WASHINGTON (AP) — Missed tackles. Missed assignments. Missed communication. All are plausible explanations for what’s gone wrong with the Washington Redskins‘ defense lately.A unit that was a big reason for the team’s strong start to the season is also now a big reason for the Redskins’ rapid descent to 6-6 and a three-game losing streak heading into Sunday’s matchup against the visiting New York Giants.“We’ve just got to get off the field,” Redskins cornerback Josh Norman said. “Got to find a way to get off the field.”Only 12 of the league’s 32 teams have given up more yards per game than the 367.4 the Redskins are allowing this season. That’s bad enough as it is.But narrow the scope to the past five outings Pernell McPhee Jersey , and Washington’s average balloons to more than 420 yards. Over the past three games, Washington’s opponents have averaged 27.3 points.“Defensively, we have to play better. We have to play better. These 430-yard games are too much for the defensive personnel that we do have. We have no excuses there,” coach Jay Gruden said. “So the challenge will be, ‘Hey, if we have to win 7-6, let’s do it.'”To Norman’s point, the third-down conversion numbers are the most staggering of all.For the season, the Redskins are letting foes get the first down 44 percent of the time; only three clubs are worse. Over just the most recent five games, it gets worse, rising to a 54 percent success rate on third downs. It’s probably not a coincidence that Washington is 1-4 in those games, dropping from first place to third in the NFC East. And now comes the challenge of dealing with the Giants and their two offensive stars: rookie running back Saquon Barkley, third in the NFL in rushing yards, and wideout Odell Beckham Jr., who threw one TD pass and caught another last week.“We’ll work on things that maybe have hurt us in the past and we’ve got to work on those and get better at them,” Redskins defensive coordinator Greg Manusky said, “and just got to make sure we make tackles in the open field.”Unlike all of the injury issues on offense — Mark Sanchez is Washington’s third starting QB in less than a month, and the team is on to its third pair of starting guards — the defense has been relatively healthy.Plus, it was supposed to be getting help when the Redskins acquired Green Bay Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix at the trade deadline. Things only have been getting worse lately, though.“It’s frustrating,” Norman said, “but we’ll find it.”Notes: LB Ryan Anderson (hamstring) and G Tony Bergstrom (knee, ankle) were ruled out for Sunday, while LB Zach Brown (illness), C Chase Roullier (knee), DL Matt Ioannidis (bruised shin) and WR Josh Doctson (strained hip) were listed as questionable. … With all the injuries along the offensive line, Gruden said the team hadn’t yet decided who will start at the two guard spots and that the team might do some rotating of players during the game.

If general manager Kevin Colbert is to be believed Diontae Johnson Jersey Youth , the Steelers star quarterback could play well beyond 2021." to a two-year contract extension the day before the 2019 NFL Draft, many assumed it would be the final deal of his illustrious NFL career. Set to expire at the conclusion of the 2021 season, the relatively short contract is due to end a few months before his 40th birthday on March 2 of that year. But for a league that has players like Tom Brady (41) and Drew Brees (40) still ranked among the best players at the position, it is not that hard to believe that Big Ben would still be able to play beyond his current deal. A scenario that general manager Kevin Colbert could easily envisage happening when appearing as a guest with Mike Florio on a PFT Podcast. For a man who doesn’t need money, Roethlisberger sure accepted a lot of it from the Steelers during his latest negotiation. But despite his flirtation with retirement a few years ago, there could be plenty of incentive to keep playing into his 40’s if the team is still contending and Pittsburgh is willing to pay. With a relatively young supporting cast at the skill positions Justin Layne Pittsburgh Steelers Jersey , the development of players like James Conner and JuJu Smith-Schuster could make the Steelers a tough team to walk away from, but it seems more likely that the fate of his teammates along the offensive line will dictate his future more. After Ramon Foster (33), Alejandro Villanueva (30) is the next oldest among the starters up front, with Maurkice Pouncey (29) still under 30. Villanueva and Foster are both under contract through 2020, with Pouncey’s deal set to expire the same year as Roethlisberger’s. And while Foster maybe considering retirement at that stage in his career, it is imagined that Pouncey and Villanueva could have some years left in them. Should they end up leaving Pittsburgh when their contract expires too Justin Layne Pittsburgh Steelers Jersey , it would not be a surprise if that was the signal for Big Ben to bow out as well.If Roethlisberger is looking for input from other teammates, Mason Rudolph might have his own suggestions as well. The Raiders’ offense showed it could move the ball while the defense played far better than many expected.Oakland gave up a third-down conversion on the first drive on a Blake Bortles pass, and it would have been easy to shake your head and say, “same old Raiders.” But the defense locked down and forced a punt, chasing Bortles all over the field and making him throw two incompletions. The Raiders’ offense got going, with the big play being a 38-yard dart from Mike Glennon to JJ Nelson. The diminutive receiver has been making big plays all camp and he kept it up here, snagging one over the head of a Rams corner who was not turned around. The drive culminated in a seven-yard touchdown run up the gut from Deandre Washington Leon Hall Jersey , and Oakland led 7-0.Los Angeles kept shooting themselves in the foot with penalties and punted again. Near the end of the first quarter, Glennon threw an extremely ill-advised pass which was intercepted by Kevin Peterson. Even though the Rams had great field position, the Raiders’ defense made them punt again after an Arden Key sack.Glennon again led the Raiders down to the red zone with around three minutes left in the first half, but threw another pick to Steven Parker on the 1-yard line which was returned to the 40. The Rams got a field goal out of it, and the score at the half was 7-3.Oakland got the ball to start the second half, and Nathan Peterman was at the helm. He showed off his poise and his wheels with a 50-yard run that brought Oakland into the red zone. He capped off this drive with a short slant pass to Keelan Doss for a touchdown, and Oakland led 14-3. That was the end of the scoring for the game, as the third-stringers couldn’t get much going against one another in the fourth quarter. However Doug Martin Jersey , Mack Brown looked good rushing for Oakland, and had 37 yards on nine carries. The Raiders rushed for 149 yards, much of that coming from Peterman. They passed for 258 yards in total, and held Los Angeles to 190 yards from scrimmage. There’s a lot to build on here. Oakland will take on the Cardinals next Thursday in Glendale. Pierson-El’s receptions and receiving yards both led the team through the eight games the team played in before the AAF folded.Pierson-El had been signed previously by the Raiders on April 8, but was then waived on April 30 following the NFL Draft. In a corresponding move, the Raiders waived Saeed Blacknall, a 2018 undrafted free agent from Penn State who spent time on the practice squad last season and was a reserve/future signee in January.

Former NFL pass rusher DeMarcus Ware has committed $10 Adam Gotsis Jersey ,000 to pay for grave markers for the 23 victims of Sunday’s tornado in Beauregard, Alabama. release Friday afternoon about Ware’s donation, the reports.Ware was born in Lee County and the state honored him three years ago, declaring April 19 as DeMarcus Ware Day.“When I heard the news, I didn’t know where to start; I just knew I had to do something,” Ware said in a news release. “We are coming up on ‘DeMarcus Ware Day’ in the state of Alabama and when that proclamation was declared three years ago, I made a vow to always do my part to protect ‘Sweet Home Alabama.’ All things considered, this donation is small in comparison to the devastating feeling of burying a loved one. I look forward to making an even bigger impact in the weeks to come as relief needs continue to be assessed.”The EF4 tornado packed 170 mph winds as it left 70 miles of destruction in its wake. OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — For the Raiders, playing out the string of another losing season has become an all-too-regular occurrence in recent years. They are on their way to their 12th season with double-digit losses in the past 16 years. For the Denver Broncos, it’s rather new territory. The Broncos (6-8) head into Monday night’s game at Oakland (3-11) needing to win their final two games to avoid their first back-to-back losing campaigns since 1971-72.Article continues below ...“We want to win. These next two games are important for us to finish the right way,” coach Vance Joseph said. “That part is very important to me. It’s about winning. That’s what it’s about. It’s not about losing Jake Butt Jersey , it’s about winning. That’s very important to our football team and our coaches.”The Broncos have by far the longest streak in the NFL without consecutive losing seasons with New England holding the next longest, having last done it in 1992-93.Denver began the month with playoff aspirations after beating Cincinnati to get to 6-6. But back-to-back losses to San Francisco and Cleveland ended those hopes and had the Broncos looking for other goals.“Me personally, I just want to finish strong,” cornerback Bradley Roby said. “Hopefully get some more turnovers. I only have three so far this year and I just want to make some more. I love to play and I love to make turnovers. That’s my focus, just to have fun.”The Raiders are just hoping to get out of this season without more injuries. A series of injuries to the offensive line has played a big part in Derek Carr getting sacked 47 times — third most in the league. Carr is the first player in four years to get sacked at least three times in seven consecutive games, but remains on pace for his first career 4,000-yard season.“I think he’s hanging in there,” coach Jon Gruden said. “No question, I am sure he is sore. He knows he is carrying us right now on offense. That’s what a franchise quarterback is paid to do.”Here are some other things to watch:GOODBYE OAKLANDThe game could be the final one ever at the Coliseum. The Raiders are set to move to Las Vegas in 2020 but have no lease for next year. Oakland city officials are suing the Raiders over the move and the team has threatened to play somewhere else because of it. Gruden said thinking about the end of the Coliseum almost makes him cry, but he can’t wait to see what the atmosphere will be like Monday night.“I get excited thinking about it,” he said. “Just raging in the Black Hole. Rocking and raging down there after the Steelers game, after a lot of wins over the years. Seeing a lot of the old highlights of the great Raiders teams. I get excited and I get emotional about it. Hopefully Brendan Langley Jersey , we get it all resolved where we can continue to play here.”ROOKIE SENSATIONBroncos running back Phillip Lindsay has been bottled up the last two weeks but he’s 9 rushing yards shy of 1,000 and just became the first offensive undrafted player selected to the Pro Bowl. Lindsay said he never pondered the possibility, suggesting that was a long-term goal of his a few years into his career. Lindsay started out as a special-teamer and didn’t even become Denver’s featured back until midseason, starting the last seven games.“I’m an undrafted free agent. To be able to have 100 yards in a game was great. To get a touchdown, to be able to play at (Mile High Stadium), that’s the stuff right there that I dreamt about,” Lindsay said.ROUGH ROOKIERaiders first-round left tackle Kolton Miller has had a rough rookie year. The 15th overall pick in the draft was hampered by a knee injury he played through earlier in the season and has appeared overmatched against a gantlet of top pass rushers he’s faced in his first NFL season. According to Pro Football Focus, Miller has allowed more sacks (14) and total pressures (59) than any player in the league. It doesn’t figure to get easier this week against Denver’s dynamic duo of Von Miller and Bradley Chubb.“He’s had some really good games. He’s had some games where he’s had his eyes opened,” Gruden said. “He’s not the first rookie left tackle that has gone through this. We’d like to see him finish with some authority.”CORNERED AT CORNERBACKThe Broncos signed free agent Craig Mager after putting star cornerback Chris Harris Jr. on IR with a broken right leg. Denver also expects to get Brendan Langley and Isaac Yiadom back from concussions and will have Bradley Roby back after he required five stitches last week for a laceration on his chin that he could stick his tongue through. And Jamar Taylor is back. His ejection last weekend left the Broncos with only one healthy cornerback in Tremaine Brock, and Cleveland scored its winning TD with safeties Justin Simmons and Dymonte Harris forced into route coverage in the fourth quarter.

RENTON http://www.houstontexansteamonline.com/kahale-warring-jersey , Wash. (AP) to a former first-round pick to help fill one of the gaps on its revamped defense. The Seahawks and free agent outside linebacker/defensive end Barkevious Mingo reached agreement on a two-year deal on Wednesday at the start of the new NFL league year. According to a person with knowledge of the deal, Mingo’s deal is worth up to $10.1 million and includes $3.2 million in guaranteed money. The person spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because the deal had not been announced by the team.It was a rare addition for Seattle on the first day of free agency. The Seahawks have typically waited for the first rush of signings to subside before jumping into the free agent pool. But the addition of Mingo also stopped a wave of departures from the Seahawks on the defensive side, highlighted by the subtractions of cornerback Richard Sherman and defensive end Michael Bennett in the past week.Mingo, 27 http://www.indianapoliscoltsteamonline.com/bobby-okereke-jersey , was the No. 6 overall pick in the 2013 draft by Cleveland, but after three underwhelming seasons with the Browns has bounced to New England and Indianapolis the past two seasons.Mingo started six games last season for the Colts and finished with a career-high 32 tackles. He’ll likely be in the competition for the strongside linebacker spot in Seattle’s defense playing near the line of scrimmage. Seattle has struggled to find a consistent option for that position since losing Bruce Irvin in free agency after the 2015 season. Seattle used Michael Wilhoite and Terence Garvin as the primary starters at the position last season.— Former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb believes he deserves a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. So we put the question out to a vote, on Twitter. With nearly 40,000 votes cast during the 24-hour window http://www.jacksonvillejaguarsteamonline.com/jawaan-taylor-jersey , 75 percent of those responding disagreed with McNabb.Public opinion doesn’t matter. McNabb’s opinion doesn’t matter. What ultimately matters is whether enough members of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee deem McNabb worthy of enshrinement. And it remains difficult to see McNabb ever getting enough votes to get in, relative to the performances of his peers and the glut of Hall of Fame candidates whose careers have ended (Peyton Manning), whose careers soon will end (Drew Brees, Philip Rivers http://www.jacksonvillejaguarsteamonline.com/gardner-minshew-ii-jersey , Ben Roethlisberger), and whose career has to end at some point, right? (Tom Brady).Other quarterbacks may suffer the same fate in a numbers game featuring a collection of quarterbacks with stellar numbers. Tony Romo and Eli Manning also may have a very hard time getting in.Romo, like McNabb http://www.losangelesramsteamonline.com/darrell-henderson-jersey , has no championships to show for his career. Eli has two, but Selection Committee member Charean Williams raised an intriguing point earlier this year on. The late-career struggles of Peyton Manning’s kid brother could actually undermine (and eventually derail) Eli’s shot at enshrinement.

Baldwin developed a strong partnership over seven years in the Seahawks offense http://www.bengalscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-ryan-finley-jersey , but Wilson won’t be able to rely on Baldwin this season as the wideout has retired from the NFL.It’s hard to envision Wilson forging that kind of relationship with rookie wide receiver DK Metcalf right off the bat, but the two players are doing what they can to ensure they’re on the same wavelength come the start of the regular season. Wilson and Metcalf have both posted videos from workouts at UCLA this week with Wilson captioning his “just the beginning” in reference to things to come with the second-round pick.Metcalf’s video shows him running an out and comes with the caption “something besides a go.” That references the concern that Metcalf was a one-trick pony coming out of Ole Miss and, as noted in June Renell Wren Jersey , Wilson said at the end of offseason work that he’d already seen more to the rookie’s game.“Everybody knows about his ability to run and everything else, and jump and catch and all that,” Wilson said. “You guys have been talking about that for months http://www.bengalscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-michael-jordan-jersey , but I think more than anything else, it’s his brain and how he processes information and how quickly he understands it. He’s really intelligent. He really understands the game really well. He takes coaching really well. He gets extra work. He’s a legit pro wide receiver. He’s everything that everybody was talking about in terms of what he’s capable of and more.”Metcalf’s work also earned positive reviews from Pete Carroll this spring and earning Wilson’s trust this summer should lead to plenty of opportunities for Metcalf in the fall. In the division among Steelers and former Steelers about what kind of leader Ben Roethlisberger is, put center Maurkice Pouncey in the pro-Ben camp.Pouncey T.J. Hockenson Jersey , who has snapped to Roethlisberger for nine seasons, took to Instagram today to stick up for his quarterback.“I’ve been with Ben going on 10 years I swear on my kids he is a true LEADER!” Pouncey wrote. “Sucks to see players who leave and are mad at the organization now try and point fingers like they are perfect! But this is the world we live in now!”Pouncey didn’t call out any of those “players who leave” by name, but he was presumably referring to Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell http://www.lionscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-jahlani-tavai-jersey , as well as former Steelers running back Josh Harris, who created a stir by accusing Roethlisberger of once fumbling on purpose in a game. What’s clear is that Roethlisberger has been a polarizing figure in Pittsburgh, with some teammates loving him and some not thinking much of him. The Steelers seem to be getting rid of the players who don’t like their franchise quarterback.

Matt Shaub is starting for the Falcons, who are taking a five-game losing streak into a home game against Seattle. The Saints want to keep quarterback Teddy Bridgewater Dexter Williams Jersey , and Bridgewater’s interest in staying with the Saints apparently hinges on his ability to become the team’s next starting quarterback. Which makes the status of the person determining the starting lineup a major factor.Clarence E. Hill, Jr. of the reports that the rumors linking Saints coach Sean Payton to the Cowboys’ job in 2020 have become an issue in Bridgewater’s decision-making process. With Cowboys coach Jason Garrett entering the final year of his contract, with the Cowboys intent on not extending the deal Nick Bosa Jersey , and with a persistent belief that owner Jerry Jones inevitably will try to bring Payton back to the Cowboys, where he served as offensive coordinator before taking the Saints’ job, Bridgewater’s concern seems legitimate L.J. Collier Jersey , if he does indeed hope to become the next New Orleans quarterback.Bridgewater reportedly planned to sign a new contract with the Saints, a team that gave up a third-round pick to get him from the Jets last year. Started from the bottom now we’re here Michael Deiter Jersey ,” he bellows. “Started from the bottom now the whole team here.”While the 2013 Drake tune is a little old to be the team’s anthem, the sentiment of the song couldn’t be more fitting for these Texans. They occupied the basement of the AFC South after opening the season with losses to New England, Tennessee and the New York Giants by a combined 13 points. After falling into such a big hole early, the Texans were written off by many as headed to a lost season.Everyone insists that such a defeatist sentiment never took hold within the team, with the struggles galvanizing them to get on track and prove the doubters wrong.“Don’t quit. Everyone keeps fighting. Everyone keeps believing,” quarterback Deshaun Watson said. “Everyone keeps fighting to the very, very end. That is what we do. Regardless of the situation or the adversity, we are always going to keep fighting. That is how we feel.”Houston is the second team in NFL history to win six in a row after opening 0-3, the first since the Giants in 1970. The winning streak has the Texans in first place in their division and in good position to compete for their third AFC South title in the last four seasons.A big reason for Houston’s turnaround has been the play of Watson and defensive end J.J. Watt. Both have started each game this year after having their 2017 seasons cut short by major injuries. Watson tore a knee ligament in practice after appearing in seven games in 2017. Watt played just eight games in the previous two years because of back surgeries and a broken leg.Watt is tied for third in the NFL with nine sacks and his four forced fumbles are tied for most in the league.“I know he probably doesn’t want to talk about it too much, but I’ve never seen anything like it,” coach Bill O’Brien said. “To come back from what he’s been able to come back from, some really serious injuries, and to be able to play at the level that he’s playing at Daniel Jones Jersey , it just says all you need to know about him and how much he cares about the team and how much he wants to help this organization win.”Watson, the 12th overall pick in last year’s draft, has thrown for 2,389 yards with 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions despite being slowed by lung and rib injuries. O’Brien said his diligence in coming to the facility every day after his injury last season to study film and talk to coaches has helped Watson take a step forward this year.“He’s grown a lot,” O’Brien said. “He’s just an awesome guy to work with. He cares about studying, he cares about putting time in to prepare for each game. I think he’s learned a lot about NFL defenses. He’s had a lot thrown at him defensively this year, whether it’s third-down defenses, red-area defenses. He’s improved every week.”Watson has been helped by the stellar play of receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who is No. 3 in the NFL with 894 yards receiving and whose seven touchdowns are tied for second. The Texans hope that new addition Demaryius Thomas, acquired in a trade with Denver last Tuesday, will make more of an impact after the break with some time to learn the offense.Hopkins, who has five touchdowns in the last four games, said despite this strong stretch the Texans are approaching things the same way they did when they were desperate for a victory.“We’ve got the same mentality Dexter Lawrence Jersey , and that’s win,” he said. “That’s why we go to practice and that’s why we wake up every day. It’s the same mentality we had when we were 0-3. Nothing’s changed.”They know that if they let up, their season will end prematurely, just as it did when they went 4-12 in 2017.O’Brien let out a slight chuckle when asked if 0-3 feels like forever ago.“It’s not a really long time ago,” he said. “I think our players understand that, and I think the difference between 0-3 and where we are now is not a big difference. We’re just making some more plays, we’re coaching some things better. I think our guys have to — and they do — understand that every week is going to be difficult.”First up is a trip to Washington on Nov. 18 before a Monday night matchup with Tennessee on Nov. 26 in the first of three straight home games when a win would be key in moving closer to taking their division.“It’s just important to note that we haven’t been blowing anybody out,” safety Tyrann Mathieu said. “I don’t think we are a complacent group of guys. We’ve been in some fist fights, some real close ballgames, so it’s not like everything is cookie cutter and everything is going all good for us.”“We still have things we can improve on and work on, so I think that’s what’s going to keep us pushing forward.” CHICAGO (AP) — David Montgomery showed all the reasons why he was one of the top running backs in this year’s NFL draft.Patience. Vision. Toughness.A few more carries at the right time, and the Chicago Bears might have won Sunday.Montgomery broke out with a career-high 135 yards rushing in his seventh NFL game, but he only touched the ball once inside the 20 on Chicago’s first three drives to the red zone— part of a day full of curious decisions in a 17-16 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.“We were just going with the game Deandre Baker Jersey ,” Montgomery said. “Some games are run. Some games are pass. You just go with what works. The play-calling was awesome today. Everybody did their part. The ball just didn’t roll in our corner.”One week after Chicago managed just 17 yards rushing on a franchise-low seven attempts in a 36-25 loss to New Orleans, Montgomery had 27 of the Bears’ 38 carries. He scored his third career touchdown on a 4-yard run in the third quarter, giving Chicago a 16-7 lead. But the Bears (3-4) were unable to close out the Chargers (3-5), who had dropped three in a row and five of six.Mitchell Trubisky threw an interception and lost a fumble, helping Los Angeles rally. But he scrambled for 11 yards to move the Bears to the Chargers 21 with about 40 seconds left.Rather than try to move closer, coach Matt Nagy had Trubisky take a knee and called his last timeout with 4 seconds left. Eddy Pineiro then missed a 41-yard field goal as time expired, giving the Chargers the dramatic victory.“I have zero thought of running the ball and taking the chance of fumbling the football,” Nagy said. “They know you’re running the football, so you lose 3, 4 yards, so that wasn’t even in our process as coaches to think about that.“We were in field goal range before the scramble, and then we got the scramble, so that didn’t even cross my mind.”Los Angeles played without starting defensive linemen Brandon Mebane and Justin Jones due to injuries Oshane Ximines Jersey , and Chicago looked to take advantage of their absence right from the beginning.Montgomery rushed for 10 yards on the Bears’ first play from scrimmage. He had 12 carries for 85 yards at halftime, including a 55-yarder for the team’s first run of at least 50 yards since Jordan Howard’s 53-yard rush during a 27-24 overtime win at Baltimore on Oct. 15, 2017.“Whenever your opportunity comes you’ve got to try to be ready for it,” said Montgomery, a third-round pick out of Iowa State. “I just tried to make sure I took advantage of every opportunity today.”But Chicago was held to four field-goal tries in its four trips to the red zone in the first half. Pineiro hit the right upright on a 33-yarder in the first quarter, and then connected from 22, 25 and 19 yards. The first three times the Bears drove inside the 20, Montgomery had one carry for a 2-yard loss in the red zone. After his long run in the second quarter, he touched the ball three times inside the 20 and got stuffed on each carry.“It seemed like they made the plays in the red zone and we didn’t,” Trubisky said. “I thought we had a good plan this week to get it in there. They just made plays in the red zone and we weren’t connecting. So credit to them.”

DAVIE Drew Lock Jersey , Fla. (AP) — winning the Super Bowl, he paused for several seconds and laughed.“I kissed my wife on the field,” Flores said. Then it was on to the next challenge, and a big one — fixing the Miami Dolphins. Flores, the New England Patriots‘ linebackers coach and defensive play-caller, was hired Monday as Miami’s head coach. He accepted the job hours after helping the Patriots shut down the high-scoring Los Angeles Rams for a 13-3 victory in the title game Sunday night in Atlanta.“It has been a whirlwind 24 hours,” Flores said with a smile at a news conference that drew two dozen cameras.“Looking at this crowd here, you’d think we won the Super Bowl,” Miami owner Stephen Ross said. “I’ve never seen this many people in this room. … To me, you start an organization by signing a great leader. I believe we’ve found that leader.”Flores was the first person the Dolphins interviewed after they fired coach Adam Gase on Dec. 31. They decided on Jan. 11 to offer the job to Flores but had to wait until New England’s season ended to complete an agreement.“I wasn’t in a rush to become a head coach,” said Flores, 37. “I had a good job in New England.”Flores said the job with the Patriots’ longtime AFC East foil was appealing because he shared a vision with general manager Chris Grier on how to build a winner. While preparing for the Super Bowl, Flores also began to hire a Miami staff. The group is expected to include former Colts and Lions head coach Jim Caldwell as assistant head coach, Patriots receivers coach Chad O’Shea as offensive coordinator and Packers assistant Patrick Graham as defensive coordinator. The son of Honduran immigrants, Flores grew up in Brooklyn and has spent his entire coaching career with the Patriots. He joined them in 2004 and became their de facto defensive coordinator a year ago after Matt Patricia left to join the Lions as their head coach.Flores is the ninth former assistant to Bill Belichick to become a head coach.“I think he’ll be awesome http://www.denverbroncosteamonline.com/dre_mont-jones-jersey ,” Patriots cornerback Devin McCourty said. “But he’s in the division, so I told him he can’t win too many games.”Flores becomes the NFL’s fourth minority head coach for 2019, which is half the total of last season. Diversity advocates have questioned the effectiveness of the Rooney Rule requiring teams to interview at least one minority candidate for any head coach or general manager vacancy.A former Boston College linebacker, Flores also coached offense and special teams with New England. He has a long relationship with Grier, who took charge of football operations in the recent organizational shake-up.Both started as scouts for the Patriots, the Dolphins’ longtime nemeses in the AFC East. Flores will report to Grier under the team’s new, more streamlined leadership structure.Among those attending the news conference were Flores’ wife, Jennifer, their three children and his high school coach. Also on hand was the last quarterback to lead Miami to a Super Bowl, Dan Marino, in 1984, and the last quarterback to help the Dolphins win one, Bob Griese, in 1973.Flores is leaving a team that won its sixth Super Bowl since 2002 to join a franchise that has not won a playoff game since 2000 and plans to rebuild after another dismal season. The Dolphins went 7-9 in 2018 to miss the playoffs for the 15th time in 17 years. They allowed 6,257 yards T.J. Hockenson Jersey , the most in franchise history, and the offense was also among the league’s worst, finishing ranked 31st.One win came at home against New England, when the Dolphins scored a miraculous touchdown with a pass and double lateral on the final play. The Patriots had expected a Hail Mary pass, and second-guessers complained that their secondary included lumbering 6-foot-6 Rob Gronkowski.“My last memory here wasn’t a great one,” Flores said with a chuckle. That improbable finish couldn’t save Gase. Ross fired him, ordered a roster overhaul and acknowledged it may take several seasons to build a winner. The revamp is likely to include the departure of quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who has been with Miami since 2012 but has never taken a postseason snap.Flores becomes Miami’s 10th head coach since 2004, including three interim coaches. Grier noted that two of Flores’ predecessors, Gase and Tony Sparano, reached the playoffs in their first season before the team backslid, so Miami will try a more patient approach.“We want to build this where it’s long term and you can win for many years, instead of trying to go year to year,” Grier said.Flores is braced for the frustrations that come with rebuilding.“That’s part of leadership — dealing with adversity,” he said. “There’s going to be some pain. There’s pain for every team.”As for his curtailed Super Bowl celebration Justice Hill Jersey , he wasn’t complaining.“No, this is not getting cheated at all,” Flores said. “That was a great experience, but I guess I’ve always been this way — I look forward.” The tripleheader on Thanksgiving isn’t all that tasty, except for the traditional opener at Detroit. The NFC North leader from Minnesota visits Ford Field this year, and carries a two-game edge over the Lions. So this is a particularly huge game for the hosts. ”They’re all big,” coach Jim Caldwell says. ”Every single one of them’s a factor in the grand scheme of things. The most important one is the next one. ”Someone else might have a different philosophy. I don’t believe in functioning that way. My experience has been it can work against you more than it works for you when you start looking at the grand scheme of things. `You can’t act as if one game is going to make a complete difference in the season, because you don’t know what’s going to happen the rest of the season. You have no idea.” Judging by Pro Picks’ struggles last week against the spread, having no idea is a familiar concept. Cincinnati Iman Marshall Jersey , in the form of multiple assistant coaches being relieved of their duties. This move implies plenty, and it invites plenty more speculation. Here’s what folks around the league definitely believe: (1) the Bengals know who they want; (2) the person they want isn’t available to be hired yet (because his team is still playing); (3) the person they want has preliminarily indicated he wants the job; and (4) the person they want has indicated that he won’t want those assistant coaches to stick around. There’s nothing else tangible at this point, although there’s an emerging belief that 81-year-old owner Mike Brown has delegated much of the decision-making on this next hire to his daughter, Katie Blackburn, and her husband, Troy. That’s sparking speculation that they indeed have gone out of the building for a new coach, that it likely will be an offensive-minded coach (the opposite of Marvin Lewis), and that it very well could be the next guy from a line of offensive coordinators who have become successful head coaches: Eric Bieniemy of the Chiefs.Bieniemy addressed his situation with reporters on Wednesday.“I’d like to thank coach [Andy] Reid for really trusting me and putting me in this situation to have this opportunity http://www.ravenscheapstores.com/trace-mcsorley-jersey-cheap ,” Bieniemy said. “Also, grateful that Clark [Hunt] and Mark [Donovan] would agree to allow me to be the coordinator. I will say this, I’ve said this to a few people that I’ve had the opportunity to speak to. Everyone should be blessed and fortunate to have that opportunity. It gives you the opportunity to see things from a different perspective, but on top of that it’s one of those things that, ‘Hey, you know what, I’ve been working a lot of years to be put in this situation to have this opportunity.? But that was last week, this is now. Now David Montgomery Jersey , it’s on to the Colts.”Watch the video of Bieniemy’s comments, which as noted by Joe Goodberry of TheAthletic.com include a smile that potentially gives away Bieniemy’s knowledge that he’s in the process of parlaying his opportunity to be the Kansas City offensive coordinator into a head-coaching job of his own.The Bengals could do a lot worse (and, by considering Hue Jackson for the job, they almost did). Chiefs players have raved about Bieniemy, who succeeded Matt Nagy and Doug Pederson. At a time when Bengals fans aren’t raving about anything relating to their team, Bieniemy could be the key to turning things around. The Falcons feel like they’re deeper at running back than they’ve been for some time and the man on top of that depth chart feels like he’s a stronger player than in the past.Injuries limited Devonta Freeman to just two games last season, but Freeman said in the spring that he’s back to having fun on the field. On Monday, he spent some time discussing how he was able to turn the negative into a positive ahead of his return to action in 2019.“I got stronger from that http://www.bearscheapstores.com/riley-ridley-jersey-cheap ,” Freeman said, via the team’s website. “I got closer to God. I learned how to be patient more. I [learned] better people skills. All around the stuff that I couldn’t do, I took advantage of the stuff I could do. I have a greater appreciation for life.”Finding a way to grow during adverse times is a helpful life skill, although Freeman would likely prefer to limit his obstacles to opposing defenses this time around.

EAST RUTHERFORD Brian Burns Jersey , N.J. (AP) —with 2015 first-round draft pick Ereck Flowers.Coach Pat Shurmur said Monday the offensive tackle who was the ninth pick overall was going to be cut or traded by 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The move isn’t a surprise for the Giants (1-4). Flowers lost his starting job at right tackle to Chad Wheeler after the second game of the season and the play of the line picked up.Flowers has been a disappointment since being taken out of Miami. He was supposed to be the team’s left tackle for the next decade. His play was so poor New York signed former New England Patriots left tackle Nate Solder to a four-year, $62 million contract as a free agent this spring .New general manager Dave Gettleman also decided after last season not to pick up the option on the final year of Flowers’ rookie contract. He is making almost $2.4 million this season.During the offseason, former Giants coach Ben McAdoo criticized Flowers play.Shurmur moved Flowers to right tackle after Solder was signed and said he was getting a fresh start.Flowers was not at the Giants’ practice Monday.“It has run its course,” Shurmur said of the decision to drop Flowers. “We appreciate Ereck’s efforts. We wish him the best. Sometimes a change of scenery is good for a person.”Flowers started 48 regular-season games and one postseason game in three-plus seasons. Christof Innerhofer was again fastest in training Friday for the last World Cup downhill race before the Olympics.

The Italian, who was also fastest in Thursday’s practice, sped down the 3.3-kilometer (2-mile) Kandahar course in 1 minute http://www.panthersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-greg-little-jersey , 55.57 seconds to edge Matthias Mayer by 0.63 seconds and Dominik Paris by 0.67.

”I am very satisfied with my trainings the past two days and I have generally been feeling very confident on my skis,” Innerhofer said. ”I used every day to train hard.”

Vincent Kriechmayr was fourth, ahead of Matteo Marsaglia and local favorite Thomas Dressen, who was 0.88 behind Innerhofer.

Dressen ended Germany’s 13-year wait for a men’s downhill win last Saturday in Kitzbuehel, Austria.

”I still do not realize what I have achieved,” Dressen said. ”Knowing that I can be part of the best racers with a perfect run gives me a lot of confidence.”

Downhill leader Aksel Lund Svindal was 0.90 off the pace in a tie for seventh with Hannes Reichelt and Norwegian teammate Aleksander Aamodt Kilde.

Svindal Will Grier Jersey , who has two victories this season, has never finished on the podium in seven attempts in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

”Hopefully it will work out this year,” the Norwegian said.

Beat Feuz, who is also challenging for the downhill title, was 24th.

”In the end, it is about who wins the small crystal ball – Svindal or I http://www.panthersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-christian-miller-jersey ,” said the Swiss skier, who is only 10 points behind his rival.

Saturday’s downhill will be followed by a giant slalom on Sunday.

Lots of people are betting on them to win the Super Bowl. That puts sports books in an unusual position this year: Desperately rooting against the Browns to win the Super Bowl.If the Browns win the Super Bowl http://www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com/oshane-ximines-jersey , a lot of bettors will win a lot of money, and a lot of sports books will lose a lot of money. According to ESPN, more Super Bowl bets have been placed on the Browns than on any other team at William Hill sports books in Iowa, Nevada Julian Love Jersey , New Jersey and West Virginia. More Super Bowl bets have also been placed on the Browns than on any other team at MGM sports books in Nevada. And bookmaker PointsBet says it will take a bath if the Browns win it all.“We get absolutely throttled if [the Browns] win the Super Bowl,” Matthew Chaprales, head of content for PointsBet, told ESPN. “It’s the biggest liability on the books since we came online in the U.S. http://www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com/darius-slayton-jersey , and, frankly, it’s not even close.”Oddsmakers opened the Browns at 22-1 to win the Super Bowl and now have them at 8-1. That’s a big move in the Browns’ direction, and it’s because the betting public believes. The Titans will be without left tackle Taylor Lewan for the first four games of the 2019 season.Lewan posted a video to Twitter on Wednesday to announce that he was informed by the league a few weeks ago that he failed a test for ostarine Quinnen Williams Jersey , which is banned under the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. In the video, Lewan acknowledges that the NFL’s policy makes him responsible for anything that goes into his body but said he did not knowingly take a supplement containing ostarine. Giants first-round pick Dexter Lawrence had the same explanation after testing positive for ostarine while at Clemson.“I went and did a polygraph test about ostarine and knowingly taking it,” Lewan said. “I passed that test. I’ve never taken anything that would cheat the game.”Lewan said he will release the results of that polygraph test in the coming days, but no result would allow him to avoid the four-game ban that accompanies a failed test. Dennis Kelly and Austin Pasztor are the top backup tackles for the Titans and one of them will likely be filling in for Lewan to open the season.

BEREA Shareef Miller Jersey , Ohio (AP) — to Ohio, it didn’t take him long to notice a change.“I feel something in the air,” he said. “Something special that Cleveland hasn’t had for a while.”Beckham has breathed new life into the Browns. The superstar wide receiver held court for nearly 20 minutes Wednesday in his first media availability since Cleveland introduced him to its ravenous fan base in a news conference on April 1. Beckham, whose antics in New York became tabloid fodder for five seasons, spent most of the past eight weeks away from the team getting his body into peak condition and his mind right. The 26-year-old said he’s never felt better.“Mentally, physically, spiritually, I’ve gone to a different place,” he said. “For the people that know me, they know I’m in a place I’ve never been in in my entire life and I’m just happy with where I am at and I’m always going to keep it pushing.”Wearing an orange zip-up jacket with a pulled-up brown hoodie framing his face, Beckham smiled easily and often during his interview session while fenced in by one dozen TV cameras. He feels refreshed and can hardly contain his excitement to be joining an offense that includes quarterback Baker Mayfield and close friend Jarvis Landry.“I’m almost giddy http://www.eaglesfootballauthentics.com/zach-brown-jersey-authentic ,” he said. “I feel like a little kid with the excitement that I have, seeing Baker, seeing these guys. We talk a lot about this offense, but this defense is something special and this team is really coming together. But the good part about it is that it’s the beginning of June and we still got a lot of time, we still got a training camp to go through and I feel like this team is going to come together.“But I’m beyond excited about the opportunity I have here to start over, a new team. Obviously, the goal is always going to be the same — to hang banners, that’s what you play this game. We know we got a lot of expectations. We got a lot of work to do and I think we’ll get there.”The Browns are just happy he’s around. They haven’t seen much of the three-time Pro Bowler, who skipped the majority of the team’s voluntary offseason workout program, showing up for just one practice while opting to train on his own in California.Beckham, of course http://www.raidersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-isaiah-johnson-jersey , stayed in the spotlight during his extended absence by chronicling his trips to Coachella, the Met Gala, and Monaco’s Grand Prix with a steady stream of postings on Instagram. It’s how Beckham rolls, and the Browns are quickly learning that his off-field moves will be as scrutinized as any pass patterns. But they were OK with his solo mission, and believe going forward he’ll put the team first. Beckham stayed in touch over the past two months with coach Freddie Kitchens, who isn’t worried about the playmaker being behind.“Odell is a bright guy,” Kitchens said following a workout forced indoors by thunderstorms. “He is smart. It is not like this is the first time he has opened up our (play) book. He has been studying and all that kind of stuff. Odell is making progress just like everybody else. Odell had some bad plays, and he had some good plays. He is going to continue to grow and learn, and that is what everybody else is going to do. Odell doesn’t have a magic wand.“He is going to come out and he is going to work. He is going to work as hard as anybody to get better every day, a little bit better every day.”Beckham learned during his time in New York that everything he says will be dissected, analyzed Devin Bush Jersey , and even twisted. In a recent GQ interview, Beckham said he wanted to bring championships to Cleveland and hoped to turn the Browns “into the new Patriots.”He was criticized for the remark, but it’s not as if he didn’t expect backlash.“I’m not surprised with anything,” he said. “I feel like I could sit in a corner in a room full of people and not try and bother anybody and it would be like, ‘You too good to be out here with the rest of us? It’s just a tough situation for me to be in. Anything that I say I know is going to take off. I’ve gotten used to it.”But Beckham didn’t come to Cleveland to be second-best to anyone.“I didn’t get in this game to get money or anything like that, I got in this game to be a champion. All my life, I’ve never really been a champion,” he said before telling how he lost a title basketball game in sixth grade when his shot at the buzzer was disallowed. “They called it off, they told me it was no good and I remember crying that entire night. I want to win. I want to be a champion.” ASHBURN, Va. (AP)The Cleveland Browns traded their third quarterback of the offseason, sending Kevin Hogan to the Washington Redskins. The teams announced the deal Friday that includes swapping sixth-round picks. Cleveland acquires the 188th pick from Washington for No. 205 http://www.steelersfootballauthentics.com/diontae-johnson-jersey-authentic , which it previously acquired from New England for cornerback Jason McCourty.Hogan follows Cody Kessler and DeShone Kizer out the door in Cleveland. The Browns acquired cornerback Damarious Randall as part of the Kizer trade with Green Bay that included flip-flopping fifth-round picks, and got a 2019 seventh-rounder from Jacksonville for Kessler.Cleveland, which has the first overall pick in the draft, also traded with Buffalo for Tyrod Taylor, the expected starter, and signed veteran Drew Stanton to a two-year deal. The 25-year-old Hogan has thrown for 621 yards, four touchdowns and seven interceptions and rushed for a score in eight games with Cleveland, including one start. The McLean, Virginia, native will compete with established No. 2 QB Colt McCoy to back up recently acquired Alex Smith.—

As Colin Kaepernick reminds everyone that he’s still interested in playing professional football Christian Wilkins Jersey , and given the permission granted by the Commander-in-Chief to employ him, will anyone hire Kaepernick?Probably not, but there’s a looming dynamic that could make the NFL’s ongoing cold shoulder to Kaepernick more glaring during the 2019 season. As the waiver-wire dust settles, the XFL will try to persuade some of the available players to commit to the resurrected spring league — and to remove themselves from the mix of the never ending in-season roster churn that will happen in the NFL.At quarterback http://www.dolphinsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-michael-deiter-jersey , that will create a potential problem for the NFL. If teams keep two quarterbacks on the roster, an injury to the starter will create a need for a new backup. And if eight to 16 of the third-string quarterbacks who fail to make an active roster choose to accept jobs with the eight teams of the XFL, they won’t be available to the NFL.That necessarily will bump Kaepernick’s name up the list of available free agents.Of course, the quarterbacks who get in-season offers to join the bottom of a depth chart rarely get much more than the minimum salary based on their level of experience. Kaepernick may want more than that. Then again, no one knows what Kaepernick would actually want because Garrett Bradbury Jersey , for more than two years and counting, no one has offered him a contract worth any amount of money.Given that Kaepernick has spent two full seasons and counting out of football, his path back to the game necessarily will include a willingness to say yes to whatever interest comes his way — and to get the word out now that he’s willing to fly anywhere and everywhere for a visit, a tryout, and if it comes to it a bargain-basement deal aimed at giving him a chance to remind everyone that http://www.vikingsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-irv-smith-jr.-jersey , yes, he really is good enough. Is it wrong that it got to this point? Absolutely. Is it, as a practical matter, the only way Kaepernick can re-establish himself? Unfortunately, it is. During his rookie season Alexander Mattison Jersey , quarterback Josh Rosen said he “will not run a play on a football field unless I know why we’re running it.”That’s not the main reason why Rosen was traded from the Cardinals to the Dolphins last month, but Rosen’s willingness to ask questions and speak his mind has led to some critical reactions dating back to his time at UCLA. On Thursday, Dolphins offensive coordinator Chad O’Shea said that any questions from Rosen about why the offense is doing something will be met with a more positive response.“It’s important,” O’Shea said, via the . “Players should want to know why. It’s something we encourage http://www.vikingsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-dru-samia-jersey , to learn the whys. If they’re not inquisitive about the whys then they’re never really going to conceptually understand the offense. So I think that Josh is highly intelligent, just like Ryan [Fitzpatrick] and Jake [Rudock] are, so having smart guys is a good thing. Those guys aren’t afraid to ask why. And we’re not afraid to answer it.”O’Shea said he was encouraged by the fact that Rosen has “dealt with some adversity” since entering the NFL as “mental toughness” is one of the things the team will be looking for at quarterback. He also praised Fitzpatrick’s leadership and said the eventual starter will get “what they earn” over the next few months.

LAKE FOREST Germaine Pratt Jersey , Ill. (AP) — staring down at the rest of the NFC North for the first time in five years. They’re in more familiar territory. And it’s not a place they want to stay. The Bears look to get back to winning after back-to-back losses when they host the banged-up New York Jets on Sunday.“No one past game dictates our season, no game coming up is going to dictate our season,” quarterback Mitchell Trubisky said. “We have the same attitude going every week, and I guess the last couple of weeks because we have been 0-2, I think we’re even hungrier. I know I am just (excited) to get back to work and get back into that win column.”Falling below .500 would be a major letdown considering where the Bears (3-3) were just a few weeks ago. They won three straight and took sole possession of the division lead for the first time since 2013 after four consecutive last-place finishes. But they’ve dropped two in a row since their bye, falling in overtime at Miami and by seven at home to New England last week. The losses left Chicago looking up at Minnesota and Green Bay and tied with Detroit in the NFC North.Trubisky, who passed for six touchdowns against Tampa Bay before the bye, was 26 of 50 for 333 yards against New England. He threw two TDs and two interceptions. The Jets (3-4) are trying to avoid a repeat of last season, when they finished 5-11 for the second year in a row. They were 3-4 a year ago, and they see this game as a measuring stick. It would help if they got more from quarterback Sam Darnold. The No. 3 overall draft pick leads league with 10 interceptions to go with one of NFL’s worst completion percentages (56.1) and passer ratings (74.3). The former USC star got picked off three times last week against Minnesota in his worst game as a pro.“Confidence is fine,” Darnold said. “I’m never really shaken at all, but it’s just an experience that I’ve got to learn from.”Here are some things to know as the Bears and Jets try to get back to winning:FITTING INWith injuries to Quincy Enunwa (sprained ankle) and Terrelle Pryor (groin, released with injury settlement), the Jets were in dire need of depth at wide receiver. They signed former Titans star Rishard Matthews on Tuesday.Matthews had asked to be traded or released by Tennessee because he didn’t like his role in the Titans’ offense. He was released last month, and now could find himself a valuable part of the Jets’ offense Sunday.Matthews has 228 catches for 3,147 yards and 21 touchdowns in six-plus seasons with Tennessee and Miami.DOMINANT ‘D’ TO STRUGGLING ‘D’With 69 points allowed and just one sack over the past two games, the Bears’ defense is taking a beating after dominating the first four weeks. It doesn’t help that outside linebacker Khalil Mack playing through an ankle injury. The two-time All-Pro hasn’t produced a sack since he was hurt against Miami on Oct. 14 after delivering five in the first four games. Chicago has gone from leading the league with 18 to being tied for eighth with 19 in that span, and a defense that ranked among the league’s best is now 12th overall.RED-ZONE WOESThe Jets have been in trouble all season when they’ve reached the opponent’s 20-yard line.New York ranks dead last in the NFL in those situations with touchdowns in just eight of 23 chances, for 34.8 percent. The Jets have 10 field goals from Jason Myers in the red zone, which raises their overall scoring percentage to 78.3 — still 29th in the league.NO RUNNINGThe Bears have issues in the running game even though they rank sixth in the league in rushing. Trubisky has accounted for 245 of their 784 yards, much of that on scrambles rather than designed runs. With 311 yards on 90 attempts, Jordan Howard is averaging just 3.5 yards per carry.CARRYING THE LOADNew York’s Bilal Powell was placed on injured reserve this week with a bulging disk in his neck. That means Isaiah Crowell could see a lot more carries moving forward after splitting time in the backfield with Powell. Crowell has 459 yards and five touchdowns on 81 carries, while Powell ran for 343 yards on 80 attempts.Crowell has been dealing with an ankle injury since running for a franchise-record 219 yards against Denver three weeks ago, so rookie Trenton Cannon might help. Just over 50 years ago http://www.bengalscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-ryan-finley-jersey , halfway through the history of the NFL, the New York Jets completed one of the most unexpected championship seasons in the history of the sport.A brash quarterback named Joe Namath helped engineer a Super Bowl victory over the heavily favored Baltimore Colts. That now-famous journey by Broadway Joe and the boys through the AFL that ended in triumph in Miami took a lesser-known detour for the second week of the schedule.Yes, the Jets once landed in Birmingham, Alabama.Their opponent on Sept. 22, 1968, was the Boston Patriots, who moved their home opener more than 1,000 miles south of Fenway Park even though the Red Sox were playing their game that day on the road. The legend has it that AFL leaders steered the Jets-Patriots game there to test Alabama’s taste for a professional team in the heart of college football country, eyeing a potential new home for the fledgling franchise. Legion Field, built in 1927 and often referred to as “The Old Gray Lady,” has been best known for all those Iron Bowl games over the years between Alabama and Auburn. But for this weekend the big draw was on a Sunday afternoon, not a Saturday. The AFL-NFL merger was already in the works, eventually completed after the 1969 season, and every team was facing a requirement of a stadium with at least 50,000 seats. Fenway Park wasn’t nearly big enough, so the Patriots were in a tenuous spot.Just think: Bill Belichick and Tom Brady conceivably could have called Birmingham home during those six Super Bowl title runs.Instead, the Patriots stayed put in Massachusetts for a suburban site in Foxborough. Thus, Legion Field never hosted another major league game. The Jets, featuring Namath, the former Crimson Tide star, were a natural draw as the opponent. They produced a 47-31 victory in front of an announced crowd of 29,192, with one of Namath’s two touchdown passes that afternoon going to eventual fellow Pro Football Hall of Fame member Don Maynard. The story of the league’s first century has been largely set in classic venues like Lambeau Field and the Polo Grounds or a modern-era building such as the Superdome. But the fabric of the league has been sewn together, too, by dozens of off-the-radar sites forever etched in the record books.According to the database compiled by research website Pro Football Reference Renell Wren Jersey , 166 stadiums have hosted at least one regular season or postseason game since the inception of the NFL in 1920. That includes rival leagues — the All-American Football Conference (1946-49) and the American Football League (1960-69) — that were eventually absorbed. One hundred of those venues have hosted 17 games or more. That does not factor in Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio, the birthplace of the NFL where an exhibition game is still annually held around Hall of Fame induction weekend. There are many more of those far-flung locales, from Pendleton, Oregon, to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, that have staged preseason contests over the years, and can stake a small claim to the history of the league. Here is a glance at some of the other off-the-main-grid sites of NFL games over the years:TRIANGLE PARK: DAYTON, OHIOThe first game in NFL history took place at Triangle Park in Dayton, Ohio, on Oct. 3, 1920, to launch what was originally called the American Professional Football Association. The Triangles beat the Columbus Panhandles 14-0. According to the Dayton Daily News, a total of 4,000 fans paid $1.75 for admission, and the players took home $50.RUBBER BOWL: AKRON, OHIOOne of the numerous Depression-era public works projects to serve as an NFL host, a decrepit version of the Rubber Bowl was demolished in 2018 after 78 years as a source of Rust Belt pride. With a name inspired by the local tire industry, the stadium served as the venue for the only win in Dallas Texans history. This was the 1952 version, a franchise that wound up in Baltimore as the Colts, not the AFL sequel that begat the Kansas City Chiefs.Well, these Texans played the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving Day in 1952. According to Gil Brandt, the longtime Dallas Cowboys administrator and now an unofficial NFL historian who will enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame next week, the pair of high school games played as the supposed undercard drew about 30 http://www.bengalscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-michael-jordan-jersey ,000 people. The announced crowd for the 27-23 victory by the Texans over the Bears was one zero short: 3,000. The actual attendance was likely less than half of that, and players were ordered into the stands afterward to personally thank the fans for coming. The Texans went 1-11 that year.BROADMOOR STADIUM, COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADOTicket sales were difficult during the Depression era, so moving around the country was not uncommon. The first NFL game played in a western state was in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at Broadmoor Stadium between the Cleveland Rams and Philadelphia Eagles to close the 1939 season. The Rams, who moved to Los Angeles seven years later, won 35-13.YALE BOWL, NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUTRenovations at Yankee Stadium forced the New York Giants to play the 1973-74 seasons Ivy League-style at the Yale Bowl in New Haven, Connecticut. Crowds were strong in 1973, but during a 2-12 finish by the Giants in 1974, attendance suffered a steep dropoff.ROGERS CENTRE, TORONTOThe Buffalo Bills staged an ill-fated series of games across the border, playing once per season from 2008-13 at Rogers Centre, the once-space-age stadium built for baseball as the SkyDome just a two-hour drive from the team’s home at New Era Stadium. Attendance was paltry, with the final installment drawing 38,969 on Dec. 1, 2013, for a 34-31 victory by the Atlanta Falcons over the Bills.

No http://www.packerscheapshoponline.com/cheap-authentic-darnell-savage-jr.-jersey , Aaron, this is not clickbait. But, to say what his head coach was not last night after their Canadian adventure, the latest in a string of embarrassments for the NFL when they work in non-NFL buildings at home and abroad. With the team playing on an 80-yard Winnipeg field because no one in the NFL imagined having a hole in the end zone where the CFL goalposts used to be might be a problem, the Packers held out 33 of their players against the Raiders.Raiders coach Jon Gruden said the field wasn’t a problem for him, but Packers coach Matt LaFleur was perhaps trying to be polite to his Canadian hosts.“We made the adjustments we felt were in the best interest of our football team, and we moved forward http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/authentic-justice-hill-jersey ,? LaFleur said, via the team’s official website. “It was a combination of a lot of things I really don’t want to get into right now. It is what it is. They weren’t playing their guys and I just didn’t want to put our guys at risk.”Rodgers was more direct. Via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, Rodgers said on the team’s television broadcast that his not playing was not related to the back tightness which caused him to be a healthy scratch last week, saying it was “nothing to do with [his sore] back, it’s more the field conditions that we had tonight.”That means Rodgers will likely go through the preseason without playing a snap, which is better than the alternative they’re considering in Carolina this morning, where Cam Newton was injured in his first preseason game.“I feel confident in our preparation Ben Powers Jersey ,? LaFleur said. “Hindsight is 20/20. I know we’re going to get second-guessed every which way, but I’m not too worried about it.“I’m concerned about how we go about our business and our mindset in that locker room, and I think our guys are confident.”If only the league could say the same thing, now that Winnipeg has joined Mexico City, Canton, and Dayton, Ohio (where A.J. Green was hurt in a league-arranged Bengals practice on an old college turf) for field-related fiascoes. Getting hit with a hard rubber projectile would certainly put a damper on an evening of entertainment. However http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/authentic-iman-marshall-jersey , Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was waiting in the wings to lift some spirits. At Monday night’s Game Three of the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs between the St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars, an errant puck cleared the protective glass and caught a young fan seated in the first few rows.Elliott was attending the game as well and came over to find the fan and said hello.

Elliott took a selfie with the kid and posted it to his instagram stories. The interaction led to a smile and seemed to lessen any pain the puck may have caused. It also may have helped soothe the sting of the outcome as well as the Blues would win the game 4-3 to take a 2-1 series lead over Dallas.

ALAMEDA http://www.jacksonvillejaguarsteamonline.com/jawaan-taylor-jersey , Calif. (AP) — the Oakland Raiders are now making some cuts. The Raiders released 2018 leading wide receiver Jordy Nelson and backup quarterback AJ McCarron on Thursday to create salary cap space after going on a spending spree earlier this week. The moves save more than $8.5 million for the upcoming season after the Raiders committed more than $50 million in salary cap space to acquire receiver Antonio Brown, tackle Trent Brown, safety Lamarcus Joyner and receiver Tyrell Williams.Nelson signed a $14.2 million, two-year deal last March with the Raiders and had 63 catches for 739 yards in his one season in Oakland. The Raiders turned his $3.6 million roster bonus for 2019 into a signing bonus late last season, which leaves them with $1.8 million in dead money this year.Coach Jon Gruden had planned to keep Nelson before plans changed when Brown became available from Pittsburgh last weekend. The Raiders traded a 2019 fifth-round pick to Buffalo last year to acquire McCarron as the backup to Derek Carr. McCarron appeared in just two games with three passes before the team decided to go in another direction. The move leaves Nathan Peterman as the only backup on the roster. Peterman was fifth-round pick by Buffalo in 2017 but was cut last season after beginning the year as the starter. He is 68 for 130 in his career for 548 yards, three TDs, 12 interceptions and a 32.5 passer rating in his career. The Raiders also signed defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins to a two-year contract to return to Oakland and formally announced the deal with Joyner that was agreed to earlier this week.Hankins spent his first four seasons with the Giants and then played for Indianapolis in 2017 before joining the Raiders last season. He had 36 tackles and two fumble recoveries last season for Oakland and will be part of a rotation at defensive tackle with second-year players Maurice Hurst and P.J. Hall, as well as Justin Ellis.“I’m definitely honored to be here for another two more years http://www.jacksonvillejaguarsteamonline.com/gardner-minshew-ii-jersey , be a part of the movement going forward,” Hankins said. “It’s exciting seeing everybody that they’ve been signing. I just can’t wait to get back to work and prove everybody wrong and let them know that the Raiders are back.”Joyner is the most notable addition so far for a defense that ranked last in the NFL in yards allowed per play (6.27) and points allowed per game (29.2) last season. The Raiders coveted Joyner for his versatility; he had experience playing cornerback, in the slot and safety in five seasons with the Rams. He was at his best after moving exclusively to free safety the past two seasons under coordinator Wade Phillips but said he’s ready to play in the slot if needed for Oakland.Joyner looks forward to come in on the ground floor of a rebuild after helping Florida State rebound from a team that struggled in coach Bobby Bowden’s final seasons before he arrived and then won a national championship under Jimbo Fisher in his senior season.“When I entered both organizations, they weren’t doing too well,” he said. “Even my years with the Rams, we started off slow, but they got the right guys in. I feel like I’m one of the first stepping stones, one of those first milestones for Coach Gruden to bring the right guys in and change this place around.” LANDOVER, Md. (AP) — Mitchell Trubisky wants the Bears to believe this will be the week their struggling offense gets going. It might actually be that week because Chicago is facing a Washington Redskins defense that hasn’t been able to stop much of anything. The Bears (1-1) go into Monday night’s matchup with the third-worst offense in the NFL through the first two weeks of the season. Fortunately for them http://www.losangelesramsteamonline.com/darrell-henderson-jersey , the Redskins (0-2) rank third-worst on defense and are dealing with some key injuries contributing to that disappointing start.Article continues below ...“They got some openings where we could have some success on offense this week,” Trubisky said Thursday. “We’ve got to believe that this offense can explode at any minute because of the playmakers and the special guys we have in the locker room.”Chicago’s offense has produced just one touchdown through two games — a 1-yard-run by David Montgomery last week — and Trubisky is a combined 42 of 72 for 348 yards and an interception. The 2017 second overall pick is near the bottom of the league at 4.8 yards a completion.“Right now, it’s just about getting into that rhythm and then understanding the execution of the plays,” coach Matt Nagy said. “And us as coaches, too, making sure that we’re putting them in optimum position to make the plays with whatever play call is made. We’re not running different plays. We’re not running anything different than we did last year. It’s a long season.”That’s the mantra inside the Redskins’ locker room where injuries to defensive lineman Jonathan Allen and cornerbacks Fabian Moreau and Quinton Dunbar have contributed to them getting worn down as games go on. Coach Jay Gruden said it’s not time to panic yet, but the defense underachieving is alarming.Washington has allowed a combined 569 yards in the second half in losses to Philadelphia and Dallas .“We’re struggling a little bit, but it takes time,” defensive tackle Tim Settle said. “The more we work together as a team http://www.minnesotavikingsteamonline.com/irv-smith-jr.-jersey , the more we progress as a team, the better we’re going to get. We’re going to get things rolling. It’s going to be pretty.”Not much is pretty about the Redskins’ defense or the Bears’ offense so far. Settle mentioned communication as an issue, and first-year Washington middle linebacker Jon Bostic pointed to a lack of cohesiveness on the defensive side of the ball.“Everybody’s got to be on the same page,” Bostic said. “If you got 10 guys on the same page and one guy that’s off it, it’s going to lead to an explosive play. Explosive plays win ballgames for you.”A big kick by Eddy Pineiro won the Bears their game last week at Denver, and they’re still looking for the big plays that have eluded them.“That comes down to everybody being locked in, making sure that everybody’s on being on the same page — no miscues on any part of the offense,” Chicago receiver Allen Robinson said. “It just comes down to everybody being on the same page and executing.”Some things to watch when the Bears visit the Redskins on Monday night:MONSTERS OF THE MIDWAYUnlike the Redskins, the Bears’ defense is doing just fine. It’s ranked fourth in the league and sixth against the run under new coordinator Chuck Pagano after Vic Fangio left to take the Broncos‘ head coaching job.“They’re physical in the middle and they have speed at linebacker http://www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com/dexter-lawrence-jersey ,” Gruden said. “They have good edge play. They have a safety that’s a ball hawk. Their corners are pretty good and experienced. They don’t really have a weakness in their defense.”Chicago has seven sacks through two games, two off the league lead.KEENUM IN RHYTHMCase Keenum won Washington’s starting QB job essentially by default because longtime backup Colt McCoy is still injured and first-round pick Dwayne Haskins isn’t ready. But Keenum is far from a problem for the Redskins, throwing for 601 yards and five touchdown passes with no interceptions.“I’m well aware of Case Keenum and what he can do,” Nagy said. “He’s obviously having a good year right now. Statically he’s protecting the football. He’s very, very football smart. So his football IQ is high. He gets the ball out.”BIG KICKThe Bears brought in a long line of kickers during the offseason after letting the embattled Cody Parker go following his double-doink miss in the playoff loss to Philadelphia at Soldier Field. They ultimately went with Pineiro, and he just might be winning them over.He nailed a 53-yard winner as time expired last week after hitting from 40 and 52 earlier in the game and is 4 for 4 this season. The big boot against the Broncos came after Nagy chose to go for a first down on fourth-and-10 in the opener against Green Bay at home rather than try a 51-yarder.“I’m trying to gain trust from them,” Pineiro said. “Now that he’s seen me hit a couple 50-yarders, maybe he lets me try a few longer ones. So it’s all a trust process. But we work for that moment behind the scenes at practice. Last-second kick, your team loses http://www.oaklandraidersteamonline.com/josh-jacobs-jersey , we’ve been doing this for the past four months now.”STILL NO REEDThe Redskins hoped to get matchup nightmare tight end Jordan Reed back last week after being concussed Aug. 23. This is his fifth documented concussion in seven years, Reed didn’t practice again Thursday and all possible caution being taken means he could miss the Bears game, too.“This is all a part of the process of recovering from this ordeal,” Gruden said. “We’re just taking it very slowly, making sure he goes through the right process to make sure it’s right before he goes back on the field.”

OLATHE http://www.ravensfootballauthentics.com/justice-hill-jersey-authentic , Kan. (AP) — Tyreek Hill from all team-related activities Thursday night while they investigate an audio recording that aired on a local TV station in which the star wide receiver’s fiancee accused him of abusing their 3-year-old son.The recording surfaced one day after prosecutors said they believed abuse had occurred in Hill’s home last month but that they could not press charges because it was unclear who committed the crime.Chiefs general manager Brett Veach read a statement after the conclusion of the first round of the NFL draft that said the team became aware of the recording between Hill and his fiancee, Crystal Espinal, in “real-time” — just like the general public.Afterward, Veach called Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, and informed him that Hill would no longer be allowed to work out with the team. The Chiefs are in the midst of voluntary offseason workouts.“We were deeply disturbed by what we heard. We have deep concern for Crystal, and are concerned for Tyreek, but we have real concern for the child,” Veach said in his statement. “We are going to continue to gather information and we will make the right decision.”Veach declined to take any questions. Chiefs coach Andy Reid and chairman Clark Hunt, who also were in the building for the start of the draft, were not made available.Police were called to Hill’s home twice last month and investigators determined their child had been injured. On Wednesday, Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe said charges would not be filed but that he was “deeply troubled” by the situation and said “we believe a crime has occurred.”Howe also said the case could be reopened if new information surfaced.Hill released a statement through his attorney earlier Thursday in which he said his “son’s health and happiness is my number one priority.” Hill said his focus is on “working hard to be the best person for my family and our community that I can be, and the best player to help our team win.”Less than eight hours later, KCTV in Kansas City aired part of an 11-minute audio file in which Espinal tells Hill that when asked about an injury to the child’s arm, the boy replied: Ben Powers Jersey , “Daddy did it.”Hill denied any role in what happened to the child, saying: “He says Daddy does a lot of things.”Espinal also tells Hill their son is “terrified of you.”Hill replies, “You need to be terrified of me, too, bitch.”Later in the conversation, Espinal asks Hill, “What do you do when the child is bad? You make him open up his arms and you punch him in the chest.”KCTV said the audio was sent to the station without disclosing from whom. The station said it had shared the audio with Howe’s office, which did not return a message late Thursday.Hill is a two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver with a history of domestic issues, including a case in which he was accused of punching Espinal while she was pregnant and they were attending Oklahoma State.Hill’s attorney, Trey Pettlon, has said that the wide receiver has cooperated with law enforcement throughout the investigation. Pettlon also said that Hill waived his Fifth Amendment rights, answered questions from law enforcement and the Department of Children and Families, and that he would continue to cooperate with authorities as they provide a safe environment for the child. That statement was thrown into question by the audio, during which Espinal indicates she covered for Hill while answering questions from investigators: “Now I really want you to sit and think about it,” she tells Hill http://www.ravensfootballauthentics.com/iman-marshall-jersey-authentic , “because I rode for you against that detective.”Howe would not say who has custody of the child other than to say he is safe.“We’re talking about a minor, a child, and the system and DCF and in child investigations, we have to be very cognizant about protecting the rights of the child,” Howe said Wednesday. “We have to respect the wishes of the individuals involved in the case.”Hill is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and the Chiefs have little depth at wide receiver. That means it is possible the Chiefs could target a pass-catcher when they make one of their three picks Friday night — they traded their first-round pick to Seattle earlier this week as part of a package to acquire pass rusher Frank Clark, who has his own history of domestic violence.Last year, the Chiefs released star running back Kareem Hunt following a video that showed him pushing and kicking a woman in a hotel hallway. Before the audio of Hill was broadcast, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell warned about making any judgments before getting all the facts. But he did make it clear that Hill could be punished under the league’s personal conduct policy, regardless of the legal situation.“You don’t make a decision without having those facts,” Goodell said. “I’m going to Disney World,” Nick Foles said after his Super Bowl win. That was what Nick Foles uttered after winning the Super Bowl, just a couple of months after he helped come in to save the Philadelphia Eagles after Carson Wentz suffered an ACL injury which ended his 2017 season. The Eagles were Super Bowl LII frontrunners, but were counted out by everyone once Wentz went down. Nick Foles did enough to clinch the no.1 seed, managed the divisional round game against Atlanta Trace McSorley Jersey , then lit up the NFL's top defense in the NFC Championship, before eventually defeating Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.Even though Foles was the one to get the Super Bowl win, head coach Doug Pederson continues to remind Eagles fans that Carson Wentz will be the starter when he's healthy. With Foles being on the top of the world, and still under contract, that makes him a really valuable trade weapon for the Eagles. It would be pretty unreal to see the Foles sit on the bench after he won Super Bowl LII MVP. Foles has proven he’s a starting quarterback in the NFL, and ironically, a lot of teams need a quarterback either now, or in the future. Philly seems to be in no rush to trade Foles, but if a team knocked their socks off with an offer, they'd have to listen, or risk losing Foles in free agency next year. If Foles were to move on from Philly, here are some QB needy teams he'd want to play for and who he wouldn't want to join.

KANSAS CITY Chris Lindstrom Jersey , Mo. ? City Chiefs on Sunday night sent a jolt through the NFL, whether it was dominating the line of scrimmage or shutting down Patrick Mahomes and Co. on defense. The one place the shock didn’t reverberate? The visiting locker room in Arrowhead Stadium.“The one emotion we were not feeling is shock. I can’t even explain it,” Colts coach Frank Reich said after the 19-13 victory. “The way guys were walking down the hallway, it was, ‘We’re not going to be denied. We have to get on track. We’ve got to do it.’ I just knew it was real. I felt it all week.“There was just an air of confidence and belief that we would do what we did today.”Marlon Mack ran for 132 yards and ageless kicker Adam Vinatieri knocked through four field goals as the Colts atoned ever-so-slightly for a January playoff defeat inside the same stadium.Asked what the message was pregame, longtime Chiefs linebacker-turned-Colts defensive end Justin Houston replied: “To come out here and play our game. To leave it out there every snap, to play with your heart, play with your soul. And I think we did that tonight.”The Colts (3-2) allowed points on the Chiefs’ first two possessions before shutting them out until Harrison Butker’s field goal with 1:16 to go. Indianapolis recovered the onside kick without any issue and ran out the clock to celebrate a big win heading into its bye.Mahomes threw for 321 yards and a touchdown, and the Chiefs (4-1) had just 36 yards rushing despite getting top running back Damien Williams back from an injury, all while watching their record streak of 22 straight games scoring at least 26 points come to a crashing conclusion.“Penalties are really what hurt us today,” said Chiefs coach Andy Reid, whose team was flagged 11 times for 125 yards. “You get things going, all of a sudden you’re going backward, and it’s tough in this league to do that against a good team and win.”In an air-it-out era of the NFL http://www.lionsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-jahlani-tavai-jersey , the Colts also won by dominating the line of scrimmage. On offense, their big line bruised a Kansas City defensive front that lost Chris Jones and Xavier Williams to injuries. That created big holes for Mack and plenty of time for Jacoby Brissett, who threw for 151 yards while running for the Colts’ only touchdown. On defense, the Colts spent most of the night in the Kansas City backfield, plugging up holes in the running game and relentlessly pressuring the reigning league MVP on passing downs.Mahomes was sacked four times and hit plenty more. At one point in the second half, Cam Erving was pushed so far into Mahomes’ face that the backup left tackle stepped on his quarterback’s ankle, leaving Mahomes to hobble to the sideline when Kansas City was forced to punt.“In this league, the margin of error is tiny,” said Mahomes, who dismissed the seriousness of his injury. “If you’re not executing at a high level, you’re going to lose.'”The Colts and Chiefs mostly played to a first-half stalemate, but the second of Vinatieri’s four field goals made it 13-10 at the break. The real winners were the officials, who finally got to rest the arms that they used to throw flags for the first 30 minutes. The Chiefs’ prolific offense continued to sputter in the second half, and Brissett and the Colts essentially played a game of keep-away throughout the third quarter and into the fourth.“You don’t need a large playbook to convert third-and-1 Kyler Murray Jersey ,” Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark said. The Colts used 8:34 off the clock to move a mere 35 yards and set up Vinatieri’s next field goal. Then, when the Chiefs failed to convert fourth-and-1 at their own 34, Indianapolis got another field goal from Vinatieri with 2:30 to go to make it a two-possession game.“You could just tell they were hungry. They were hungry all week,” Reich said. “I know that’s not uncommon, but there was something different about this week. I could feel it. It was palpable. We just walked in here with a lot of confidence. Last night in our meetings, I can’t even explain what happened in our meetings last night. There was just a feeling amongst the team when we walked into this stadium.”ALMOST INTMahomes nearly threw his first interception of the season in the third quarter, when FB Anthony Sherman batted a pass and LB Bobby Okereke caught it. A review showed the ball bounced off the ground.RING OF HONORThe Chiefs inducted OL Brian Waters into their Hall of Fame during halftime. Waters was a two-time All-Pro for Kansas City before wrapping up his 13-year career with the Patriots and Cowboys.HAPPY RETURNSColts DE Justin Houston celebrated his first trip to Kansas City as a visitor by sacking Mahomes in the first half. The four-time Pro Bowl pick had 78 1/2 sacks during eight seasons with the Chiefs.FLAG DAYChiefs CB Bashaud Breeland had a night to forget. Not only did he struggle in pass coverage, he was flagged four times for 68 yards. That included a 53-yard pass interference call.INJURIESColts: CBs Shak Taylor (chest) and Kenny Moore II (knee) left in the first half, joining inactive safeties Malik Hooker (knee), Glayton Geathers (concussion) and Rolan Milligan (knee) on the Indianapolis sideline. LB Zaire Franklin (hamstring) and DE Kemoko Turay (ankle) left in the second half.Chiefs: WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring), LB Anthony Hitchens (groin) and DT Xavier Williams (ankle) left in the first half. DT Chris Jones (groin) and LG Andrew Wylie (ankle) left in the second half.UP NEXTColts get the week off before traveling to Houston on Oct. 20.Chiefs welcome the Texans to Arrowhead Stadium next Sunday. DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — Going into the draft, the Miami Dolphins‘ plan was to win later.Josh Rosen will try to change that.If the Arizona Cardinals’ castoff quarterback shows the Dolphins this year that he can be a franchise QB, they’ll be ahead of schedule in their rebuilding project under first-year coach Brian Flores. And if Rosen is a bust for the second time in as many NFL seasons http://www.arizonacardinalsteamonline.com/byron-murphy-jersey , the Dolphins will likely have a lousy 2019 record, which means they’ll be well-positioned to draft their quarterback of the future a year from now.The Dolphins traded a 2019 second-round draft pick and a 2020 fifth-round selection to Arizona for Rosen, a modest investment considering the potential payoff. Rosen was the No. 10 overall pick last year and had a rough rookie season for a team that went 3-13.He’ll likely beat out veteran newcomer Ryan Fitzpatrick for the Dolphins’ starting job this year, in part because they need to find out whether he’s a keeper. Here are things to know about other moves by the Dolphins during the draft:WHO THEY GOTThe Dolphins landed two players likely to start as rookies — Clemson defensive tackle Christian Wilkins in the first round, and versatile Wisconsin offensive lineman Michael Deiter in the third round. Their third-day picks were Wisconsin linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel in the fifth round, Ohio State right tackle Isaiah Prince in the sixth round, and Auburn fullback Chandler Cox and Washington running back Myles Gaskin in the seventh round.“We’ve made some progress,” general manager Chris Grier said. “We feel better, but there’s still work to do. We’re not where we want to be, but we’re happy where we are.”SURPRISE MOVEThe Dolphins weren’t expected to use a high pick on a quarterback, because the crop of prospects in 2020 is more promising.“During his rookie season, obviously there were some ups, there were some downs,” Flores said. “That’s the case for all rookies. But this guy has a lot of arm talent.”HOW THEY DIDThe Dolphins began the draft in the market for an edge rusher Andy Isabella Jersey , and they’re still shopping for one. There’s a significant need at the position because the Dolphins parted with three veteran defensive ends this offseason, including five-time Pro Bowl end Cameron Wake, while adding no marquee free agents. They’re also in the market for help at right tackle and cornerback, and depth is thin at most positions.WHAT’S NEXT?The Dolphins may plug some holes in post-draft free agency, but some long-term solutions will have to wait until 2020. That’s when Grier and Flores are expected to make a big splash, with a favorable salary cap situation next year and 10 picks in the draft, not including two possible compensatory choices. They could have seven picks in the first four rounds.“The plan was to get as many picks as we could going forward, to build this thing right,” Grier said. “We’ll see where it goes.”

That’s the word from Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White Dexter Williams Jersey , who says that he is going forward with Hardy making his official UFC debut on the first fight card that will be broadcast by ESPN.“We’ve been building this ESPN card for a while and he was one of the guys that we had planned on putting on that card,” White said of Hardy.Asked a follow-up about the UFC’s decision to put Hardy on the same card as female UFC fighter Rachael Ostovich, who was recently injured in an incident that resulted in her boyfriend, mixed martial arts fighter Arnold Berdon, being charged with second-degree assault, White told reporters that Ostovich doesn’t have a problem with it so no one else should, either.“I’m not going to talk about Greg Hardy anymore,” White said. “I already covered this. I’m not playing this bulls–t with you guys. He’s on the UFC roster. He’s on the UFC roster Max Scharping Jersey , period, end of story. . . . He’s on the roster. Listen, you guys want to be sensitive about s–t? Anybody can be sensitive about anything. You can make an issue about everything. The weird thing is, you guys give a f–k, but she doesn’t. She doesn’t care.”Ostovich may not care, or she may feel she can’t speak up because she needs to make a living as a UFC fighter, and UFC fighters who publicly contradict Dana White lose their abilities to make their livings. And making an issue of Hardy fighting in the Octagon on ESPN would be contradicting White, who accused reporters of caring about Hardy only because he “gets hits” and threatened to walk out of a press appearance if he was asked repeated questions about it.“I’m done with it. I’m done with it. I’m done with it. I’m done with it! I’m done. Don’t make me leave. I’m done http://www.texansauthorizedshops.com/authentic-kahale-warring-jersey ,” White said.White denied that anyone cares about Hardy’s past, which includes a domestic violence allegation that got him arrested and suspended by the NFL.“Nobody’s been put off by it,” White said. “Who’s put off by it?”Although charges against Hardy were ultimately dropped when he agreed to settle a civil lawsuit with the woman he was accused of abusing, that arrest is the primary reason that Hardy is no longer in the NFL. NFL teams were put off by Hardy enough that they no longer want him. The UFC and its partners at ESPN don’t feel the same way. The Saints have come to terms with safety Chris Banjo on a three-year deal worth up to $9 million, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports.Banjo was set to become an unrestricted free agent. The core special teams player has never missed a game since the Saints signed him Nov. 14, 2016. He has 14 tackles, four pass breakups and three interceptions since arriving. The Saints enter next season with Vonn Bell and Marcus Williams as the expected starters at safety. They cut Kurt Coleman last month.Banjo played 52 snaps on defense and 277 on special teams last season, finishing with 10 tackles. He made two interceptions in a regular-season game against the Eagles. In 2017 Cullen Gillaspia Jersey , Banjo played 34 snaps on defense and 332 on special teams.Banjo, 29, spent the first 3 1/2 seasons of his NFL career with the Packers. He originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent, signing with the Jaguars in 2013.
