats had a second and five from their own 22. Tom Brady completed a pass to Rob Gronkowski, which was ruled a first down. However, the spot was wrong, and Mike Zimmer challenged. He won, and instead of first and ten, it was third and one. On third down, the Vikings stuffed the Pats, they punted Minnesota Vikings Jerseys 2019 , and it felt like a seminal moment in the game.Sell: The Vikings seized the moment. Yes, the Vikings took the ball on their ensuing drive and scored a touchdown, and went into halftime down only 10-7. Last year, a moment like that felt like it would be a lunching pad to take over the game and win it. But the offense reverted to what they did much of the first half, and didn’t find the end zone again. The defense had trouble getting off the field on third down, and couldn’t get a stop when they needed it. It’s become a broken record at this point, but the complementary football that the Vikings talk about, and were so good at last year, isn’t there this year. Buy: The Vikings offense should be a top ten unit. They have a talented young running back, a good quarterback, a reliable tight end, and the best WR tandem in the NFL. I’m not saying this offense should be Oklahoma, but they’re built to score pointsSell: The Vikings offensive play calling. Honest to goodness, I have no idea what offensive coordinator John DeFilippo is thinking anymore. It feels like he tries to figure out what works, and then intentionally decides not do that thing. Look, when you have a running back that’s averaging 9.3 yards a carry, (and had two more good runs nullified because of penalties), why would you want to keep running the ball with him in bad weather? Silly cake eaters, what do we know? And once the Vikings do fall behind, there seems to be zero sense of urgency as time winds down. There is no quick huddle, the plays called are short dump offs that don’t stretch the field or get chunks of yards, and the clock bleeds time. By the time the Vikings do open it up, it’s much too little, too late. Nothing says ‘I don’t care anymore’ like a three yard slant on 4th and 11 down 14 with less than seven minutes to go.It’s incredibly frustrating to watch, and the reputation Flip brought with him seems to be based on a resume every bit as flimsy as George O’Leary’s was when he was the Notre Dame coach for about 20 minutes back in the day. Late in the game, after about the 27th three yard pass that felt like it ate up 40 minutes of game clock and produced no first downs, Fox commentator Troy Aikman mentioned that Flip would be a head coaching candidate for a lot of teams in the off-season. I thought to myself ‘good Infant Dru Samia Jersey , he won’t be on the Vikings anymore’, which was a completely different feeling than when Pat Shurmur left for the Giants last year.Buy: Brian O’Neill has helped to fix the offensive line: When O’Neill was drafted, the general consensus was that he was going to have to sit for a year and bulk up, because he lacked upper body strength to be able to be effective in his rookie year. O’Neill has proven that narrative to be demonstrably false, and looks to be a fixture on the offensive line for a long time.Sell: Brian O’Neill fixed the offensive line. All that said, the Vikings offense is struggling, in large part, to another poorly constructed offensive line. For all the good Spielman has done in constructing a roster in all other areas, the offensive line has been an ongoing issue for almost every season since he’s been named full time GM in 2012. The interior of the line is very subpar, the backups inspire little to no confidence, and if it’s not a priority for GM Rick Spielman in the off-season it could all quickly unravel for the Vikings. Sorry, but no quote of the week this week. I didn’t really see any of the grandkids much, as I was in Indianapolis watching one of my other football teams not fill me with doom and gloom, and win a championship. It was refreshing. SEATTLE (AP) — The Seahawks will be without wide receiver Doug Baldwin for Monday night’s game against Minnesota because of a hip injury that kept him out of practice all week.Baldwin was listed as questionable on the final injury report, but did not participate in any practices leading into Monday’s game and wasn’t on the field during the traditional pregame warmups. It’s the third game Baldwin has missed this season after missing a pair of games in September because of a knee injury.Seattle will also be without guard D.J. Fluker, cornerback Kalian Reed, linebacker K.J. Wright, fullback Tre Madden and defensive end Branden Jackson.Erik Kendricks, the only Minnesota player listed as questionable, was active meaning he’ll have a chance to go against his brother Mychal for the second straight season. Mychal Kendricks is eligible to play for the first time since being suspended eight games after he pleaded guilty to federal insider trading charges.Minnesota had already ruled out cornerback Trae Wayens, wide receiver Chad Bebee and tight end David Morgan. Also out for the Vikings is quarterback Kyle Sloter, running back Mike Boone, and defensive linemen Tashawn Bower and Jalyn Holmes.

On Sunday, for the first time since week three White Irving Fryar Jerseys , the New England Patriots did not have enough (or frankly any) answers for an opponent. The team struggled to move the ball on offense, failed to generate momentum on defense, and once again had issues in the kicking game. As a result, the Tennessee Titans blew the team out 34-10 while dominating from start to finish in all three phases of the game. One day removed from the debacle, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady joined Westwood One Radio host Jim Gray to talk about the game — and he praised the Titans’ performance. “I thought Tennessee played pretty well,” Brady said about the team coached by former New England linebacker and Brady’s ex-teammate Mike Vrabel. “I think if they play like that all year, I think a lot of teams will have a hard time beating them. Just like we did.”Brady also acknowledged that playing the perfect complementary football the Titans played on Sunday is a recipe for success also for his own team: “If we play well like in the same they played well, teams will have a hard time beating us.” In order to do that, however Irving Fryar Jerseys 2019 , New England needs to improve its consistency on offense, defense and special teams — and according to Brady, there is also one more thing the team needs to do.“We’re still trying to figure out in ways what our identity is,” Brady told Gray. “I know we’ll be searching for that as long as the season goes. That’s part of the football season. But we really have to work hard this week to figure out the things we need to do that are going to help us the most going forward. No one really has any margin [for] error this time of year. We’re all just at where we’re at. Teams are built.”The 41-year old, who is having a statistical down-season when compared to his last three years, addd that the Patriots have already shown what they can do well. “Our identity is there to a degree,” Brady said. “We need to shape it in a way that allows us more opportunities to win. From a players’ standpoint, it’s all about us executing, bringing a great attitude to practice White James White Jerseys , practicing hard and preparing.”“That’s the best way to gain confidence going into the game,” Brady said before digging deeper into what has to be done to re-gain confidence. “Our job is to perform at a high level. When you perform the way we did [agains the Titans], nobody feels good about it. You don’t sleep. You think about it all day. It bothers you. But at the same time, you have resolve. You say, ‘Look, this is what happened. We take ownership of it. And we have to make sure as we move forward, we learn from these mistakes.’”Learning from mistakes is one part of getting back to winning. Another is getting players back from injury, particularly on offense: New England played the Titans without its starters at tight end and right guard, saw its top two wide receivers banged up James White Jerseys 2019 , and had to shuffle its offensive line because of issues at the two tackle spots. Along the way, the team also had to turn to its third-string tight end all while reintegrating a running back coming off injury.“We love having everyone healthy,” Brady said when asked a question about tight end Rob Gronkowski, who is dealing with ankle and back injuries and missed three of New England’s last four games because of them. “We love having Gronk out there. [...] I know different guys are battling through some things this time of year. It’s a very physical sport. But we’ll see how it all plays out over the next six weeks.”Brady, however, sounds confident that it will play out in New England’s favor: “I think all of our best football is ahead of us.”
Good morning George Asafo-Adjei NFL Jersey , New York Giants fans! Here are some notes to get your weekend started.Tempering expectations for R.J. McIntoshThe Giants activated defensive lineman R.J. McIntosh, the team’s fifth-round pick, this week after he had spent the entire season on the non-football illness list. Defensive coordinator James Bettcher on Friday reminded everyone just how far behind McIntosh, who did not practice at all through the spring, summer or first six weeks of the season, is.“We realize that this is like the second week of OTA worth of practices for him and we know that. There’s going to [be] fundamentals and techniques and some of those things everyday that we’re just going to keep hitting him with and keep hitting him with and the thing that I’ve been the most encouraged with him about is just his work mentality,” Bettcher said. “He’s been studying film, he’s been great with what Gary’s (Emanuel) been asking him to do and you could see some of the things that we’re really trying to work on in individual carry over and he’s very aware of the things that he needs to continue to work.”Sean Chandler ready for moreUndrafted rookie free agent defensive back Sean Chandler played 18 snaps against the Washington Redskins, his first significant action of the season. His role could expand during the second half of the year.“He’s practicing at a point where he’s communicating George Asafo-Adjei NFL Draft , he’s starting to really be in rhythm at the backend both as a safety, as a nickel where we’ve played him at times, as a guy that’s blitzed off the edge a few times for us and done some different things,” Bettcher said. “We’ll be excited to see how he plays along with some of the other young guys down the stretch.”Spinning the returner wheelKaelin Clay. Stacy Coley. Odell Beckham Jr. Cody Latimer. Jawill Davis. Quadree Henderson. The Giants have gone through a number of kickoff and punt returners this season. With Henderson, the latest and perhaps most effective, having been waived then re-signed to the practice squad this week it’s uncertain who the returner will be Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers.“Next guy up, whoever that guy is. Next guy up,” special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey said. “Whoever’s back there, we’re going to coach them up and keep it rolling.”McGaughey George Asafo-Adjei Buffalo Bills Jersey , though, couldn’t hide the idea that he’d like that guy to be Henderson. The Giants would have to make another roster move to get Henderson back on the 53-man roster.“I like what he was doing, definitely. Obviously when you get a chance to make an explosive play and he makes one, makes a couple, you always like that. That’s something that he has, that’s what he is, he’s shown that in college and we look forward to getting him back,” McGaughey said.Kyle Lauletta has to regain trustKyle Lauletta seemed sincere earlier in the week when he issued his public apology for hia arrest stemming from a traffic incident. Offensive coordinator Mike Shula said Friday that the rookie quarterback has to work to re-establish trust.“He messed up and he’s got to prove that he’s going to do the right things each and every day, going to work that way Infant Christopher Slayton Jersey , and obviously as we all know at that position, you’re held to a higher standard and that’s what you sign on for, that’s what he’s got in his mind moving forward,” Shula said. Injuries? What injuries? The three players on the Giants’ injury report all practiced fully Friday, including rookie wide receiver Jawill Davis, who had been in the NFL concussion protocol and was limited to non-contact work yesterday. The others were linebacker Alec Ogletree (hamstring) and tackle Chad Wheeler (ankle). The Giants have won one game this season. They have won significantly more than one in the past, and Giants coach Pat Shurmur thinks that can help his team moving forward, as they try to find the elusive second win.“To get the next one and the next one and the next one, . . . that鈥檚 the goal Christopher Slayton Jersey Draft ,” Shurmur said, via Mark Cannizzaro of the New York Post. “Listen, teams fight through adversity and it鈥檚 in the Giants鈥?DNA to pull this thing out. I鈥檝e seen it, I鈥檝e studied the history of it and I like the locker room that we鈥檝e assembled. I鈥檓 impressed with the guys we have in the locker room, and I know they鈥檙e going to fight.”What Shurmur isn’t going to do is start throwing chairs just to prove that he’s emotionally invested in the process.鈥淢y team knows my true personality,” he said. “For me to rant and rave or say something that can be written and reported about and me making it about me . . . I don鈥檛 think that makes you strong, and I don鈥檛 think that makes anybody think that I care any more than the players in the locker room. They know my true feelings, and that鈥檚 what I care about.鈥淚鈥檓 well aware of competition and how this works. I played in the trenches. I was an overachiever [as a center at Michigan State]. I get that, but I also know that as adults Christopher Slayton NFL Jersey , sometimes, you don鈥檛 just do it and just say whatever the heck you want. This is about team-building and trying to do this the right way, and along the way we鈥檝e got to win more games and I am aware of that.鈥漁f course, an exhaustive look at his team’s DNA won’t show as much success as he’d suggest. Since their last Super Bowl win after the 2011 season, the Giants have one playoff appearance, losing in the Wild Card round after the 2016 season.
